I spoke with the guy. He seems ok with withdrawing to make room.
The guidelines for the alliance are pretty much that we want members to try and meet the daily play requirement, so doing one node a day. Obviously anything beyond that is appreciated.
We have not seemed to have any trouble clearing everything on the regular boss events. On the ones which would require serious coordination to get everything, like Civil War, we do well, but we generally do not get everything.
I have posted to the in-game chat about this, so we will see what happens there. We will most likely have room for you if you would like.
Or perhaps nbperp has already sniped you and all of this is moot anyway.
So, my alliance (which filled its last slot) has a player inactive for over a week and nonresponsive to email, so I'd be happy to welcome someone in. Feel free to PM me for deets (whoever is looking for an alliance, I know Harpua is happy with his).
I am not the original commander of my alliance, though I am the only one now. Our original commander went MIA for a while, making me co-commander. After his MIA hit the month-long mark, I asked him if he was still going to play, he said no and that I could boot him. I could not. Because original commander outranks any other. He ended up needing to go and drop out of the alliance himself.
I do not know if my account is now flagged as a founder or not; I don't know if I made a co-commander, if he would have the ability to drop me or not.
Hey buddy, find your own dance partner!
I do wish there were a handful more Realms folks that played MPQ to keep all the Alliances full for those boss events and such. I know our group is casual and isn't pushing for alliance placement for pvp or pve, but kicking butt on the boss events with a full group is nice when we can.

A couple of you asked, so I figured on top of what I related in PMs, I could expand a little here for anyone who might care.
In short, the investments of time and some money are no longer paying out appropriately with good brain chemicals.
One thing I've noticed: There's not a meta of rock-paper-scissors. It's all rocks. And the biggest rock wins more often than not. And because new characters are not going to stop coming out all the dang time, I'm never going to see my strongest characters get appreciably strong enough to be a big rock. I can win against some tough teams, but the costs are ever-increasing and then I still don't manage a decent placement for my efforts because there are plenty of bigger rocks out there.
I hope my choice doesn't discourage anyone else from playing. It's an awesome game and I don't think I'd have given 6 years to it if it wasn't. It lit up many happy parts of my brain for a long time there. But like addictions, I think the hit I was getting has faded and there's nothing I can do to get a stronger spike of endorphins or whatever the game was producing in me. It became work over time and while still somewhat interesting, overall, I just can't keep up and get any stronger and that wall stopped me when I finally saw it.
I'm happy to jump in for Alliance events until you find a new player for me if that would be useful, but I'm not going to be playing in any other events.

This sounds very familiar to me. I certainly don't regret the time I spent on the game but sometime you just need to look at what you spend on it (both time an money) and ask yourself if it is still worth it.

This makes sense.
Even though I am almost 2 years into the game I wonder, "will I ever get all of my 5's champed?". Plus, when I do wouldn't there be a ton more who have been playing as long as you, Harpua, or Nbperp, who would just be part of the 550 club? Also similar is in Pokemon go. What is the point of the game once you have hit level 40? Catch shinies? That's fun but much like opening LLs it's a gamble in hoping to roster more of those elusive 5*s. There are too many 4*s out now that it's just stupid. It ultimately makes it too difficult to chase all the 4's or to max champ them.
The game is still fun. I used to be so gung ho and have to finish everything and do well now I pick and choose. I choose not to do certain PVE I even sometimes skip out on a PVP or two. What I realized was that I thought I couldn't change my play style but I did. Even though it can be a grind, taking that time off just let's me enjoy the time that I play more. Each person is different but maybe it gives you an idea of something to try.
With that being said. Maybe, just maybe you could stick in there for another 2 months. It is up to you if you just want to do a DDQ or nothing. At least it gives you the option to come back if you wish.
(I also understand if that's not the way you work, and you just want to go and never look back)
Thanks for the info

Been there. A few times over the past nearly 7 years (I'm about a month away from my own anniversary). For me, what I do is I ignore PVP and I just play PVE and only as much as I want. My 4* and 5* roster declines significantly. To date, never to the point that I didn't have an essential, but right now, I think the last 3 4*s are not champed and my 5*s are not in great shape - Killmonger is at 6 covers, Wolverine is at 5 and I do not even have a Heimdall yet! But I'm at peace with all this, because I'm playing as much as I want, not as much as the game demands of me to be better.

I have said before that my secret was a slow, methodical creep to 5* land. The only LLs I would buy were to get an essential. Beyond that my CP was going towards classics.
Now, this was at a time when the 5* pool was much less diluted, but the point was getting all of my classic 5* to 13 covers before I switched over to focusing on the latest.
Look at it this way, say you had 7000 CP to burn on legendary tokens.
You could get 280 LLs or 350 CLs.
Statistically that will get you 50 5* covers front the CLs over only 40 from the LLs.
On top of that, you are looking at 300 4* covers or 240 from the LLs.
That ain’t chicken feed. And those extra 4*’s will improve your usable roster significantly potentially resulting in better placement, acceleration the progress.
And with focusing on the classics instead of the latest, you are setting up a situation where you are not cycling a bunch of completed 5* dudes into the classic pool.
As far as getting there goes, guys like nbperp and jackstar had two to three years of head start on me, so it is possible to catch up.
I am actually so stoked about the new teams screen with the ability to created saved teams.
So what are your saved teams?
Right now I have 5/6 filled.
- Professor 5X, Onslaught, Apocalypse
- Thor, Okoye, America
- Juggernaut, Gamora, Grocket
- Storm, Professor X, Iceman
- BRB, Captain Marvel, Polaris
I will probably end up dropping the Storm/5X/Iceman one in favor of something else. Now that the new infinite combo with Polaris exists, I don’t see me using them much anymore.

Don't say that, Polaris is gonna get nerfed.
Though now that it's an option, I'll probably save the Gamora/Grocket/Juggy. Not sure that I have any other teams that are zomg (except my 2* Hawkeye/Magneto/Storm team for convenience in DDQs).
Did just champ Emma Frost (look, I had 10 saved covers for her, I wanted the Kitty). And honestly, I do understand jackstar's POV, and it's just hard for me to be motivated unless it's for very specific things. I still hit the DDQs and alliance events, but I just don't have a great deal of motivation.

Maybe worth your consideration (via d3 board):
See my post (2nd to last on the page) for a long write up on why I thought I liked 5* Carol better but have now exclusively switched to 4* Thanos

While I have made the same “shh” joke in the past, I am not sure how accurate it is. In the past they have run contests asking players to guess various statistics. This indicates that they at least have the potential to know that she is being used a ton (as well as seeing a spike in a previously underused toon like Capt. Marvel).
If they look at that stuff to keep their finger on the pulse and watch for problems, I do not know. One would hope that they do, but when they did the SDCC Q&A thing the guy seemed legitimately surprised that hundreds of people instantly chimed in with Bishop as a response when he asked who people felt was overpowered.
It was not long after that, though, that they did revamp him, so at the very least, once they are aware of a toon being a problem, they might be inclined to address it.
But that is the thing....is there anyone out there who is saying that Polaris is a problem? She is fantastic in PVE, but that does not directly impact other players in a concrete way. It is pretty much a case where you use her, but that is as far as it goes.
That leaves her and her impact in PVP where she could directly impact others. Again, I doubt many have complaints about her here. That strategy is one that requires human intervention. The AI would never play her team optimally, thus her being on a team you would challenge really is not a problem. She is easily overcome. Yes, I have had matches against her where I was fed nothing good and/or she happened to have everything click, but she is not like Bishop where you can be pretty well assured that even if you pull out the W you are going to be limping away.
As such, I don’t actually see them nerfing her unless there is some way that she is negatively impacting their $ income.

Happy you are enjoying the game enhancement that you have been rather vocal about.

For me, the alliance events are the best part of MPQ. I enjoy the match-3 and the powers and working out the best order to attack an opposing team. But alliance events typically bring more of the "puzzle" to PQ. Galactus, Ultron, Apocalypse, and even Thanos (though he's just so flippin easy) all bring an interesting twist to the game that makes it fun for me. Sinister Six may be my favorite event simply because there are a few puzzlers and you're going to get 3 of them lined up differently each wave.
It's also why Strange Sights is my favorite event.... because of the boss battle against K (tried spelling it a few times, y'all know who I mean). Mind you, I typically load up Gritty for PVE so I have to be REAL careful to change teams before going in on K, because Kitty makes defeating him a real challenge. But THAT is the part I love and I wish they'd do more of it.
We've got Lost in Time now, which I also enjoy because I get to play/replay a boss battle over and over.
