It did not start as a quest. Cause i don't use these figures. The unwillingness to respond accurately to me has me wondering what is going on. I don't think there is a conspiracy or anything like that. And i don't think anyone did something unethical in changing these rules. I just don't see the reason behind the change at all.
But most importantly, if i ask how the powers that be work, and who they are....i am meet with resistance and anger. That more than anything has me wondering...
That's because they do not want you to know the truth.
That truth is this: The only way to get an entry changed in the PG is to beat TechG0d at a pancake eating contest.
True story!

I love how inevitably every jackass who is pretty clearly trolling will pull the "What? I thought this was AMURICA?!? AM I NOT ALLOWED TO ASK HONEST QUESTIONS?!? YOU CAN'T CENSOR ME!!!" card
I never said any of that. They have the right to censor me. I have no rights to freedom of speech on here. I just find it odd that there was a rule change for a bad reason, and then the accountability and the reasoning is hidden and / or vague.
It's the phrasing of your questions about these things that is the problem. After you sort throught the misspellings and sentence fragments, what you're left with is ignorance, accusation, and insults.
An apt (and amusing) summary.

Yeah, but it didn't come from an orange, so...
I'm gonna need an autographed copy of that PG.

You thinking it was a bad reason does not make it so. (And before somebody points out how many people think its a "bad reason," that doesn't make my statement untrue.)
The accountability is not hidden or vague. The RA/RD process is common knowledge, and was explained several times within this very thread. You apparently ignored that. It's also in the official rules, which was also cited in this thread. And in case you missed even that, the rules forum has a stickies thread tiled "What's a Rules Deputy" or something like that.
You disliking/disagreeing with the ruling and explanations thereof doesn't make it hidden or vague. It means that you're less than willing to evaluate what's placed in front of you unless it's suits your predetermined views. This thread perfectly exemplifies this. You ignore or argue with everything that tells you what you claim to want to know, and you fixate on the single post that tells you what you really want to hear.

What bad reason?
What has been hidden?
The reason: The designers wanted the Nightwing figure to get the keyword for effects like the minion abilities. The end result did not do that, so they changed it to have wording which meets the original design intention.
So your "bad reason" is not bad. It is the same reason as nearly every errata issued: There was an error.
Now, you can jump on the bandwagon of those fools who choose to disregard this and begin formulating some outlandish conspiracy theories, but that IS the reason, plain and simple. People are just butt-hurt because while this usually results in an unplayable figure becoming playable, this one happened to drop a bit. Just remember that he dropped to where he was supposed to be.

Yeah! You tell 'em Harpua! Burn that butt-hurt fools bandwagon down to the ground!

Not too sure there was a "bad reason" behind this. Also, not sure how hidden or vague the reasoning is. The article, after all, is pretty clear:
Of particular note are how we’ve refined certain traits and special powers that might grant a character a keyword. It was difficult to know specifically when something would activate. Let’s take a look at two figures specifically.
If you want to understand the nuances of the reason for this change, go read the rules. The issues are pretty apparent.
Page 4
ASSEMBLING YOUR FORCE. This is the first stop in a game of Heroclix. You build your force.
PREPARING FOR BATTLE. This is the second stop in a game of Heroclix.
Step 1: Reveal Forces and Establish a First Player.
This is when Gandalf and Nightwings powers kick in: "When you reveal your force,...". Now, they have the keyword. Cool.
They never were technically Themed Teams because of the fact that the Themed Team rules on page 23 specifically states that a themed team is a FORCE in which all characters share at least one common keyword among the keywords listed on thier character cards. A force is defined BEFORE force reveal, not after.
They did this basically because everyone was NOT playing the pieces based on the written rules. I was doing it wrong too. Sometimes it's not until a mistake is shown to us that we truely understand our mistake.
As such, you go back to GD - Batman was evidently supposed to theme with Gordon. Nightwing and Gandalf were not supposed to be a part of every single keyword team.
They both have powers which specifically key off of shared keywords. This very well could have been the reason for thier powers being stated as such, not to make theme.
