me too!! my dice don't like me to run! they rather i fight my way out of a corner! when i decide to fight and not run, i usually rolls dbls(knockback..yay), or a crit hit! oh..and superman rocks! i don't mind actually using this one. attack doesn't = hit every time. damage will make ANYONE PAY, and move powers keep him all over the place. i could build a nice team around him, and in sealed, he'll be a monster.

This new Superman has an average attack of 9.3. (93 divided by 10) but the Vet Icon Supes only has a 9.27, the Experienced with a 9.1. It looks like you just completely shattered the argument that this Superman has a low attack.
Wait, why does he get rep? It was my point! =)
And that was exactly it. While starting with a 12 attack is amazing, so is ending with and never dropping below a 9. It's really bad for alpha strikes, but this Superman essentially never loses any combat effectiveness his whole dial. While Thor still has a greater attack overall, there's certainly plenty of figures that don't have such such consistent values and are over 200 points.
Looking over his dial, he's not horrible, but he's not great either. Consider that for 6 less points I can use CR Darkseid. I realize why he's expensive and priced at 216, just like the JL SR Supers was 283 points. I'd probably never play him over other Supermen we've gotten. Personally I'd have loved for the Alter Ego mechanic to say that you instead replace them with a Superman, but then seeing KC Supes or Vet Icons Supes replace him would probably be broken.

If you have to convince yourself and others that a figure is worth using, maybe it isn't worth using.
By the same token, If you have to convince yourself and others that a figure isnt worth using, maybe it is worth using.
HSS with 12 movment and and a range of 8. Whats not too love ok so maybe he starts with a 9 attack, so perplex or prob the roll if it fails, also speedig in for 6 or 7 damage on the first hit thats pretty brutal. Unlike many of the other superman heroclix he also has multiple slots of HSS scattered about I think after this guy is played a lot of people are going to be pleasently surprised.

OK, I'll give you rep too! Because it was an excellent point!!!

But why use Darkseid if you want to use a Superman? My personal team build style is like this, "I want to play this team from the comics... okay, who was on the team? OK, so I'll need this figure and that figure, etc. and I build my team."
I don't build my teams based on powers or abilities or what figure is more efficient that the other. HeroClix isn't about an arms race to me. It's about reliving the great stories told in the comics and becoming those super heroes or super villains for the moment.

Good point. I used to min/max but since the hiatus and I've gotten back into it, I'm much more theme team oriented. Supes/Clark don't have great keywords for me to really work with. Metropolis really only grants you other Supermen or chase Lois Lane. Reporter gives you a few more options, but mostly either other Supermen or Spidermen. Trinity might give some options that you can use the new Batman or Wonder Woman. I recently had a team of FCBD Iron Man, HOT Thor, and HOT Captain America so using the Marvel Trinity gives me some hope for the DC Trinity.

Of course he starts with a 9 attack, his pants are around his damn ankles!
Once he peels all his clothes off he's up to a 10.
Someone is clearly not noticing that this dial is made to the fan's specifications. I've seen many posts begging for Superman with RCE. And I've seen even more posts, particularly in units discussion, complaining about "Why does he have these 2 powers, they don't work in the same action, he shouldn't have both" Well in this case, when Superman loses HSS and has to just sit there to attack, he is rewarded for being stationary by using RCE for greater damage.
The Good:
4 clicks of HSS is a lot for Superman and the speed values are about as high as they come for such a cheap dial.
Damage value is as consistent as you like with not only 4s and 5s but powers that increase damage even further to 6s and 7s.
Many figures with HSS drop fast by either losing HSS soon or having weak damage reduction. This is one of the most durable HSS bricks in the game with SEVEN clicks of Invulnerable and quadruple 18 defenses.
The Alter Ego mechanic is brilliant and I love it dearly.
The pose is really awesome.
The Bad:
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this... Low attack values. For the cost, compared to HoT figures, the attack value is unimpressive.*
I'm not sure, gameplay-wise, if the AE mechanic is worth the trouble. But we'll just have to see. I AM looking into using Kent as MM fodder(as most people would)
*So help me, if WK makes an erreta or adds a trait to this dial to make it more competitive... I would, in reference to their submissiveness to complaining Internet-People, make that wh-KSH sound like the crack of a whip. AND MEAN IT

Two different figures. At least Superman has a chance vs. stealth. Everyone loves to make the 1v1 argument, but usually you aren't pitting 1v1 and usually going up against a team. Usually a team will have 1 stealthed outwitter (or range, or insert stealth here). Thor can't do squat against stealth except waste an action to go base, which then gives the opponent the advantage (this is assuming no Bright Lights BFC). Sure, the 9 kind of hurts, but someone mentioned the 10 extra points, right? 10 extra points gives you a lot of options on feats which can augment him. Hell, through protected on him, so Thor actually hits him. *ding* 0 zero damange. Not that I like Supes over Thor or anything else, but this 1v1 comparison is just nonsense.
I don't get what all the fuss about. Let assume, thor hit supes first. I miss my imperv roll. So i 3 click, that put me on my hss=12 ss=10 invul=18 and dv=5, I hss in to hit for my 5, thor takes 3 because of invul. Now thor on charge, quake and invuln with dv=4. So thor hit supes, i miss my imperv, supes takes 2 click. I still have hss with av-9 and dv=5. supes hit thor for 5 dv minus invul he takes 3 click, he loses all move/attack ability, that means i can position myself out of his movement range. Then to try to base me or if he in range to shoot me. Because in the end it going to come down to the last 3 clicks. But with the hss I would take any day of the week.
I'd rather use Superman than Thor in this example. But I'm not as much a fan of front-loaded figures. Superman is solid.
It's the Alter-Ego two-figure combo that is lacking, not the full 216-point Superman. Not because the 48 points isn't worth it (it is), but because for that 48 points you get nothing close to Superman, even Superman when he's trying to hide his identity.

The philosophy that WizKids should have stuck with since the beginning is this:
That no matter what point total you play at... a 300 point team should be about even with any other 300 point team, a 500 point to a 500 point, etc.
But this is not the case. Take a 500 point Infinity Challenge team and go up against a 500 point team from Supernova and up, and you don't stand a chance with the IC team, with the very rare exception of certain figures.
And I for one am glad for this.
If they'd stuck with the philosophy of dial design in those early sets, I would have quit this game long ago, out of boredom. I was on the edge before Seth took over dial design.
I'm not saying I'm for "power creep", but I'm vehemently against the hotion that game design should have been forced to stick with the thinking of those first sets. Those sets were the start, before the game really had a chance to develop...game design HAD to evolve from that point.
Am I totally happy with HoT dials? Not totally...they are REALLY good for their points. Am I totally happy with B&B dials? Not really, but that has nothing to do with power creep (quite the opposite actually). I chalk the reason for my unhappiness up to the change in game designers. WK literally used 3 different head designers for three sets in a row (these 2 sets and the one preceding it - AA), and we can see the results pretty clearly, IMO. Any time we get a new lead designer, we're going to be exposed to them imposing their design philosophy on the next set. I think that's what we've been seeing lately.
What we've REALLY needed since the end of the Jon L era is some consistency in the design team. We had that for awhile with Seth, and the sets really compared pretty favorably against each other in those years. Now that Seth is back on the team, I hope we'll see that kind of consistency again.

I an inclined to agree with you. I wish he had 1 Invul for the starting click(after orange line). But hey, it isn't bad if you just want a brick to hit hard.
