I've attempted to get into contact with Laura via the Chamber of Commerce. Babies R Us has them listed on their baby registry as Mark Watson and Laura Cline, so I think those are the parties we're dealing with.

Just as a note per the USPS complaint website after submitting a claim it states:
" The U.S. Postal Inspection Service gathers data on mail-related crime to determine whether a violation has occurred. While we can't guarantee that we can recover lost money or items, your information can help alert Inspectors to problem areas and possibly prevent other people from being victimized. U.S. Postal Inspectors base their investigations on the number, substance, and pattern of complaints received from the public."

So if Mr. Watson (or Cline or whatever) has ripped you off, I urge you to file a claim as the only way an investigation may be started is if the inspectors receive a number of complaints showing a pattern of fraud or habitual issue.

Did you get anywhere with that?

Still haven't heard from Mark Watson since Wednesday night, where he promised to mail my stuff Thursday morning. Left three or four PM's since then, and eventually filed a report Saturday night.

Hopefully I get my stuff back, or at least some monetary reimbursement. (sent over $130 worth of clix to him).

Not yet. I'm planning to call today.

Any updates on that? Did it eventually show?

The Granada Hills chamber of commerce has confirmed she is out on maternity leave and not available. I have politely inquired as to if they'll forward my contact information to Laura.

I sort of want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, that maybe he had the best intentions, and the arrival of a new baby just sidetracked his plans....

but given that he's tried this two times before as well probably means he never intended to follow through and the timing is just coincidence.

Anyone know any of the local newspapers out there? I gotta believe that the house belonging to the executive director of the COC being used in a mail fraud scheme has to be worth something to a reporter. Maybe making this public will motivate him to return the rest of the stuff...as far as I'm concerned she's open game too....

Petty? Really? Its her house and the number he has provided to people is hers. So he's made her an accomplice. I'll have to include her info on any mail fraud reports I provide since she's at the address too.

Its called consequences....with a full answering machine at her phone number (provided by him) there is no way she isn't aware this is going on. He's tried to defraud people for thousands. Maybe the public should know what their Chamber of Commerce Executive Director has been involved in....unless of course he wants to man up, return some PM's (He's ignored mine for the last week) and return what he stole to the rest of us. Most of the info we have is provided by HIM. Sorry I'm not prepared to see the rest of us be ripped off...I just don't trust USPS to take a Canadian complain seriously.

No. Don't. The last messages I received from this theif was that he wasn't trying to scam anyone, okay fine. However when he sent back my packages I asked what I was expecting. He stated it was my pieces and that he did not have the other piece for trade. He is outright scamming people.

I agree with the idea of not defaming innocent bystanders, but by using her address as the USPS mailing destination of the packages, the kind, compassionate person that is Rising Against / Fubar / Spaceage has involved her in his improprieties.

As the baby mama, hopefully she has more influence over him than we here on the 'Realms.....

It appears like he has been sending the pieces back in batches. Yes it sucks we got scammed, and i understand you want your stuff back but be patient. The second you start harassing someone's pregnant wife, is when the law is no longer on your side. Shipping this many packages back has got to be pricey. i know that's his problem not yours. You need to understand, someone who was trying to make a quick buck off of all of us, is going to do things on his time table not yours. While its not as satisfying, if he hasn't sent your stuff back go the legal route. File the correct paperwork and let the authorities do their job.
