Stephen Jackson is not an addition to any team. By the time he was done in Golden State I along with most of my fellow Warriors fans were ready to pay another team to take him. He I believe Pacers and Bobcats fans (if there is such a thing as a Bobcats fan) felt the same by the time he left. He is a selfish player that takes bad shots at bad times and takes more than a few plays off during a game. Maybe the past few years have humbled him and his demotion to 8th man will make him wise up but if there is a chink in the Spurs armor I think he is it.
The guy has some skill but a player doesn't get traded 8 times in just over a decade because he is a good fit. Also you should have seen the uproar on Warriors boards after the recent trade brought him back for an afternoon, Jefferson is not great by any means but when Jackson got dumped for him I am sure the sigh of relief coming from the Bay Area was audible for miles around.
I totally agree with you about Diaw though. He is a great two way player that was a steal of a deal for the Spurs.
As a Pacers fan during the "Dark Age" of the nasty boys, I think Jacks still has some left in the tank. He's NEVER shyed away from guarding the best player on the other team, and he's only a few years removed from his best seasons. He doesn't need to carry the load anymore.
He's not what he used to be, but Spurs don't win that first game w/o his defense on KD in the 4th.
As for his attitude, if ANY player is on a winning team, the fans love them. But as soon as they start losing, the fans turn on them. It's the business of pro sports. Artest was liked in Sacramento when he first showed up because he gave them a little hope, same as when he went to Houston and they FINALLY got out of the first round. And recently, LA as well.
Well, if it is Spurs/Heat... I give it to the Spurs just for the coaching differential.
I'd go along with that. OKC v. Heat is actually a better matchup for the Heat, I think... but, I still think the Heat lose to OKC as OKC has better overall talent, and I think Durant/Westbrook measures favorably to Wade/James.
Haters gonna hate! Ready for the Sig bet this year Mal?
I actually really like OKC in the west. Them and the Grizzlies are quickly becoming my favorite west teams.

Stephen Jackson & Ron Artest are pathetic human beings...

I actually expected more from a supposed Celtics fan. I was hoping that maybe you had the basketball IQ of a NY fan, but turns out you have the basketball IQ of someone who knows very little about the game. I expect that someone like you gets it from your father, but I really don't want to go down that road with someone who has problems spelling simple words like "loser."
If I really wanted to deal with a simpleton, I'd stay and chat with you. As it is, thanks for the brainy repartee involving the finals, and welcome to my ignore button.
It's easier for me to deal with people whom are being rude if someone reporting the post doesn't decide to follow up with their own... retort..
*edit* neglect the above 2 lines, I t was a 5am mistake.. But the point remains, use the report post button and not sling insults back..
So from here out consider this a warning to anyone tossing rude comments back and forth.. Next time infractions for anyone who wants to insult their fellow posters..
I know in sports threads you're going to get some back and forth "trash talking" but we can do it in a less personal level for sure.

Sorry, but I never reported that post, so please don't paint me there. The post I reported was from a spammer, and I would expect you as a mod to know the difference. So please, go back and research that and come back and tell the truth this time. I didn't need to report it because I handled it on my own. You want to quote me and make me look like a tool. Not good form my man. I also have a PM box iif you want to say something more to me and I'll be glad to address you there.

You are correct.. A slip up at my part at 5 am.. my apologies..
Regardless.
The warning in the thread remains intact.
Report the post instead of slinging insults back.
Since I doubt you nor the original insulter wants a warning from this thread, consider this the "warning" that doesn't officially show on either of your records.

Sorry, but I didn't feel the thread warranted a report. I answered and put him on ignore and moved on and got an unofficial warning for it. Classy. And yeah, now you can go ahead and give me a real warning for your "5 AM slip up," that you are now trying to save face with.
Maybe now we can get back to actually dissecting some games and players.
I think Stephen Jackson had a world of talent back in the day, and he's still a very viable option. I don't know what happened to Artest. I saw him play when Univ of Miami was still in the Big East and St. John's came down here to the Arena. He was amazing back then and was the last graduating class from St John's that meant anything.
Back to last night's Heat Celtics game. I've been hearing on the TV and radio this morning about the disparity in foul calls and not one person has referenced the words of Doc Rivers and his players following their game 1 loss. Basically, "No more easy baskets." So the Heat which has driving slashing players get fouled as they go to the rim and hit the foul line for almost 20 more attempts than the Celtics. Mission accomplished guys.
The fans and the talking heads need to stop complaining about the disparity and check to see what really happened. The Celts did exactly what they said they would and now fans and media are asking questions about Lebron taking almost as many free throws as the entire Boston team.
Didn't watch the game but that is a lot of disparity between calls.
Boston fans noted Rondo getting hammered on a drive to the basket in OT that didn't get called as one of the more important biased non-calls where the stats are already high. Basketball had a noted ref situation a few years ago so I'd say its a legit complaint.
Hockey has had a few games that drove me berzerk because the power play disparity was 8 to 1 for the home team. That referee crew didn't get to do any rounds of next year's playoffs because of that.

That was a bad non-call, but that's the only one. Most times bad calls even out over the course of the game. Just before that play, or maybe just after, Rondo mugged Lebron on a play where they called a jump ball. The refs called the jump ball, but before that happened, Rondo had reached around and it was obvious it was a foul. Then Garnett came over and Rondo reached around a second time and this time got ball and the refs called a jump ball. It really could have gone the other way as well.
Gotta say though, what was up with Rondo last night? He played out of his mind in a way I hadn't seen since Wade took over the Dallas series when the Heat won the championship. That was a phenomenal game he played.
Does anybody know what dejuan Blair did to wind up in pops doghouse? He had 2 great games against okc this yr and hasn't been played in the playoffs very much. He started more games than any spur till diaw showed up and is at least as good as splitter (hack the Blair isn't as good as hack tiago)

I'm not hating on Blair. I wanted him here in Indy, but you don't play a 6'6" center in the playoffs, consistently (I don't care what the team has his listed height as, he's maybe 6'7" max).
