View Poll Results: What did you think of Final Crisis?
I loved it! Best event in a while!

It was liked it, but it wasn't as good as Crisis on Infinite Earths.

It was so-so. I liked parts but felt it could have ben better in others.
I Think if Grant Morrison has known in Advance he only had 7 Issues to tell a Story, he should have reigned himself in and consolidated some. Cut some extra characters out, cut some extra plot points out.
Reading Final Crisis 1-7 as a Stand alone is like trying to read a Map of the United States with a Microscope.
It makes NO SENSE, and you have no clue where you are going.
Too many plot points, get dropped, only to be picked up three issues later, characters show up, have 4 pages of dialog then are not seen again till issue 6.
Its all very confusing and annoying.
Like, Well there are too many Frivilous Self Serving Characters, I mean what Purpouse do the Japanese Super Heroes have? I mean lets look at this, They took up 30% of issues 1-3... what point do they serve from issues 4-7.
Why Include Frankenstein?
too much stuff was resolved in a 1 panel refrenced to that it get resolved (IE Wolverine Vs Lobo in marvel Vs DC)
For Example
How did Wonder Woman Free Herself? (Villian One Panel, Good Guy Next)
What Happened To Libra? (Gets Shot, but then they said he teleported away)
Who or what Is Mandrakk? (Where is this explained in Final Crisis 1-7)
Where Did Batman Come From? (Wasnt he Restrained?)
Where Did The OMAC's Come From (For One Panel)
Now, Before someone gets all Angry with me, I UNDERSTAND, the answers to most of these questions I Have read the other books, but the simple fact is you CAN NOT Understand this story without having to seek out and purchase 5-6 other books.
And I say Seek Out, because the stuff LABELED "Final Crisis" and have a "Final Crisis Style" Cover range from ABSOLUTELY HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STORY (Rogues Revenge/Rage of The Red Lanterns) to YOU HAVE TO READ THIS OR YOU WILL UNDERSTAND NOTHING (Superman Beyond) to WERE NOT LABELING THIS AS A FINAL CRISIS TIE IN BUT IT IS AND ITS REALLY IMPORTANT (Batman) to ARE WE EVER GONNA FINISH THIS STORY? (LO3W)
Say what you want about Secret Invasion, the Secret Invasion hardcore works as a stand alone story, which is much more then we can say about Final Crisis
sidenote: I Loved Rogues Reveng, RotRL, and Submit and Resist. they were all compelling and interesting stories.
I Just Wish, Honestly that Final Crisis had been a Complete story in of itself. The tie in's should added to the story not... what.. well they were...

You can be Great as Marv Wolfman or Mark Waid and write Great Events, or Be a genius like Alan Moore or Neil Gaiman and turn in gold every little story you touch.
You don't need to make a story confused to be understend for a "few". You need to make a GOOD story to be enjoyed for many.
To me the one who speak better is not the one who have more nice words. In my opinion the one who speak better is the one who can communicate what he try to say in a most effective way.
And Morrison fall big there.

Overall, issue to issue, I did not like it. I thought issue 5 and 6 were turn around points and then 7 came out and left me in the cold.
I hear I need to read Superman Beyond and a few issues of Batman to get the story...I shouldn't have to or they should have been included in the main story.
How did Wonder Woman Free Herself? (Villian One Panel, Good Guy Next) She didn't. Someone innoculated her. Pretty sure it was Frank.
What Happened To Libra? (Gets Shot, but then they said he teleported away) You got it.
Who or what Is Mandrakk? (Where is this explained in Final Crisis 1-7) Evil Monitor. It was in 7 for sure. I recall bits and pieces earlier in the series.
Where Did Batman Come From? (Wasnt he Restrained?) He escaped. It was mentioned in 4 or 5.
Where Did The OMAC's Come From (For One Panel) Mr. Terrific activated them. 5 or 6. Probably 6.
PMMJ: I'm not sure how I could rephrase that to sound more polite. Or really, what the need was. Just a suggestion is all.
Pax, I Knew the Answer to the questions. I Actually Wrote that in my Post.
and Many of those Answers are actually wrong...
Im Looking at #7 Right now, and I am looking at the 2 Panels where she makes the Transition and they do not explain it.
They Do Not Explain WHO Mandrakk is, or what he has been doing.
Batmans Escape was not mentioned in issue 5 for sure, It was explained in the Batman Series.
and Mr.Terrific Activated the OMAC's in FC:Resist not in the main series.
The OMACs are only seen in issue #1-7 for one panel. and its in issue seven.
But that fact that we can even disgree on When stuff happened kind of validates everyone elses complaints.
The panels mention something about the God Virus or whatever and then Frank being immune because he's dead.
Do you really need an explanation as to who Mandrakk is? Just look at him. Then they go on to talk about his whole plot for killing everything, and then it gets all meta-texty with him having drained the story.
Batman's escape was given a dialogue bubble in the main series. I believe Mokkari mentions it to Darkseid.
You don't need to see the OMAC's prior for them to have been brought up before.
I think it was when he was showing Question around Checkmate.
I can't recall what actually happened in Resist outside of some furry love
Like, I forget what the point of it was. Was that where Lord Eye was introduced?
Lord Eye was Intruduced in the Main Series, In Resist Mr.Terrific allowed, "Rogue Code" to possess OMAC's so they could defend the earth. Using the logic that if the earth was destroyed so would they
Rogue Code Being sort of implied to be Evil Computer Programs that were being held in Computer Jail
The panels mention something about the God Virus or whatever and then Frank being immune because he's dead. I Believe the explaination was that he was Immune to the Anti-Meta Virus that dialogue had nothing to do with freeing WW, it just explained why Frank could still fight when everyone else had lost their powers.

Then they go on to talk about his whole plot for killing everything, and then it gets all meta-texty with him having drained the story. Yea, I Do, Call Me Old Fashioned, But Darkseid was the Villian for issues #1-6 then this guy shows up out of no where. Yes, I Do want an explaination.
Batman's escape was given a dialogue bubble in the main series. I believe Mokkari mentions it to Darkseid. Oh Cool, One Dialogue Bubble, Thats resolution, Im Still not buying it though I am gonna have to check again, ether way, my original complaint was too much stuff was resolved on One Panel, Not that I didn't know that it had happened
You don't need to see the OMAC's prior for them to have been brought up before. This part is true actually, sense you only see them for one panel and they make a vague refrence that checkmate lost the battle anyway. but at this point why even include the OMAC's at all.
But that fact that we can even disgree on When stuff happened kind of validates everyone elses complaints.
This is my belief as well. If we need Paz to explain this much to this many people (and kudos to you, Paz, for doing your best here), then I think it's a failing storyline. If only one or two people seemed lost, then I would say we just have a couple of slow people. But there is quite a varied group here, and I'm guessing that at least a few of them have a fairly decent comics background.

Thanks!
I apologize if I came off as rude in anyway. I was at work, and didn't really have the luxury of going in depth as I might have liked.
Seriously though, the Batman escape is dealt with in one word balloon. It's there. It's hilariously brief though.
