In fact, as long as they provide SOMETHING (which they did, the cards arrived), they've fulfilled their mission.
Ahahahahaha! But the problem I have, my ignorant friend, is that the cards didn't arrive. I've drafting DLS and MHG still hasn't been released. So, by your own criteria, they haven't fulfilled their mission.

I didn't say it was my criteria, it's a literal reading of the words. As long as they provide some entertainment product (VS or otherwise, and you've gotten SOME VS), they've completed their mission statement.
Anyone who's worked with mission statements (pretty much anyone who's worked) knows that they are complete rubbish anyway.

To answer a question you asked about Upper Deck with Upper Deck's own words. Then you acused me of insulting you,(which I didn't) and called me immature(you got me there).
Then, I asked 3 questions about UDE being a worldwide company which you have completely ignored.
You style of debate is interesting. When someone asks you a question you don't feel like answering you accuse them of insults, and then insult them. When they give in and reply in kind, you quote them to show everyone just how rude they are and go asking questions about mods and what not. Call me immature?

Kettle, black. black, kettle.
I'm PMing you. I'm sick of having people ruin my reputation.
Look, I'm PMing you. I'm sick of having people ruin my reputation.
you're kinda' doing that for yourself there buddy. being hypocritical, evasive, rude, and just a downright jackass wouldn't do well for anyone's reputation. look at GW bush for crying out loud.
your argument (from what I gather):
UDE should not put it's effort into other countries because it's not profitable. also something about it not being a world wide buisiness.
everyone elses besides chips ahoy!:
It would be profitable because they would gain player support if they put more effort into it and thus more profit. (and to the whole 'UDE is an American country thing: do you think Vs. system is the only thing UDE does? they have sports cards wow, yugi, and all sorts of other stuff, so no. they are a WORLDWIDE company. maybe not for Vs., but UDE is.)

Is that what you said?
Huh. What I thought you said was

You should just be happy the cards are making it overseas.
And Again in your PM you claim I insulted you when I said "Don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument". I did nothing of the sort. I'm saying your argument is unfounded given the relevant facts. This is not a personal attack. You seem to be unable to tell the difference.
You write to me "Clearly I can't have an opinion that Europe shouldn't have an OP program without being called a troll." Sir-you can hold ANY OPINION YOU LIKE. But If you insist on posting it on an internet message board, then you should be prepared to defend it. If you respond with few facts and many insults when called to account, and do so for the better part of 4 or so pages, you will, in all probability, be labeled a troll. If you don't like that, perhaps you should rethink your position, or develop thicker skin.
-----------------------
I'd like to figure out what you think.
You believe Europe should not have OP support because it does not make sense from a financial standpoint for UDE. I think you are more right than wrong in your opinion in this. Vs., for several reasons is not making money in Europe, from what I understand. A handfull of dedicated stores and players is not enough for them to make a profit from all of Europe and from that standpoint is not justified.
There's a flaw in this thinking though. First- Vs seemed to be doing well in Europe. Well enough anyway to have a PC stop there. The following on that side of the Atlantic seemed to dry up around the same time we started hearing about serious delays in support. It seems to me this was pretty well across the board. First Hobby League delays, then PCQ prize support, they even stopped receiving decent prize support for pre-releases. Ateendance dipped, driving prize support even lower, which lead to less product being sold, and so on and so forth. This is unfortunate, but understandable. The game was dying there. The cost of doing business in Europe is more expensive when you're based in California. Whether the game died because of Europe's lack of support for the game, or UDE's lack of support for Europe is a dicussion for another thread.
Second - The real problem came about when UDE announced they were revamping the OP system. Granted - it's no longer financially plausable for OT support in Europe. But that shoudn't matter at this point because UDE claimed thety revamped the system and made announcements that support was on the way in the way of the Days of the champion and city championships and what not.
and the scilence has been deafening.
If UDE was aware (as they should have been at this point) that the game was losing money in Europe, they should have simply said so. A Press release letting eveyone know that despite efforts to keep the game alive there simply was not enough player base to continue OP supprt for Europe - and that would have been the end of it. There would have been people who were upset, of course. But at least UDE would have done the right thing in saying, we hope you still like and buy our game but we cannot offer you OP support - and we're sorry it didn't work out.
BUT PEOPLE WERE TOLD THERE WOULD BE SUPPORT - AND FOR THAT REASON AND THAT REASON ALONE UDE NEEDS TO HONOR THAT. They haven't, and that's why people are pissed. Because the dedicated few over there continue to buy product and promote the game in the hope that someday the support will be there.
So it's not a matter that Europe doesn't deserve UDE's support. It's that UDE doesn't deserve Europe's support.
-------------
Please note - this is not a personal attack on you. I'm sure you're a swell guy who has opinions that sometimes don't mesh with everyone else's (a situation I often find myself in), but there are people who were flat out lied to by UDE. I believe that. Now, you also said in your PM to me that to give up and leave these boards would be to let some of the poeople here win - or to get away with something. The folks from Europe who post here and want questions answered from UDE are the same way. To simply stop buying product and go away - to stop posting about the state of affairs in Europe - would be to let UDE get away with something that is pretty crappy. I for one hope they get some answers. The people buying product and playing over there are very dedicated, and they were lied to. If we were in the same same situation, I'd want people to know about it too.

Well said. i applaud you, sir, and when the world is under my complete and total control, you may select a suitably large, tropical island resort for your own.
