My 11 year old daughter is hugely excited. I've tried learning YGO and she's tried learning HC; hopefully this will be a happy medium for us.
It's too early to be certain, but IMO this will be more of a stand alone game. I can see the character cards being based more towards YGO. I just don't know how they will incorporate life points into Clix.
Street Fighter brought special 1v1 rules, since there is a starter with this as well, I could see them incorporating life points somehow in some special rules.

YGO had a mini game and it didn't do very well, and this was back in the hight of collectable mini/card games in 2001. This was also back when YGO was actually popular with kids and the show was somewhat tollerable. (I had a young son at the time so watched it on occasion when he was).
I actually quit YUGIOH because of the players, and the love of clix, not the game. But now it's following me into clix. I'm quite upset by this cause its gonna bring in the d-bag players associated with yugioh. If it changes like that then I'm done with this game. YUGIOH players are just bad people.
Thats what Sentroid is for what better way to turn them away from the game when they show up with their Kuriboh team.
I don't care about the characters. Whatever, they're a couple of goofy looking weirdos with dumb hair.
What I don't like are all the Yugioh turds we always have to kick out of our game space. They'll have an excuse now to hang around and swear and not clean up and stink. They are the worst.

My point exactly. I went to a charity YUGIOH tournament on the 16th cause it was for my friend who's dying of cancer. The point was to raise $ for his medical bills. They stank, Cursed, entered the tourney, #####ed about prizes, didn't donate a damn thing and left as soon as they got their prizes. That's just dick! I personally didn't play. Just donated $$$ and taught some peeps clix. But man I'd love to go one on one with each and everyone of them and give em a piece of my mind and hand them a piece of their own ###
A lot of the ill will has to do with dilution of the brand. Perceived value is everything in a collectible game. One way to negatively impact that value is to stretch a brand to it's breaking point, and a sure way to do that is slap it's name on everything you can. If the customer starts to glean that you are just milking it, they don't see their dollar buying them what it once did, and will spend it elsewhere.

It bothers me because at some point I'll have to play against them. Currently I dislike playing against non-superhero clix and despise facing the Trek ships. YGO will rank beneath the ships.
And that impacts my enjoyment of the game.
I guess I can see that, especially for someone who gets to play a lot.
I don't get to play much at all anymore, so if this would allow me to play my superhero clix at all against any team (YGO, Trek, or even My Little Pony), I'm ok with it.
If this is how the majority feel at a venue, though, the fix seems simple. Just don't allow the other properties. I've seen a lot of people ban the resource dials because they are not popular amongst players; I don't see how these are really any different. Just hold Comic age games that only allow Marvel and DC.
Yugioh creatures are for the most part just random fantasy stuff. You guys will probably get more generic zombies, knights, bug monsters, ect.
Ignore the Yugioh name and just pretend it's just random, made up stuff. You won't know the difference.
Can't say you convinced me to spend what little money I have on stuff I don't like, instead on stuff I do like.
Just stating an opinion folks.
As far being called a bad sport for not wanting to play against YuGiOh clix, as it is I have stopped playing heroclix at my venue due to that the standard format does not allow pre-carded figures. If YuGiOh gets embraced by my venue, then I am definitely done with playing heroclix at said venue.
You all have fun though.

One of the venues I go to had a Yugioh tournament on Saturday. This is in Salt Lake City. They had 280 people show up for this tournament. The biggest Heroclix tournament that we've ever had there was maybe 14 or so. Granted the Yugioh tournament was a special event but the amount of players that this could potentially bring into the game is huge.
