No, we want to maximize our ability to kill bad guys. Leaving a potential bad guy for another day, means that we put him on the back burner, should we get a lead on a new one.

oh I know about spinning circles just looking at Heroes game :disappoin but at the same time, I don't know who is Mafia. I believe that those people who would want to waste a free no "lynch pass" would be mafia.

but at the same time some people feel (with out any info) that MSU is mafia so those of us that vote no lynch could be mafia too,... the separation is because I could be wrong, with no info mafia members could be trying to save MSU, voting for him or just not voting at all. we don't know until we get leads,....

thats why if I had an investigative power I would use it on those who are voting for MSU,...

with 27 people what are the odds of him being Mafia, or SKer,...? I mean he could be, I rather find out tomorrow. we are not wasting anything by not lynching him, bc there is no need to investigate him he is dead weight. but an insurance policy just in case we don't have any leads.

if you can say that MSU is 100% Mafia. if he is town, and the day that we don't have any leads you are willing to be the lynch candidate. I will change my vote right now and vote for MSU.

The odds of any one person being a non-townie is close to 40-45%, in a lot of the games we've had lately. Furthermore, Ignatz has had plenty of practice in balancing Mafia games. The chances are actually pretty favorable of getting lynches done.

Yes we are. We're wasting a lynch. That's a kill, typically more powerful than NKs. It'll kill bulletproof and PGO players. And the town doesn't get very many of them, with 27 players in the game. The more you lynch, the more you increase your odds of killing bad guys.

It certainly isn't. You think him turning up as Mafia or townie matters? It really doesn't amount to anything. His lynch being deadlocked with a no lynch, when we've got 9 on him? That'll amount to something.

Aside from jealousy that he's at the DNC, I can't think of a reason to lynch him other than "he's not here but will probably be back for Day 2". If it was an extended LOA, that's one thing... but he should probably be back in time for Day 2 to participate.

So I'm not lynching him for "non participation". And I think it's a bit weird that we're doing so.

(Of course, watch him get lynched and turn out to be mafia, so I look bad in comparison. Whee!)

Most mods these days run with two or more Mafia teams. Being that this is the case, your 20% chance increases by quite a bit, because you could easily be looking at a 55/45 ratio, between town and non-town. The reason being that multiple mafias increase the chances a mafia will be wiped out, rather than decreases it.

And I say, as always, that I'm just as lynchable as the next person. If we lynch him, and he turns up town, and you all want to lynch me because I was so adamant about lynching him, fine. That's a logical conclusion, and it's progress for the Town.

I won't go down without a fight, of course, but I'd rather have you do THAT, than sit on your hands and keep a possible bad guy around for a rainy day. That's just ludicrous.

That's the first I've heard of this. So far, all I've heard is that he'll be gone for several days.

any other game, I would agree with you and vote to lynch MSU right away. but with the random lynching if we don't get a voted lynch is bad, we need at least one person to give up if we don't have any leads. that is why I am not voting for him.

people are going to be more willing to vote because of the random lynching and bc of it people are going to give up their roles and this gives the mafia a nice list of targets

well I haven't played in a while,... so yeah with two or more mafia's and pretty much 55% or less townies,... the odds of the town winning are low,... if thats the case here you might as well kill me now since we are going to get killed by the mafias anyways

Uhm, it is partially extended - he doesn't really get back home from the DNC until after the weekend, if I remember correctly.
