So has anyone been working on Black Garden for the new format? I'm trying to figure out how well exactly the deck stacks up against Gladiator Beasts and Lghtsworn. Historically Lightsworn has been a bad match up for Black Garden Plant decks, however with some tech here and there maybe that can be worked around. The deck probably can't outgun Lightsworn but it still might be able to control them with some tweaks.
I think if there were, someone would've put something up...
Anyways, it can depend on the Deck...playing around with Aslla Piscu, Kaiser Colosseum, and whatnot in RGBT has shown to be pretty effective so far...at least for Black Garden.
I saw this flying around somewhere else on the internet and thought it was an interesting idea and worth thinking about in Black Garden. The deck can have a little bit of a rough time with Gladiator Beasts since they generally run a full playset of Cold Wave. Since the deck is already running three copies of Pollinosis you could stay with a set of Solemn Judgment to back them up or another option is something similar to what has been done in the past to protect Field or Continuous cards by running Dark Bribe.
Dark Bribe deals with Cold Wave, Heavy Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon and a large variety of other cards that would threaten the deck. It also shuts down the majority of enabling cards in Lightsworn. The only thing it really doesn't work against that's seeing a lot of play is Rescue Cat but Pollinosis could take care of that.
I'm giving Dark Bribe some thought, still undecided if I'm going to run it or not.

sounds good, since a player only gets one shot with cold wave per turn, but it might lead into drawing cards good cards as well.
What do you think of teching a Battle Mania in Black Garden plants? Could throw some people off and lead to a unseen death by getting alot of tokens on the field with Black Garden and Lonfire Blossom for example and forcing them to attack into something big or something of that nature.

I'd be willing to take the chance that they draw into something they need if it means their monsters attacks are still going to be halved.

I need to read the effect of Battle Mania again give me a moment. It could be decent if you have a Botanical Lion on the field, I just worry that it's situational and if you don't have the cards in hand or on the field to back it up Battle Mania it's going to be a dead card. It might be worth testing out if you have a chance.

forgot what I said earlier: run it. If you get a Tytannial, Princess of Camellias on the field with black garden against GBs, then they really only got their non-targeting spells/traps and counter traps left, and thats where this card can hit them. they might even draw into a gb (hopefully secutor, lol).

go for it and see how it does.
I think I'm going to, just need to tweak my build a little bit to fit it in. I can definitely cut my two copies of Wall of Thorns but I'll have to take a look at what else it makes sense to cut to fit another copy of Dark Bribe in.
This is probably my favorite control deck of all time. It plays a lot different than most control decks and can even run and gun if the situation calls for it. Botanical Lion and Tytannial are just too much fun and Dandylion is one of my all time favorites already.

Dandy in a plant deck is just too good. Easy to revive and can pay for alot of the costs for a plant deck.
I would love to try plants but its just too hard for me to get all the pieces, but don't let stop you from having all the fun.
Dandylion is still good in a bunch of Decks besides Plant; at the very least for field presence in using the Tokens for Tribute Summons or Synchro Summons. And given Dandylion's wording, also good discard fodder and whatnot.
I've found one of my favorite builds has been a Deck with Hell Bramble/"Queen of Thorns" with Chain Energy(s). Just to Normal or Special Summon 1 non-Plant-Type monster from their hand would be 1500 LP with just 1 of each. If I manage to get multiples...yeah. Eventually, if their LP is low enough, they couldn't even play or Set any cards from their hand except Setting non-Plant-Type monsters, then wait to Flip Summon them next turn, lol. Doesn't help that I add in other burn things like Ceasefire and whatnot.
Dandylion helps quite a bit in Synchro Summoning Hell Bramble; Dandylion itself being Level 3 itself, so Copy Plant for the other 3 Levels and a Tuner, and that's it, lol. Or use the 2 Tokens + a Level 4 Tuner and whatnot.

I do like the idea of that deck and one of the things that I do look for when I'm playing is to get Queen of Thorns onto the field quickly if possible to make my opponent pay for any of their monsters that they may want to play. It's not always an option but it's nice to know that it's sitting safely in my Extra deck.
I'm actually really pleased with the type specific Synchros that have been released lately. Each offers a lot to their theme and most are very different from each other. The last thing I'd want out of this mechanic is a number of similar effects for each theme, that doesn't make the game any more interesting at all.
