But your argument (the one that I responded to, that you quoted out of context) was simply that you wanted things as they have been for the past couple of years. Sorry if it's a surprise to you, but that is NOT a good argument.
But just because I want things to stay they way they are does not mean that I don't like change. I can see how you could make that mistake though. I wanted things to stay the way they were becaue the way they were was GOOD. It was better than the way things are now. I didn't not want THIS change because I'm averse to change in general, but because I see this particular change as a change in the wrong direction.
I've said time and again that I view this particular change as a bad one, and I've given many reasons why, I just didn't think it was necessary to reiterate why in that snippet you quoted.

Sorry, but as one of the 'fence-sitters' (one who doesn't care which way WK does it), I am more convinced by those who are saying that spoilers are harder to avoid than you are making out. They make their way into threads that don't have 'spoiler' in the title. To deny that is to ignore what has happened on this site for the past couple of years.
Of course not all threads that contain spoilers have "spoiler" in the title, that's not a rule that this board enforces, however, you SHOULD know which threads contain spoilers and which don't. Anything that has "Supernova" in the title for example, probably spoilers.
Besides, what are we talking about here? We're talking about DIAL spoilers. The full character listings are out there, they're in the worldspace, and available for spoiling. WK's policy change does not effect that, and does not prevent people from being spoiled as to who's in the set. All it DOES do is prevent potential spoilage of the full dials of said characters, and I think that most people would realize that they were in a thread that might contain full character dials of Supernova pieces, and if not, they can learn to avert their eyes as soon as they see rainbow colored blocks. Unless they have photographic memories they shouldn't get too spoiled that way.
Ooooooooooh, do I hate this one, because it's an arguement based on dismissing the validity of other people's opinions. No, it's not about hating change. I hate how when something changes, and people complain about that change, people that like the change go "oh, you just don't like change (and therefore aren't worth paying attention to)". Bull. This is not about disliking change. Change can be good or bad. I LIKE good changes, but this is a bad change, and I dislike BAD change, because the results are a worse state than what existed before.
This is a bad change, and I don't like it.
He's right, you're not. It is unfair to PREVENT people from viewing spoilers they want to see, when they do not in turn FORCE you to view spoilers you don't want to see. If spoilers exist, you have the OPTION to see them or not as you see fit. If they do not exist then we do not have the option or seeing them whether we want to or not. You do the math.
Unless your argument is really that it's fair to ask people who don't like full set spoilers to avoid HCRealms for half the year? If that's your argument, then I can see it; we just disagree.
Its just not true that you have to avoid the Forums for half the year to not have things spoiled.
On the WizKids site, I have studiously avoided reading about what happened in the Justice League cartoons and Smallville as I have been working 2 jobs and wanted to buy them on DVD when I had more time to watch them.
For the last year and a half that site has been full of spoilers for that show and yet, this week I bought Smallville season 5 and watched the first 12 episodes, and I was amazed at all the things that happened. I didnt have a clue about any of them.
I still don't know anything about who or what is on Justice League when I buy the new seasons of that.
I have constantly been in the off topic site and I just avoid the ones that refer to that.
I just can't buy this argument. From personal experience, it is just not true.

That's cool. To be honest I can't really tell you what happens on other fan sites, because I don't have much experience with them. I'm basing my experience on what has happened historically on this site. Based on that, I can't discard their arguments out of hand. This is just a case where you and I disagree, which is fine.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash

I wasn't asking you to. I was just suggesting that you STICK to more compelling arguments like those. Feel free to ignore me in this...I don't really have much stake in whether or not the arguments you make are convincing.

Okay, I'm done trying to convince folks that both sides have merit.
To be honest, while I don't much care whether Wizkids stays this course or goes back to what they've done for the past couple of years, my leanings will always be towards more spoilers. I like spoilers. And I require that the company AT LEAST give me a list of the figures that are in the set (preferably with pictures) before I make my decision on how much to buy. I'm certainly not one of those who will be avoiding HCRealms (or even certain threads) to avoid the spoilers.

Even if the magazine has a couple mistakes, they still show all of the sculpts and generally we get an answer from higher up if someone is incorrectly listed.
Gacy's - I hope you're right....I hope that the Supernova set would be a mistaken-free instead of mistaken-prone like Armor Wars (quicksilver, Dazzler, Crimson Dynamo's missing ## on first click, Shaman, Crystal and Iron Monger, etc) and Sinister (Charcoal, anyone?).
Anyway I plan to attend two pre-releases event in Sacramento and hopefully no mistakes!
I was thinking about going to a pre release, even though WK has already dumbed that once fine tradition down to just another local Saturday tournament that happens to cost a lot. Now this carp? Who in the hell is going to a pre release and plop down big $$ to play with dials they have no idea about? Not me, that's for sure.
I would really love to know why WK is determined to remove every last vestige of fun from the pre releases.
And there Wade is your feed back.
"Ah well, who wants to live forever....Diiiiiiiive!!!!"
Personally I want to be slightly familiar with the dials otherwise the game is pointless...
You have NO idea what is on the dial so any strategy you come up with could suddenly become useless because of later dial powers....It makes the games between two decent or above players nearly pure luck...
Heroclix 5th Anniversary: Expect Nothing...you won't be as disappointed that way.
First...everyone and their mother getting psychic blast....now this?
Thanks for ruining Supernova.

So the ability to adapt should not be a part of the game?
If some of you people do not like knowing what all of the figures
are before you open them, then DO NOT GO! Leave the fun that
some of have by not knowing what all the figures are to us!
/b1tch thread over.

It's not about adapting...adapting is when you miss an attack that you spent the last two turns setting up....
If you don't have any idea how the dials on your opponent's team are set up then there is no way to make any sort of REAL strategy...it's all just guess and check...
