The final whip of Moon Rider's chain pulls the last pirate off the elevated terrain and hurls him into the dirt below. With that, the battle is over.
You gather the unconscious bodies of the pirates together and place them leaning against the cliff face. In a little while they might awaken again, although you'll probably be gone. You could always finish them off, to be sure.
Bert the pirate captain has a serious gash in his stomach that is bleeding out. If nothing is done, he'll simply die on his own.
With the pirates subdued you investigate their little camp. Unfortunately, pirate raiders tend to be a spiteful lot, and after their captain was so readily taken out, Bobert decided that the battle had already been won, so he tossed their own supplies into the fire to prevent you from getting them. In the end, the only thing left was the remains of the boar and some charred vegetables that could still be edible. +5 Good supplies.
You can also take some of the pirate's gear, although some of it was broken in the fight. You found three usable items in all:
The letters in brackets correspond to which class can wield that gear.
If you take a piece of gear then it is equipped. You can unequip and sell it, trade it, etc, but you cannot carry unequipped gear. So anything not chosen and equipped will be left.
In addition, you find some Pieces of Eight. +2 PoE.
You also gained some experience points from the battle. Pirate Captain (75) + Pirate Crewman (50 x 5) = 325
325 / 4 players
Same number of turns = Equal split
Yes, agree, we can treat the wound and then leave them be. Hopefully there's karma points in there somewhere
Someone should at least take the Round Shield. Even though we might not use it often, it can be helpful if you only have to do 1 damage to finish off someone, and it'll help your defense.
Powerful Blow could be useful for me or Moon Rider. I could even do double damage to two targets I think, but it would further reduce my already low speed. Maybe Moon Rider can make use of it with already high speed?
I'm not sold on the Bronze Dagger. The -1 damage, especially without being able to turn it off, might hurt in some instances. Although we could try to take it for a while, and sell/trade it at a next opportunity?
