The problem with both teams is lack of reliable mastermind fodder. In a 400 point game Bruce Banner is likely to be 1 shot, 2 shot at the most. If Bruce goes bye bye before Hulking out, Darkseid is a sitting duck.
Squirrel Girl looks good on paper sitting in bush pumping out Monkey Joe's but it requires a power action. That means 1 out of every 3 turns Darkseid has no mastermind fodder to work with. Squirrel Girl, like Bruce, is also a one-shot liability. Especially with all the 150 point Supermen flying around. 150 point Supes + heavy object = dead Bruce and dead Squirrel Girl.
Lets also not forget Nightcrawler shenanigans.
I really believe Darkseid needs at least 500 points to truly shine.
Agree! But, bad positioning aside, I'll let Superman (or anyone else) take a head shot on Squirrel, considering Darkseid will have a free attack at that precise moment.
Imagine if Superman attacks SG with a range attack? Darkseid will fire back with 12 AV PB! Sounds a good trade off for me!
Having said that, I understand what you're saying. That's why I was asking you, the guys who play often, to let me know how this will handle the big guns (aka, the Supermen)

Two things come into play here,
1) Bad positioning will ruin this team
2) If they got within range or got close enough to k0 bruce in one hit(which a figure would need 5 or more damage to 1 hit Bruce.) then Darkseid will have the opportunity to retaliate.
With 11 range they cant out range him, with 12 attack he will most likely hit, and with psy blast and outwit he will most likely be doing his 5 damage to the brick who 1 hit Bruce. In my case I would perplex damage to 6 with James.
They key to playing the team at 400 is positioning.

Keep in mind Big Figure allows for a "Ranged Combat Attack" (or Close Combat Attack) as a Free Action, not a "Ranged Combat Action" which is required to use PB. So while Darkseid will get a free shot on who ever KO'd SG (in this example) it will NOT be Psychic Blast.

What Terman8er is saying that Darkseid will get a free shot, per Big Figure's SP, but he cannot use Outwit before that attack. So there's a chance he'll miss, say Superman, if he rolls his Impervious.

Right?

A lot of it will come down to the Map as well. If theres lots of blocking terrain for Superman to hide behind after popping people in the mouth, it makes it very difficult for Darkseid to track him down.

The thing is though Darkseid (using the team we have been talking about) gets to return fire (see: Big Figure) immediately upon KO'ing a figure. That means if Superman HSS's in, hits Darkseid and he MM's it to a pog then that pog is KO'd right then, before Superman continues his HSS movement. So Darkseid gets to return fire, before Superman continues his HSS movement.
And map be damaned. If Darkseid is carrying someone he shares a keyword with his Phasing means he can out maneuver Superman on any map. (giving the one carried a free shot once placed)

Right?
I was talking about with my team... not the big fig...
