It is quite annoying to see a bunch of "local players" make the cut, but i wonder how does everyone feel about the people that make 2600+ through pcq's? It's not that easy depending on your competition and NO scoops(at least in my case).
The most important thing to remember is that this should increase attendance at SoCal. That leads to more people seeing the game played.
Which hopefully leads to more people wanting to play the game. Which leads to more people buying product. Which leads to UDE making more money. Which leads to new card sets for us to buy.
I will be very surprised if the next set of Ratings Invtes for PC#3 don't require a 2650 rating. PC#4 might need 2700.
As i mentioned earlier, they might go to the 50 highest rated people who aren't already qualified in the future.

I made 2600+ by going undefeated in a PCQ. I've now played in two sanctioned tournaments, the PCQ and PC1. PCQ was sealed, I went undefeated. PC1 I went 0-4 in constructed. Now I get an invite to PC2, but since I work retail I can't get any time off in December, so it's worthless to me.
I'm the judge for the events at our store, so no playing there to gain ratings points.
Looks like they have continued to work on the PCC's.
I don't think anyone has negative points anymore.
Also, with the change of use the points or lose the points, they can just give you 10 PCC's instead of raising you to 10. Makes it easier for them to award the points I'm sure. Once the PC Event is over all they do is query the points for people with invites and people who played and subtract 10.
I wanted to briefly introducte myself as the newest member of the UDE team. I'll be managing the team responsible for our premier event programs. I've already been in touch with several of y'all (I'm a Texan, BTW) via email over the last couple of days resolving issues with your Pro Circuit Credits ("PC Credits" or "PCCs").
First off, just to clarify some things:
- If you participated in a PCQ that did not award PC Credits, it's not flagged as a PCQ and needs to be corrected. Please email [email protected] with the following information:
First Name:
Last Name:
UDE number:
Event date:
Event format:
Event location:
Place finished:
Tournament Organizer:
- If you participated in tournament but it does not appear in your match history, please contact your TO and make sure they upload the event. We are also asking all Premier TOs to make sure all their PCQs are updated.
- Q: Where's the official invitation list?
A: Everyone with 10 or more PC Credits or 2600 or higher rating in either Constructed or Sealed Pack ratings as of November 3rd received an invitation to Pro Circuit Los Angeles. An official annoucement is forthcoming, but you can verify your invitation by checking your PC Credits and looking for "Ratings Invite - PC Los Angeles 2004".
- Q: Why is the rating threshold so low?
A: The ratings threshold was pushed so low because of the large overlap with the players with 10 or more PC Credits. Roughly 100 players received an invitation via rating that were not already qualified via PC Credits.
Going forward, we expect the ratings threshold for PC invitations to increase signficantly, as PC Credits will more accurately reflect solid performance in professional events.
- Q: Do Sneak Peeks award PC Credits?
A: No, and we're in the process of verifying that now. If you have received PC Points from a Sneak Peek or any other events that was not a PCQ, $10K, or PC please email [email protected] so we can fix it.
No problem. You're a great resource for us too, and you keep us on our toes.
Here's another FAQ:
- Q: I think I should have a ratings invite, but not all my tournaments are showing up in my rating. What do I do?
A: Make sure your TO has submitted your events, and then email [email protected]. All deliquent tournaments must be received by next Wednesday, November 10th, and the final invites will go out on the afternoon of Friday, November 12th.
I say Bah! to all you 2600 player haters. Bah I say! Actually I am happy to get a ratings invite. Assuming I get to actually go, I hope to send a few of you who "earned" it home early.
