I'm poor and what little money I have is tied up in me moving, which I am worried about mostly because there's a woman I like a lot here.I don't know what I am doing.
This post comes off as Heroclix hubris though I know you don't mean it that way, vlad.
Heroclix is a blip on the gaming radar. I feel like the 1.5 mandatory grid is an exception to the rule and when most role playing games either have no required grid size or use a 1 inch grid I would have assumed that was the size.
That doesn't even make sense. Nowhere did I say that I thought the grids should be 1.5" or that I expected them to be, which would actually be hubris. I did the exact opposite, and looked around to see what they would be, because I know that other games use different scales. My only complaint was that they didn't clearly state the information.
So by what bizarre definition is that hubris?

Well, I know at least one of the people helping to run these events participates in medieval reenactments, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

That's most likely what it is, but some people think it's more fun to just be angry at anything wizkids does and make up conspiracy theories. I find that curious.

I know that, and guess I should have typed it the color of attempting to be funny because the Marine will not get it otherwise.
In theory, I have nothing against WK event or the RoC.
After participating in a local RoC event there are issues.
Did you post about this before? I can't remember what you said if you did, and I'm curious about the issues actually observed by someone that attended one, which I feel carries more wait than all the people that say how "unfun" they are without actually going to one.

Overview of the local RoC.
1). I was one of 4 locals to attend with 12 from out of town. That in itself is not an issue, but we have about a 30 player pool now w/in a 35 minute drive.
1a). Lots of cost and bluster, but poor turnout for 4 of the 5 events held within 30 minutes of here.
2). A group of players that came were discussing their plans of collecting as many RoC points and distributing/sharing them to a couple players to get them the spot at the DragonCon RoC.
I think the RoC Points should somehow be non-transferrable for seeding purposes.
3). I get that some people want a competitive play environnment like Magic, but running the same basic format as WK seems counter productive. If you want WK style play, play in a WK big event, the RoC had/has a chance to break from the typical Meta and has not not. I am under no illusion that whatever the format the Meta will adjust to it, I was just hoping for something innovative.
4). A certain individual's (HB) ego has grown again and he has gotten even more arrogant. I met him at the Legacy Pre-Release and for a long while we (playgroups) travelled between each others venue (90 to 120 min drive). He and his son were such a poor losers against me in the finals of the Clix Event at DragonCon that I called him out on it and he refused my handshake after the match. Really just avoided him since then, and did not play in a different RoC event here in town becasuse he and his son showed up to play. I came in saw him, said hello to everyone and told them I had my kids in the car and just wanted to wish everyone good luck and left. He was his typical self, according to those I spoke to who were there.
I once even considered him a friend.
Terry (or Termin8or) though is good people, much like Bud used to be.
Nope doesn't bother me at all. I like to play and our prize money doesn't go to us. Tell me would you like to spend 10 to 20 hours a week for free and then not be allowed to participate in something you created. Do you also get upset when Tiger Woods hosts and wins his own tournament? We are competitive players who have no advantage over any other player, get no special treatment at tournaments, and do everything for the community without any compensation. Chew on that.
I added the bold to the post. That comment was made by the RoC Director, on this forum.

Interesting.
Rightly or wrongly, part of the reason I avoided the ROC's was due to my finding HB and Termin8r objectionable here. (as well as a lack of confidence in my ability to NOT heckle them about security footage and cashbags IRL).
