I've sometimes wondered why DC did that "Captain Thunder" story when Captain Marvel was already a DC property at that time (or at least being leased by DC from Fawcett); DC's Shazam! title was already being published when Superman #276 came out. Does anyone know?
yeah i know it was a alternate version of Cap marvel, but it was originally supposed to be him and last minute they changed it to Thunder. From all i read Dc just wanted to test the waters with Thunder. I think they just wanted them to meet but dindt really want either of them to be losers in the fight.
The selfish infect us all with sad, vulgar, sexual references and a constant barage of innapropriate innuendo. A pity to be subjected to this against our wills, but to allow it into our lives with open arms shames us all

Like I said, Capt Marvel was originally called Captain Thunder. Legal reasons abound as to why the name change. It was an ashcan thing, anyhow.
I'm still wondering, what would Billy be selling on the streets if he were created today? Drugs? His sister? Himself? I mean, it's weird to think about, seeing how times have changed since that era.
I was tempted to say Flash and Flash, the second being the first, Jay Garrick. However, I'll stick with the one, Barry Allen Flash and my other choice would be (cause you're a smartass and probably wanted a bit of misleading done) Captain Marvel

Right you are! Flash and Captain Marvel/Shazam were each the cover-featured guest-star in four issues of DCCP. (Okay, one of them was the Shazam Family, but close enough. My question, my rules.)
In the DC/Marvel crossover, which created "Amalgam" chars, the DC version of Captain Marvel was merged with the Marvel version of Captain Marvel. What name did the superhero have?

Your go, JTR!
I admitedly didn't know, but, I had to guess based on a few of the previous questions posted on these trivia threads. And something mentioned of the fights staged between Supes and Capt, Marvel.
