okay heres a question i just bumped into. Do you run Ha Des AND Necrofear, I always have and always will but some... person just deeply insulted my "inner fiend" by calling me a noob with fiends (even though i've used them for over a year now). he thinks Ha Des and necrofear belong in seperate decks... opinions people...
and damn, living in England (across the big wet pond, where we all speak posh etc...) we don get Shonen Jump i dont think, i'll have to find me a Gilfer or 2 on ebay.
<sigh />
I stumbled across that thread about the same time you did. 8^D In my opinion, you'd be silly NOT to run at least one of each in your fiend deck (unless you didn't have any, like I did for a while. 8^D) There are a plethora of reasons for this:
1) Cost - Ha Des is a single tribute monster, you only need one on the field. Necrofear requires 3 from your graveyard. 99% of the time your monsters are pointless once they hit the graveyard, so this gives them double functionality.
2) Effects - Ha Des will allow any fiend on the field to negate the effects of any monster it destroys. With the ever growing number of effect monsters in play, as well as nasty flippers, this effect becomes invaluable. Necrofear allows you some fiendish appetite to control your opponents monster as yet another gotcha (First gotcha - my graveyard servs a purpose, Second gotcha - I've got a pretty nice Beat Stick/Defender, Third gotcah - oooh, you destroyed my pretty lady, now I'll take over that monster in retribution for that)
Those are just the intial thoughts in my camp, there are plenty more. Heck, even if Necrofear required three from the field as a tribute, I'd STILL run both of them. A Change of Heart/Soul Exchange here an there, a few Dark Jeroid special summons, and they still serve a dual purpose 8^D
hello, let me ask if this idea is for a feind deck is posiable to run or it reqires to much.I hadn't seen it as i read threw there but then alot of pages i might of missed it. was thinking of doing a hand control type deck usind Mephist and helmpoer together. thought of running 2 helmpoers, 2 mephist, 2-3 dark jeriods, 2-3 bark of the dark rulers, and mabey some puppet magic of the dark ruler. i havn't written it all down yet but it was a thought i had so is it fesiable to run or is the 4 sacs to many to do it? i will try to get it down later on the deck forum later. you all gave me alot of good help so ambey can help me out with this to :)
Sure, a fiend deck can handle 4 tributes. But with the ones you're planning on running, try a couple of Cost Downs. Makes that Helpomer a lot easier to summon.
It sounds like a nasty deck idea, good luck with it.
4 should be fine. The nice thing about the fiends is that most of the standards are all single tirbutes, this is a HUGE efficiency bonus.
My current deck actually runs 6 tributes (1 of which is Necrofear). Then again, I also have it in a swarming atmosphere, so Ultimate Offering comes in handy.
One thing to consider, which helps a lot, is running some Skull Knight #2. It helps keep some field presence after tributing. In combination with Ultimate Offering, you can bring out the whole royal family in one fell swoop 8^D
Archon, dont even give it a second thought about what that other Realmer was posting. I can see their point of veiw, but they said it very rudely.
I run both Ha Des and Necrofear in my Fiend Deck. Heck, Im running a couple of Terrorkings too, athgar12, just like you. Difference is that I only run one of each of Dark Ruler and Blue Lady.
For those who werent following that thread, it pretty much boiled down to how effective it is to run 'multiples' of the above cards. that, I suppose, differs according to taste.
As for Helpoemer and mesfit, the two were made for each other, and in the right hands could be just..plain...mean. Id give you more of my opinion on it, but I want to go look at athgar's ideas right now.
My Fiendish Beginnings deck has been posted in the deck depot...Hope it was fiendish enough. Running 6 cards that require me to discard from my hand, I can't help but not only run three Night Assailants, but, also, one Sinister Serpent. Would be nice to give it a good kick to the rear, but, I wont until I convince myself I don't need it after some testing. Or maybe I'll convince myself I have too much hand-cost cards, and kick Back to Square One in the rear...Then I wont need Sinister....Then I'll have three extra spaces in my deck. Neat! I know where I can stick three new cards if I want to add something.
I guess I will keep my name, and I guess it is a good idea for everyone to keep their names, so as to proclaim their roots. A whole cult of people on this thread, Waldo, Squid, Pyrofire, maybe we'll attract someone with Fairy in their name, Dillie, bunches of people. That'll represent how powerful the powerful powers of darkness are....Devlishly Devlish that is.
I've again worked on my fiend deck, and this time im tyrying to include mefist and helpoemer, but until i get a cost down, im not sure about them^_^
oops
my bad, ill just post a link^_^ http://yugiohrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=397249
I think thats the link^_^
any comments? Ive been working on it, but i seem to have a few problems, i was thinking 1x less necrofear
Cool! I had my first duel with my deck, the Beginning of my Fiendish Beginnings Deck, and it was fun! Infact..Fun..In a..Very guilty way... More on that later.
The opponent brought my LP down by half with a Sacred Crane. My first hand had NO monsters, except for Painful Choice. I Painful Choiced, picked Archfiend of Gilfer, Night Assailant, Mystic Tomato, Confiscation, and Sinister Serpent...He let me have Night Assailant. He sets a monster, I destroy it with NA, and then his Sacred Crane, which was reduced by 500 from Gilfer, starts to have fun with my LP, until I finaly draw a monster. Later in the duel he pulled out a Blue-Eyes White Dragon after tributing a Paladin for it. He didn't attack wiht it, and I proceeded my turn by Snatch Stealing it, but, if he DID attack, and hit Mystic Tomato, it could of wrecked havoc.
The Mystic Tomato he would of attacked if he chose to attack if he did attack had two Archfiend of Gilfers on it, since I didn't want them to lose their cycling abilities, and there was nothing else on the field for them to attach to. And hey, why not reduce Tomato by 400, it's easier to kill then, even though it was in Def, which was 100 with two Gilfers on it. If he hit Tomato, BOTH Gilfers would of moved over to his monster, reducing BEWD to 2000...And with TOmato's efect, I would of got Dark Jeroid, reducing BEWD to 1200....Fiendish! Archfiend of Gilfer is awesome!!! I also made VERY good use of Interdimensional Matter Transport. Had my Mystic Tomato dodge a Ring of Destruction, stopping Ring totaly.
Another sweet incident that happened, right after he tried to Ring my Tomato, he summoned a second Sacred Crane. Now he had TWO! One at 1600, and one at 1100, thanks to Gilfer. I had a Second Gilfer in my hand, and a set face down Raigeki Break................Can you see it? He declared is attack on my Tomato with his 1600 attack Tomato....Bam! Raigeki Break, discarding Gilfer from my hand, and destroying the Gilfer equip on my side of the field. Both Gilfer's re-activated, latching onto the attacking Crane, reducing it to 600......Good bye Crane! Then, the two Gilfer's move onto the other Crane, reducing that to 600 too.It would of been such a knee-slapper if those Cranes were instead a Jinzo, or GAF, or pair of Gemini Elves.
But, back to the me reducing BEWD's attack to 1200 again. When I realized that could of happened, I thought back to Dillie-O's article, and he is VERY right. Fiends DO thrive off of chaos. My duel was a prime example. If my opponent chose to attack, it would of caused his BEWD to drop to 1200 attack and curl up in the fetal position, begging to not be harmed. Of course, he probably never would of attacked, because he realized his BEWD would of lost atleast 1000 from the Gilfers that Tomato would throw at him. He did waste his turn, though, summoning a BEWD, and doing nothing with it. Just a nice 'ole pretty wall. It was funny, though, when he did that...I had Snatch Steal, Change of Heart...AND Creature Swap in my hand.
I was almost afraid to be claimed a cheater by my opponent. After I stopped his attacking Sacred Crane, leaving my LP at 4900, EVERYTHING I drew perfectly counter-acted what he did. He Rings my Tomato, I IMT. I Raigeki Break my own Gilfer, and discarding Gilfer, and sending them into this endless parade of them running over monsters. Then, I snatched his Blue-Eyes, his only line of defense....Actualy, I didn't only fear him calling me a cheater...I felt guilty for killing him so badly and so easily! So guilty I felt as if I had commited a sin...Guilt, that, felt so pleasently pleasent. ::Shivers::
Yes, as you all can see, I have a habbit of rambling, and I'm insane. But, I'm here to stay! ::Scuddles off to do some more Sinning::
And Double D'oh! I tried to enter this reply, and it told me it needed to be atleast 50 characters. This is the FIRST time I had to BS enough characters to get to 50.
The progress of your duel reminds me of how my own Fiend Decks tend to perform, themselves.
In that vein, I have a question for all Fienders out there.
EDIT: *(have to remember to hit space bar, not Enter)
Anyways, the question was:
How do you feel your deck performs during the duel? Is it more effective in early game, mid game, or late game??
This is important to know for all the "reactive" properties of fiend effects, that require your opponent to have monsters, something to target, negate ect. As well as identifying what we are weak to.
Mine tends to rally after a few turns and does exactly what BeyondLegends just discovered..dominated. But, if I am facing a Warrior Swarm, Zombie, or other field controller deck, it may take longer. Against control and Burn, I find that plays are inconsistent on both sides. But in the end, my deck will pull out massive late game wins.
Good insight! That was some of the issues I was looking at while I was against my arch-nemesis over the break. He had a dragon deck that would swarm pretty fast due to the Lord of D / Troop Dragon / Element Dragon (or whatever that new dragon searcher is) and I would be caught in a stall. Similarly, his other deck was a control/lockdown using Messenger of Peace and a few traps like Needle Wall, Ordeal of a Traveller, and Robbin' Goblin to keep me at bay. Of course as well, he had all the "direct damage" attackers and in a particularly nasty blow, he got his Jinzo out and equipped it with the Shooting Star Ceal Bow (whatever), which dropped him down below the 1500 cap and allowed to attack directly, meanwhile negating traps in the process.
And I'm sure we've all guessed by now that in general, Skill Drain is a nasty bugger against fiends since that's what we like most about our fiends, is their fiendish skills. Granted there are a decent number of fiends to abuse that with, but in general it hurts us dearly.
There are a couple thoughts to counteract these scenarios. One is our own swarming. I've had pretty good success using Ultimate Offering / Life Absorbing Machine / Skull Knight #2 to build a presence fast on the field to get an aggressive edge. Having Mefist out early is a HUGE advantage since you can start thinning the hand.
The other idea might be to essentially take a bruising yourself. Get those Jeroids out early and have them lower themselves, either as bait for a Bark of Dark Ruler or to get yourself some Necrofood and attacking out early. Granted this approach may require some extra dedication and faith in your fiends, but I've paid myself up the wazoo or taken several hits early on to get myself down to 3K lifepoints or so, but then I have the fiendish action ready to make my opponent suffer. My RFP style fiend deck has been great for that. Inferno Tempest followed by a RFtDD having a pair of Goblin Kings and Gren Maju Garzetts spells instant death for the opponent! 8^D
So those are a couple thoughts to help counteract the "early stalling" that can be a killer to the fiend deck. What other ideas are out there? I'm sure ByserSquid has some EXCELLENT insight he wouldn't mind sharing.
