I find myself wondering where classic JLA villans like Despero, Julian September, Dr Destiny, Kanjar Ro and more will fit in, since they were never in any version of IG or SS that I am aware of. I know they don't always hold true to this - witness Revenge Squad, which contained many people never in the real RS... and was missing most that were! Still, if we get none of the above because 'Circe' was in the real IG... I'll be a bit bummed.
Because these 2 team affilations are Legacy cards as well that means That there could be more room for unafil Cards in this set I wouldnt be suprised to see 6-8 Unafil guys in this set, I mean Guys like Despero, Amazo, and Such As far as I know dont really fit into a team.
I had 'Fire, Beatriz DaCosta' at #49 on my list and now that she's confirmed as DJL-048, that's pretty good evidence that my set breakdown from earlier is probably accurate.
That would mean there'd be plenty of room for Unaffiliated drops like Despero, Amazo, Kanjar Ro, Dr. Destiny, The Key, etc.
Fantastic art on Beatriz! I'm betting Ice is a 2-Drop and her Ally ability also does burn.
Prediction:
Tommorrow's Metagame.com preview will be the JLI version of 'Dinah Laurel Lance <> Black Canary' and be DJL-046.

Unlikely. Fire doing burn makes sense, because UDE likes to give characters with "fire powers" burn abilities (cf. Human Torch, Pyro, Volcana, etc.). Ice doing burn, on the other hand, makes little sense, because she has ice powers, and ice powers in VS-speak usually translates into interference abilities - preventing cards from readying (Iceman-3, Frostbite, Mr. Freeze) or interfering with resources (Iceman-6). Ice will probably be one of the two.
You're right about the flavor, but I'm basing it off this comment from the author:
"But what does Ice do? Well, lemme give you a hint – you’ll have to tune in here next week to find out. There is a little Ally going on there that leads me to believe that JLI is going to be playable."
"Burn" is probably a bad way to put it ... I mean more like "Direct Damage" in some form or another.
The regular "ice" powers we've seen don't seem to synergize with the strategy the author talks about. So maybe Ice has an ability that exhausts characters or negates reinforcement, to deal lots of breakthrough to the dome?
Dinah Laurel Lance*Black Canary: Blonde Bombshell was just previewed at metagame. She's in the JLI at DJL-046. Looks like the JLI have another resource destruction theme.
Hmmm, with only one slot between Dinah Laurel Lance and Fire, the available people could be Doctor Fate (either Kent Nelson or Linda Strauss), or Doctor Light (Kimiyo Hoshi). Uless they go by character name first, then there are a few more options.
Also, with Batman, Hidden Crusader (DJL-039) being reviewed on the Marvel DC TCG Yahoo list, it leaves six slots open between him and Dinah:
DJL-039 Batman, Hidden Crusader
DJL-040 Black Condor
DJL-041 Bloodwynd
DJL-042 Blue Beetle
DJL-043 Booster Gold
DJL-044 Captain Atom
DJL-045 Captain Marvel
DJL-046 Dinah Laurel Lance <> Black Canary
Well, since the name Dr. Light is already taken, Kimiyo Hoshi pretty much has to show up with her real name, putting her in the K's. And since a few different characters have been Dr. Fate, I'm guessing that we'll see real names, leaving room for Hector Hall in the future, as well.
The question that's on my mind is whether we should expect to see Elongated Man, or Ralph Dibny; I don't see a reason to use his real name, though. Which means I guess Dmitri Pushkin, if he's in this set, will be named Rocket Red, and so unique with the Manhunter Rocket Red.
I can see it possibly being Doctr Light, Kimiyo Hoshi, as recently revealed in Green Arrow, her light powers were sourced from his to begin with, so it could madke sense not being able to have both of them in play at once (although, they both were able to co-exist as Dr. Light's in comicdom)
And if they do use Dimiri Pushkin in this set, they had better distinguish him from the Manhunter Rocket Red, as that was Vladimir Mikoyan.
Well, something else to remember is that Elongated Man was not only a member of the JLI, but of the "satellite era" JLA as well. It's possible that Upper Deck, not felling that Ralph warranted multiple versions, made him a double team character and stuck him with JLA numbering, thus making room for the JLI's resident Russian.

That's interesting. I had assumed from the previews and articles that the dual affiliation would only be used for Legacy content, not "cross-affiliating" within a set.
That could really help to explain why there's so few cards per team though (looking like 38).
Ah, very good point. I keep trying to watch out for likely dual-affiliation cards, but I also keep forgetting how the dual affiliations will play havoc with our guessing games. I think of Elongated Man primarily as a JLI character, and so I'd just assumed that that would be his primary affiliation, but I guess we don't know the rules yet on how those will work.
If a character belongs to two of the new affiliations, will he automatically be numbered with the first one, or will he be placed with the thematically most appropriate team? And we've seen characters on a few of the new teams who also have legacy team affiliations, but these legacy affiliations have seemed like secondary teams. Is it also possible to have a Green Lantern legacy character, maybe, who is primarily a member of the GL team, and only secondarily a member of one of the new teams? Or, to group all of those together, what do we know for sure about how the dual characters are numbered?
