God, he rolled me in my daily money leagues this week. That and Victor Cruz...every week I play somebody else he goes off. When I start him....#### all. I hate that guy.

OMFG Tony Romo!!! Totally carried my team this week. Insane points, especially since I got him in like the 12th round. Value town baby!
The negative rep of Romo makes him a very good value pick if you don't like the big X QBs. I don't mind Romo so when they started mentioning he was chasing history I was like " they jinxed him ". He looked very uncomfortable on that sack and then of course the interception too.
Romo's bomb to Dez Bryant brought us to within 2 points/yards before Foster increased the score later.

(Man, that was an amazing waiver wire pick...)
My dad is a Bears fan and had him last year or the year before...looks like it was too early.

That is what Mike Wallace is doing to me in this league.
I almost feel sorry for Tony Romo (y'know, balancing it is the fact he's a multi-millionaire quarterback of "America's Team", great looking, amazing atheletic ability, women throw themselves at him...). He played a game that in all other circumstances would go down not just for him but most any QB as "a legendary game"...he not only had the game of his life but of pretty darn near any QB's life. He performed "the dream game".
He just happened to be against "pick a direction and I'll score points" Peyton Manning who was better. Even on the best day of your life, there's always someone better than you out there and Romo just happened to be facing that guy on that day. So, instead, everyone's talking about how Romo blew it.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Except that it's not just that he was facing Manning and needed to probably have the ball last to win. It's that the team was in a position to potentially win a big game after his amazing performance....and he choked. AGAIN.
All he had to do at that point was manage one drive, not make the big mistake and he probably breaks the all time single game yardage record, moves the team into field goal position with a shot to win the game and no one is saying anything but how awesome his nuts taste.
Instead, he gets baited by a rookie LB, throws a pick that ends the game because with Peyton on the other side of the field, you WILL NOT see the ball again.
Romo is the anti-clutch.

I dunno, I'd say the 11 players on the defense are a little more culpable than Romo in this case. HOW many points did they allow again?
Granted, I'm not a big Romo fan by any means, but pinning the loss on him is shortsighted. But then, football is a game where single players don't make the difference that they do in, say, the NBA. If you lose because the opposition scored 51 points, the first place you need to look is your defense.

If Julio Jones is out that is going to SUCK for my one league that I have him in.
But in that league I have Adrian Peterson, Fred Jackson, Demaryius Thomas, and Julius Thomas. So I guess instead of killing people I might have to win some games by less than 20 or 30.
But that still sucks. Having the top 2 and 4 receiver in a PPR league, along with the top RB, and top 3 TE. I was really thinking outside of injuries or people just falling off I had a good shot to take that league.
I know it's still early, but that sucks!
I did manage to get that Williams WR from the Cowboys off waivers this morning. I was shocked that it went thru considering I was last in line for waiver.

Sure, but how many defenses are stopping the Manning Machine right now? It's absolutely a team game and you can't pin the loss 100% on Romo's shoulders, but in that situation you can't make that throw. Period. Especially if you want to be an elite QB, you have to protect the ball and make that drive count...and he didn't do that.

And if they don't have Romo they lose by at least 30 points. I'm not saying it's a bad throw, I'm just saying that alone did not cause them to lose the game.

I agree with you on the bolded, though I'm still saying Romo is the epitome of choke. And, in all honesty, looking at Denver's defense right now without Champ Bailey and Von Miller, just about any competent QB can put up yardage and points on them, so...take that for what it's worth.
For reference: Check their passing D numbers. They are last in the league in yardage, near the bottom in TDs allowed and are giving up nearly 350 yards a game. Even tossing out Romo's game as a statistical anomally, they are still horrendous.
I'm still picking Romo to continue his good play and light up Wash's D this weekend in fantasy land, but if I was putting together an actual franchise to win real games...I'd be looking elsewhere.

I don't really care either way about Romo. I don't think you can really look elsewhere, good luck getting a QB better than he is. He is way better than a lot of the QB's in the league. There's zero chance you would find anyone close to him in free agency, and the cowboys can keep him and fill other needs thru the draft, rather than drafting a QB that will most likely not be as good as he is. He isn't the greatest, and chokes or whatever, but there's no way you can build around anyone better than him from the where the Cowboys are sitting.
But just to comment on using Denver's defense as proof that Romo is somehow less good. Dude of course they are giving up massive amounts of passing yards. First off it's a pass friendly league, look around at what's going on in every game. Second, and most important, teams are throwing the ball insanely more against Denver because it's the only shot they have at coming close to winning.
What are teams going to do against Denver when they are basically never punting, and scoring almost every drive, run the ball? Good luck with that. Teams are going to pass against Denver nonstop in hopes to keep up. The defensive #'s for Denver are extremely deceiving IMO.

I'm not really going to argue the Romo point. I'm not saying he is a bad quarterback, only that he doesn't have....it. That indefinable something that some guys have that makes them winners. Eli when he is turned on, Peyton, Brady, Montana, Elway...the ones who make the team better and have the ability to make the plays when they need to to win big games. Romo doesn't have it. He chokes. End of story.
To the rest of your post.....seriously? Name one other team with the offensive weapons and as good a QB as Peyton? Don't worry, I'll wait. Your plan is to basically throw the ball, giving them more possessions and hope to outscore one of the greatest QB's of all time? Real smart.
And yes, the league is gearing more towards the pass which is why you are seeing higher numbers, but good defenses are adapting to defend against it, and bad defenses still give it up like a drunk girl on prom night.
You have to run the ball to keep the Doncos off the field or you will get shredded and lose. You also have to get pressure on Peyton, which no one has been able to do consistently, thus the 5-0 start. You aren't going to win a horse race against them, I guarantee it. You know who has a legitimate shot at beating them right now? The Chiefs.
They have a solid defense that can get pressure. They have a dink-and-dunk west coast offense featuring J. Charles who can also run between the tackles and grind the clock. And they hae a QB in Alex Smith who manages the game, puts together long drives, and doesn't turn the ball over.

It's hard to have a legit conversation with someone about sports when they start calling teams names like Doncos. It pretty much means they are a fanatic of a team. Who's your team man? So glad I'm not a fanatic about a certain team and can look at things objectively.

Funny you say that as I'm not really a super fan of any team, I just use things I think are funny...
Grew up liking the 9ers and Bears, but really just because Joe Montana and Walter Payton were my sports idols as a kid. Now I live in Carolina and go to Panthers games, so I follow them in a fan-ish way but not really fanatical. I just love football!
Edit: I was going to let this slide buuuut....
I find it ridiculous and vaguely insulting that you refuse to discuss the content of a post simply becuase I used an abbreviation instead of a full team name. Moreso, reading into that that I must be a "homer" and refusing to see the validity of my points and blowing them off as fan boy based is just lazy and, as you can see, inaccurate. Don't assume. If you disagree with me, fine. Let me know why and we can discuss it. Or, if you don't want to, don't engage. I really don't care one way or the other, but don't be dismissive.

Where do you live at in NC? I moved here almost a year and a half ago. My brother moved down in March. I live in Carolina Beach, right near Wilmington. My brother is a huge Giants fan, he went to the Panthers/Giants game. His first NFL game. What a brutal one for him to go to hahahaha.
