Wodow on Cap AV8 on DV12, needs a 4. She gets a 6 and Cap is KO'd and moved back to his starting space. That should ensure it takes him a full 3 turns to follow Beast.
For my next round team, I'm going with the line up for the New X-Men, with Storm thrown in to make up the points I'm short:
V Beast 80
V Jean Grey 50
V Cyclops 78
U Professor Xavier 92
V White Queen 94
E Logan 49
V Storm 52
Interesting team. I might have fit in Xorn instead of Storm but Storm never gets much use so good call.
I really wanted to play the doomed pair of Mantis and Swordsman but can't seem to get the era to work out points wise so instead I'll take the Heroes Reborn era right after the fight with Mrogan Le Fay.
Captain America V 62
Vision 112
Scarlet Witch E 35
Moondragon 71
Binary (Nova) 133
Justice (Cosmic Boy) 45
Hawkeye E 43
The choice of Storm had it's strategic uses - that particular line-up of X-Men has no fliers. Plus, Xorn is nice but he's out of my price range. I mean I could have played around with the points for the other figures and fit him in I'm sure, but I already used many of them in their E version earlier, so that would be odd that they hadn't improved and V White Queen was the only one that made sense in this group.
Using Nova for Binary is inspired. Wouldn't have thought of that.
Anyway, I'll set up:
V Beast X14
V Jean Grey W17
V Cyclops X17
U Professor Xavier W16
V White Queen X11
E Logan X16
V Storm W11
Objects roll is 4, so I'm going on the assumption that you're going to beat me there. I'll put HO in R17 and LOs in Q16 and R15. If you actually roll lower, I'll replace a LO with a HO.
He had changed again. Now he was even less human, more bestial.
"I smell do-gooder," Wolverine observed.
"The Avengers," Professor X agreed. "I can sense their presence as well. Too bad. I was hoping that we'd be able to avoid conflict."
"Well, if it's a fight they want, the X-Men will give it to them," Cyclops declared.
"Here we go again," the Beast thought. Though at least I seem to be getting closer to the correct time. Emma was here, these uniforms, his leonine form meant it had to be fairly recent. Hopefully, that meant this portal would be the last. He crossed his fingers.
"Well well well," says Moondragon, "Interesting...".
"What is it, baldy? Personality test come back and found you ain't got any?" Hawkeye adds slurping a soda.
"I can make you run naked through the mansion again," Moondragon says, "But we all enjoyed that less than you."
"Moondragon," Vision added logically, "What is the problem?"
"The X-Men. They are here to fight us. Beast and Captain America are trapped in time. We're the guinea pigs to get them through."
"The X-Men, hmmm." Vision evaluates.
"Wow? We're gonna fight the bad guys?" Justice asks.
"Stay calm," the Scarlet Witch stays with a tone that relaxes him right away, "We're Avengers, we'll get through this."
Binary flares up. Her power feels off but she doesn't want to say a word. She wants to impress her old team, "OK gang, the X-Men it is! Avengers Assemble!"
"Is that Carol?" Storm asked. "I thought she had lost her Binary powers."
"Yeah, well, she got 'em back obviously." Wolverine said. "What are we waitin' for? Christmas?"
"Careful, Wolverine," Xavier cautioned. "If it is Binary, her stellar powers could incinerate even you."
"Yeah Charley, but to hit me, she's gotta see me, and if I don't wanna be seen, I ain't gonna be seen."
"X-Men," Xavier sent telepathically, "back him up, but keep your distnace until we know for sure what we're dealing with."
And then, to the Beast alone, "is there something you'd like to share with us, Henry?"
"Too clever for me by half, Professor," the Beast replied with a warm smile. "You always did know who it was when I raided the cookie jar." In a split second, he allowed Xavier to read in his mind all that had happened and his conjectures about it. The professor relayed the information to the others.
"Whatever it takes to get you home, Hank," Jean said, "that's what we'll do."
"You heard the lady," Cyclops announced. "We've got a job to do X-Men. Move out!"
Storm landed not far from the Beast, carrying Emma Frost. Emma put her hand on the Beast's arm and smiled at him.
"Yeah," Beast thought, "for someone who used to be one of our worst enemies, she turned out all right."
Great I see you're online. I'll be home in about 1/2 hour. If you're on maybe we can get somewhere on these games. If not, I'll at least have a reply (whoo hoo exciting Friday night kinda guy).
