Killer Frost explodes ice particles that shower Majestrix Lilandra until she falls. "One down...it's getting too crowded out here."
"Hey...!" the Vigilante says as the Super-Adaptoid throws him off of his vehicle and delivers a crushing blow.
"Agreed, Killer Frost. There is one more d---" the Adaptoid says. Vigilante thrusts his pistol into the Adaptoid's side and releases the trigger. "You may have gotten me but I'm gonna be sure to get you back."
"Try all you want, folks," Beta Ray Bill says, "We won't be going away, will we Strong Guy?".
"Nah," Guido replies, "I'm just gettin' all comfy."
You're reading Super-Adaptoid's power wrong. It's not as bad as all that. First you only have to take damage when you actually use the power. So he's got Impervious now. When you use Impervious to reduce damage, then you roll. Not until then. Then, 2-5 on a 2 die roll is still not that much of a chance to take damage. When I first read it I thought it was 2-5 on a one-die roll. That's a 50% chance - much worse. But anyway, no damage to him yet.
The other thing that I find really confusing though is when he can do it. It says when you give him a Power Action, you can use the power from someone else as a Free Action. Now under his other power, Attack Drain, it says to give him a Power Action, then as a Free Action it can use the power it steals. So since you're using a Power Action to steal and attack power, you can steal a defense power at the same time. Whether you can steal a defense power without stealing an attack power isn't clear, although if you're giving him a different Power Action, I suppose you could. I'm going to see if I can't get this clarified before I go.
Head swimming trying to get my brain around this. This has got to be the worst worded Special Power in the game. It makes Possession look like Toughness. So I guess it has been ruled that you can activate Defense Drain on it's own. So what you did is fine. I think. The Attack Drain continues to be really warped about what powers you can adopt and use right away and which ones you must spend an action just to adopt (Essentially, as I understand it, If you steal a power whose description begins, "Give this character a _____ action..." you can use it, using your free action to take this action. If the power description says something like "When you give theis character a ______ action..." you can't because you're not giving him the requisite _____ action.)
I propose we just house rule this for our games. When you give Super-Adaptoid (or Parasite for that matter) an action, any action, you can at the same time, as a free action steal an attack and/or defense power. The action can include using the power you're stealing. The character still risks damage any time it uses the stolen power. Again, as Super-Adaptoid hasn't used his stolen Impervious yet, he doesn't have to roll for damage yet.
Assuming that's okay with you, I'll take my turn now. Got to replace both Vigilante and Lilandra. Only surprise is they laster this long. I can only assume its because they weren't much of a threat. Enter Pulsar (with Pummel) and Kyle Rayner, new version.

She'll go HSS to L1 to attack Ghost Widow. AV11 on DV18. Gets 9. Ghost Widow takes 5 for the KO. Pulsar takes 1 for Arachnos backlash. Wow, that was just the kind of crazy plan that usually goes all wrong. Sorry to take her out so fast, but she's one of those figures you just can't leave in. Makes Pulsar a bit of a sacrificial lamb, but what can you do?

Two new heroes streaked through the sky to take up the fight. Pulsar of the Avengers and Kyle Rayner of the Green Lantern Corps.
"Another Green Guy?" Strong Guy asked, trying to catch a slippery Arcade. "Just how many of there are you?"
"You'd be amazed!" Kyle said, trying to hit Johnny Quickwith a blast from his power ring. Arisia joined him, but Johnny Quick was too fast for the both of them.
Pulsar meanwhile continues to infiltrate all the way to the villain's back line. "I'm betting a spooky looking creep like you probably wouldn't be especially fond of ultraviolet light," Pulsar decided, bathing Ghost Widow with the power of a small sun.
"Noooooo!!!" Ghost Widow shrieked as the light drove her away, dissipating into a mist.
"Well that's one good thing we managed to do here," Strong Guy said.
Orion pushes, Charges to L7, attacks Johnny. AV8 on DV16. Gets a 3. Orion gets a click.
Enter Jubilee
Cosmic Boy uses Contingency Plan to boost her damage to 3, TKs her to N13
Jubes RS to P11, double targets Johnny and Force, AV9 on DV16 +2 +1 and DV16. Gets 5.
Kyle on Force, Perplexing his Damage to 4. AV11 on DV16. Gets 6. Impervious roll is 6. Un-freakin-believable.
No time to do a story. Not much to write about anyway.

"A pretty good one, I'd say," Johnny laughed as he sidestepped Shatterstar's attack as if he were moving in slow motion. Which to Johnny Quick, he was. Shatterstar ran full tilt into the cage behind him. "Classic!" Johnny laughed some more. "I haven't had this much fun in years!"
"I'll show you fun." Arisia said, determined to prove herself. A fist rocketed from her power ring and delivered a powerful punch to Major Force's jaw.
"Oh bravo girl," Force said. "You were the first one to actually hurt me. I'll be sure they write it on your tombstone."
I guess Strong Guy is bound to do damage sometime here, better remove him while I can. Arcade outwits his impervious and attacks. Needs 4, rolls 5. Guido is now a Gui-don't.

As Strong Guy swings at Arcade he's suffers an electrical sting.
"Basic force field technology, but with a little kick," Arcade says. "But here, no hard feelings."
Arcade offers a stunned Strong Guy a boxed gift. Strong Guy turns it around to see the word ACME on it.
"Acme? What the hell---". The box explodes in his hands taking him out of the game.
"I guess Guido is now a Gui-don't," Arcade jokes. "I mean ACME, that should've been a dead give away. You need to bone up on your Looney Tunes, big boy, it's an inspiration."
