Net Decking happens in all card games, thats been said. People will keep doing it, after all what motivates them to do so is to win cash. Thats not bad or anything, but that's what fuels them to play the game. Some people love to tinker around and create new decks, even if they're not Tier 1 teams. I myself like tinkering with new stuff, just because I like to find ways around Tier 1 decks with "Bad" teams. I love Mono Doom, and I stubbornly stick with it to the end even if it doesn't win PC's. I know it's been said before, but good deck doesn't make you a winner, it's funny to see people play TT and not knowing how to properly us TTG and Roy Harper to reset the attack!
Anyways, I believe one kind of player depends on the other, like some sort of wierd symbiosis!
Wow It's been a long time since I've read this one!

Indeed it is!
I really wanted to clear one thing up, especially to those unfamiliar with the history of this thread. This thread is not a bash to those who NetDeck(I for one think it is a healthy addition to this game!). The purpose of this thread was, is, and will always be this, I disprove of the "Tier one mentality". The Deck lists that everyone copies are GOOD, but they are even better when in the hands of someone who has mastered the in's and out's of said deck! When I first started this thread the "Tier one Mentality" also meant that any deck that didn't have a great showing at a major event was worthless!
We here at the realms had an entire community(with certain exceptions)that thought that Spider Friends, Team Superman, and X-Men were all trash! They don't look to bad now do they? To me "Tier one" should be called flavor of the month, or this month's top 5! With more and more cards at our disposal EVERY team and/or deck type can become viable!
I know i'm late to the discussion, but i thought i'd offer a thought.
When investing in stocks, i came across a term called trendsurfing. This is done by people who arent' capable of predicting the movement of the market themselves, and thus rely on others to do it, they then copy the trends other people set.
This is a technique that can be profitable, in it's own way, however it has one big problem.
By the time the trends become apparent, the people who set the trends, and discover them, have made their money and moved on, searching for the next trend to start.
I beleive the same principal to be true for Versus. By the time a deck design is being yanked off the net, the people who innovate in this game, have already started moving on to new concepts and new possibilities.
So while someone taking a deck of the net may well be able to do well with it, they will always be at least one step behind the folks who are leading the charge.
And i think i'd rather try and be leading the charge, rather than following the sound of bugles.
I have a Brotherhood/league deck built long enough ago to predate most of the net hype regarding the league, or the VSuniverse articles regarding Loa/brotherhood.
My next deck will attempt to again, help set the curve, rather than follow it because it's simply more fun, more involved, and at the end of the day, it's where the true victory lies.
