I decided that what I was going to do was have the dial modded up, and glue whatever figure I wanted to the dial. Now, as I understand it, as long as the dial is absolutely accurate, then mods are legal; so these type should be as well. The only difference is, of course, the figure itself.
That's not quite true. Here is what the Heroclix Comprehensive Tournament rules has to say about mods:
Quote
1.2.12 Custom Sculpts: Venues may restrict or allow the use of custom sculpts for their events. A WizKids sponsored event will permit custom sculpts to be used with the following provisions:
1.2.12.1 The dial and figure base must be unchanged from its original form.
1.2.12.2 The sculpt cannot be considered to be a deliberate attempt to misrepresent the capabilities of the played figure. The head judge is the final arbitrator of this decision.
1.2.12.3 The player must have the figure available with the authorized sculpt.
1.2.12.4 Each round, the opponent must be given the opportunity to deny the use of the custom, in which case, the player must accede.
So if you want to play let's say a modded WL Flash at a Wizkids sponsored event (like Nationals or Worlds), the figure must be on an actual WL Flash base, and you need to have an unchanged WL Flash available to play if your opponent objects to the use of the custom figure. Also, the modified figure must not be misleading.
Venues may have other policies, and home games as well, but that's how it works in official events.
I've been having trouble with the chases mainly. I've been trying to find a WL Flash that I can actually afford. I also eventually purchased the chase Weapon X that I had been chasing after (over one and a half bricks and eventually purchased it) and sold it a month afterwards XD I realized that once I obtained it, I sort of lost interest in it I guess once the chase is over, it really isn't that much fun anymore.
I'm also looking for the old colossals. They look AMAZING, but I can't seem to obtain them for a decent price, even though it seems many people don't want them anymore.
Apparently there's an 88 point Judge Dredd promo out there. It's listed in the units section. I have the 83 pt. promo with the better dial. But if the 88 point piece exists, I'd like one.
I also have 3 of the euro-promos, Hobgoblin, Sabertooth, and Wolverine. I think there's a Spiderman and a Wasp floating around out there. I'd like those as well. Once again, that's if they exist.
"Big whoop, I'm spooning a Barrett .50 cal. I could kill a building."
-Sterling Mallory Archer
"Alcohol may have been a factor."
We're overdue for Wizkids to make Joe on the Lawmaster and other 2000AD characters.

I odn't think I have ever heard of "Euro-promos". What's their story?

Well, as far as that is concerned, I guess I would have to keep my mods to house games, and take my chances. If I could get the figure to have on hand to begin with, of course I would not then need the mod - per se.
[One point to that rule wording that is totally bogus is: "Every Round" - if the opponent agrees to the mods use at the start, he should not be allowed to complain about it, once he is getting his butt kicked, as to its use. Agreed to is just that: agreed to. It is not like the figure would be counterfeit, just modded, after all.]
By the way - I have to ask - What exactly is a "junk shot"? (Sounds kinda ugly.)

I have a Judge Dredd promo, Blue Ring, but I have never heard of multiple ones before. Not to say there isn't one, but I have tried to get my hands on what there is. So if there is a new one, then it is a 'new one' on me.

"Round" in this case refers to the rounds in the tournament, not the individual games. My first guy I play against may not have an issue with the mod, but the second guy might. If he does, he can demand that I play the unmodded figure instead.

It is very ugly. You don't want a shot at your junk.
HoT #16 Thor. Now I can always go to ebay or whatnot and buy one, but it seems that locally this figure is all but nonexistant and near impossible to get in trade.
I have almost the complete collection but some pieces are really like:
1. Hall Jordan LE Unleashed set. Six years to get it.
2. The first Martianmanhunter.
3. Paramedic LE I don't remember the name rigth now.
4. Batman Vampire
5. Generaly speaking LEs from the past format game. (Ultimates, Crtitcal mass, etc)
Oh, don't get me wrong. I WILL own them eventually, but I just don't want to buy them for full price. If my past has proven anything, it's that good things come to those that are patient and wait. I got both Crisis Chase Supermen for a combined $60, and a LE Bruce Banner and LE Rupert for less than $25 each. I now have all of the Chases. I will own all of the LE's as well. It's just a matter of time and patience. I need less than 10 at this point.
The Supermen were a fluke, and you know it. You couldn't get them close to that on a normal basis. However, I'd like to point out I bought my Superman 105 for 40 bucks and pulled Superman 100.
I keep thinking about liquidating my old Infinity Challenge set and such. It's not like I ever play any of it. Even Victor or Annihilus. However, I'm not letting them go for a discount. I paid about 75 bucks for Victor back in the day, and he goes for that (or more) to this day. But even though I keep thinking I should, I never go through with it.
