Magyar's advance team arrived to confront the iron golems. Harley Quinn, Desaad and Gorilla Grodd each held a leash that was meant to contain a large insectlike creature, roughly the size of a German Shepherd.

As they approached the large building that contained their quarry the creatures at the end of the leash became excited and strained at their leashes.

Desaad lost control of his and the creature rushed to the building where almost instantly they saw the building's infrastructure begin to crumble.

Harley Quinn, Grodd and the Githyankis led their charges to different parts of the building and soon the entire building seemed to collapse.

The Sentinels had only just increased their number to seven when the building that housed them began to crumble. This caused confusion because the Sentinels logic circuits couldn't comprehend the significance of the destruction of their headquarters.

The forcefields that were the real prison for Magneto, Wolverine and Sabretooth remained intact until one of the creatures finally approached the generator that affected the forcefields.

For the first in days, Wolverine, Magneto and Sabretooth were free.

Unfortunately Sabretooth's irrational hatred of Wolverine drove him to immediately attack his longtime adversary and distracted Wolverine from trying to escape.

Magneto; feeling vindicative, focused all his power on the hated Sentinels and began to lash out but soon discovered that the strange insects were even more effective against the Sentinels then his magnetic powers could be.

Within a matter of seconds, each of the Sentinels began to literally disintegrate while the strange creatures made loud noises that sounded decisively of contentment.

Before Magneto could lash out, there wasn't a single ambulatory Sentinel in sight.

Swamp Thing found the place just in time to see a bunch of giant robots crumble into nothing.

His sensitivity to the green told him that the unnatural insects he saw writhing in an orgy of ecstacy were responsible for the huge robots demise and that the creatures only seemed to be unnatural but were; for this world, completely natural.

He also was very interested to note that he'd found Gorilla Grodd so that he could try to bring the gorilla around to the concept; implanted by the Parlaiment of Trees, that all the displaced creatures needed to agree to return to their own world.

Before he could act on that notion, a strange creature arrived; apparently out of the ether with Hawkman and a plethora of other super powereed characters he didn't recognize and oddly, a bunch of cops(?) and some amped up swat team types.

The strange creature preened a bit and then ordered the removal of the Rust Monsters that were unusually sated right about now.

The Flash arrived next with Nightcrawler in tow and surveyed the scene.

Nightcrawler was astounded to see rusted out Sentinel parts lying around with some sections intact enough to attempt self repair but incapable of completing the act because of too much corrosion.

The Flash saw an odd array of villains, some that he recognised such as The Key, and a couple of Batman villains, Desaad and T.O. Morrow who was busily inspecting the Sentinel parts. (Magyar had extracted an oath of fealty from Morrow and had released him from any mind control.)

There were several other villains that Nightcrawler acknowledged were from his Earth.

The Flash was especially disconcerted to see Hawkman apparently in collusion with the horde of villains.

Nightcrawler saw that Wolverine was suspended in midair by Magneto while a slightly confused looking Sabretooth stood near the mutant leader.

Suddenly the crack of a Boom Tube rang out and out stepped Darkseid with three others the Flash didn't recognise.

Nightcrawler was further amazed to see the Toad, Avalanche and Titania show up with the grimmest, most menacing looking individual he'd ever seen since Thanos.

Just then the Bat Plane and an Avengers Quinjet arrived. Out of the Batplane came Batman and Aquaman and out of the Quinjet came Spiderman, Captain America, Hank Pym in his Goliath outfit, the Wasp, the Vision, Scarlet Witch and Hercules.

Medusa and the Black Cat spent the time after Nightcrawler had left with the Flash getting acquainted. They'd never met before and spent the time talking about superheroes, particularly Spiderman, the Fantastic Four and the Inhumans.

They went out to stroll through the city since it was a completely new city to them. The city was pretty well secure since the arrival of a Shield Helicarrier which had collected the three Shield agents and the Aim prisoners. Shield agents had spread out throughout the city allowing the Guard troops and the police force to stand down for some much needed rest.

It was quite dark out as the sun had set but the city lights were on and there were a few coffee shops and all night diners open.

The two heroines passed a dark alley when they heard a "psst" noise. Suspicious, the two women thought that their powers would be adequate protection and investigated.

They moved into the alley and were soon confronted by two women that looked at them with evil smiles. When the girls looked behind them, they found their retreat was blocked by two other women who had the same lascivious smile.

The women advanced on them menacingly and that's when Medusa and the Black Cat noticed the sharp extended canines and realised these women weren't ordinary women.

Moondragon began exploring with the brutish Blastaar in tow , working her way toward the unknown city she saw on the other side of the lake when she came upon the starship that she'd used to fly from Titan to Earth in her first campaign against Thanos.

How could this be? it had been destroyed in battle years ago but yet; here it was, intact and fully functional.

She told Blastaar to get in and then she entered herself and started up the ship.

Securing themselves; She took off into space; setting a course for Titan figuring she could connect with Mentor and get her bearings on things. She would also decide what she might do with this monster that she'd inadvertantly become saddled with.

She was astonished to learn; once she'd broken through the clouds, that this Earth had a second moon.

What the? That couldn't be right! She reversed course to investigate the moons.

Wolfsbane had been searching the X-Men mansion but no one was there, not any X-Men, and not any of her New Mutants teammates.

She was grateful that the gnome Grimble Grumble and the halfling Blick Onstaff had stayed with her. She thought if she was all alone it would drive her crazy.

During the time they'd been there Blick had had time to make his case requesting help in seeking the rescue of his adventure team to Rahne.

Rahne was sympathetic but since there were no other x-Men on hand she felt that she would have to get the gang of heroes that she'd recently adventured with to help and she wasn't sure how to get in touch with them at the moment.

Rahne also discovered a suspicious device she'd never seen in the mansion before. She'd never been scientifically inclined and had no idea what the device could be for but it made her nervous in an undefined way.

She really wished her X-Men friends were here.

The Enchantress was concerned. She had many flaws in her character but in her heart, she was an Asgard loyalist. Right now, the only defense for Asgard was herself and a lovestruck teenage shapeshifter from an alternate Earth! She ordered the boy to become the most fearsome creature in his repertoire and guard the Bifrost bridge.

Beast Boy became went to the entrance of Asgard and changed into a Tyrannosaurus Rex. He then settled in to his duties as a gate guard.

After several hours of scrying, she learned that the entity known as Nightmare was accessable. She was not that familiar with Nightmare but she suspected that she could get some answers from him.

She decided she would contact him; but before she did, she wanted to fortify herself with several spells of protection and many offensive spells.

This would take several hours and she began prepping her magic.

Nightcrawler and the Flash began hurriedly comparing notes about who was who.

Once they got the goods on who was friend and who was foe, they hurried to their respective friends and gave each a hurried briefing.

Hank Pym quickly grew to a height of 25 feet and Janet Pym shrank to the size of a wasp.

Captain America kept his eye on Darkseid, who was too similar to Thanos for his comfort.

The Vision recognised the Controller immediately and since he was familiar with his M.O. turned intangible and began freeing the cops and strangely armored swat team of the devices that controlled them.

The Flash had been briefed on the Puppet Master by Nightcrawler and slapped the clay figure from his hand, which freed Gorilla Grodd who immediately began raging at his recent mind control and began threatening a terrrified Puppet Master who was scrambling to retrieve his clay.

Hercules saw a worthy adversary in Grodd and charged him shouting "Prepare to recieve the gift!" before locking up with the enraged ape who was so angry, he forgot about his psionic powers and linked up with Hercules mano a mano.

Goliath and the Wasp began harrassing the Githyanki Warriors that Magyar had brought with him.

Captain America and the Scarlet Witch began tying up the Blizzard, Harley Quinn, the Key and the Constrictor.

Aquaman engaged Clayface III while Batman kept his eye on Darkseid and the group he'd arrived with.

Nightcrawler tied up the Toad and Avalanche while Swamp Thing moved in to keep Titania tied up.

The Flash moved on from the Puppet Master, heavily concerned with Hawkman and trying to get to the bottom of his erratic behavior.

Sabretooth leaped in front of Batman and soon found himself faced with Spiderman as well.

Magyar began raging that things weren't going the way he'd planned but unfortunately for him, he was targeted by Darkseid's Omega beam and no longer had much say in the matter.

Magneto continued to keep Wolverine suspended in air while he began having a serious discussion with Darkseid.

The Black Cat realised they were faced with vampires and she became worried. She'd never faced vampires before and hadn't even thought they were real.

For Medusa it was worse. Attilan didn't even have legends of vampires. This`was all totally new to her.

To the vampires surprise, Medusa was especially adept with her hair and easily held the two on one end at bay.

The Black Cat hoped her bad luck powers would be sufficient but she wasn't feeling extremely confident. suddenly her two adversaries were distracted by a blonde that tore through them as if she were one of their own. She threw the Black Cat a wooden stake and after throwing one of the vampiresses down on the ground, Felicia capitalized on the situation and drove the stake through the prostate monsters heart.

The blonde woman did the same with her vampiress and then she threw some stakes to Medusa who caught them with her strands of hair.

Medusa dispatched both of her adversaries at the same time.

Day 5: Late evening at the lake near Midway City.

Elektra was toning her ninja skills. She was practicing tumbling through the air when she suddenly found herself in an unexpected environment she was not in before she began her tumble.

Immediately on her guard, she landed and finished her tumble brandishing two formidable sais and looked for whatever threat might have been responsible for her unexpected situation.

She looked up and saw a Skrull looking at her with a completely disdainful expression.

"What? You seek to threaten me? Foolish woman! I have fought the Fantastic Four and defeated them. Mar-Vell and the mighty Thor tremble at my name. And you think you could be a threat to me with those?"

He paused and studied Elektra for a bit. "You have heart, you are braver then you are smart. I respect that. Don't engage me mammal. if you value your life. It will only end badly for you."

"I am Kl'rt the Super Skrull. You have no chance with me. You will die if you engage me! Don't be a fool!"

With that, the Super Skrull flew off without shape changing, leaving a bemused Elektra to contemplate just what and where she actually was.

The Flash was having trouble orienting on Hawkman to bring him to bay in case he was being mind controlled as Barry suspected he was.

The Vision was having great success freeing the cops and the strange swat team members while the Controller was scrambling to try to regain control. With each freed slave the Controller became weaker so the Vision was gaining an edge with each freed slave. The Controller was unable to regain his slaves because he couldn't catch them again once they were freed. The victims scrambled away once they were freed in order to avoid being controled again.

Eventually the Controller became shrewd and began guarding the remaining slaves but couldn't combat the Vision's intangibility. He constantly lost ground until he no longer had any enslaved cops or the swat members. Once they were freed the Vision directly engaged the Controller and managed to subdue him.

Eventually the Flash managed to free Hawkman and he began pulling himself back together.

Hercules knocked Gorilla Grodd completely out and turned his angry attention to the largest foe he could see, which happened to be Darkseid.

The villain called Whirlwind began collecting the other villains and when Darkseid summoned a new Boom tube, the villains were gathered by Whirlwind and Darkseid; who didn't like the look in Hercules eye, loaded all the supervillains gathered by Whirlwind and took them to the relative safety of Apokolips via boom tube.

Magneto decided that Wolverine needed to make the trip long with them.

The remaining heroes breathed a sigh of relief and Aquaman and the Flash thought the guy who thought he was the legendary Hercules did a fair job of filling Superman's shoes.

Nightcrawler was dismayed that they were unable to free Wolverine.

And with that folks, I've introduced every character I want to from Clobberin' Time.

Don't despair that the F.F, Dr. Doom or Thor didn't show up. I need to save those heavy hitters for down the road.

Think of this as a comic book soap opera that won't get cancelled.

Next up in Cosmic Rumble Part 4, I'll be bringing in selected characters from the Explosion set.

After that, I'll have a real challenge adding the Indy set in part five.

Part six, we finally return to DC where some big name characters will show up. At least a couple.

Actually, it appears I have a few loose ends to tie up before I move on to the next Cosmic Rumble installment.
