Calm down, calm down! First of all, yonger players are. We live on allowance. When we have job money at our disposal to buy cases, it isn't disappointing. As for giving my opinion, that WAS my opinion. My opinion is that UDE should lighten up, and let peoples combo's live. If they're so good, then everyone will make one and be in a fair fight.
it's not a fair fight when the winner is determined by a die roll, frankie needed to be banned. end of story.
To me the article wasn't all that exciting, I expected frankie to be banned and was a little upset about nenora for my skrull deck. I never used my skrull deck really anyways so eh, who cares. What really made the article for me was the entire EA darkseid...oh hellz yeah!
Meh, all that means is you have to cut some pumps for teamups... A nice trade-off to make to see Frankie Raye out of Silver age, no?
Oh, We ALL Saw this coming... not because it was stupid good, or anything... but because it is the fate of Frankie Raye <> Nova to get Harpoon'd...
HARPOOOOOON'D!
I mean perhaps Stan Lee looks like a sea captain, but I don't think thats the reason...
But yes, everyone mutually agreed Frankie was bad for the game. Casual players, you CAN still play them. UDE is not going to insepct your hobby league, and ban everyone in a 10-mile radius because you dared play Frankie Ray.
It's just so money tournaments arn't "Oh, wow, you drew 8 cards your build and have me screwed because I can't support the frankie combo. GG"
Nenora was a bit of a shock, but I understand why. Ban one 1 drop with overpowerful effect, gotta ban em all.
It's bad when young wipper snappers like me spend all of our hard earned money to get a pack, our rare is not playable...as well as our commons and uncommons now. They should at least have a mail in thing where you can mail in your stuff and they send you a random card of the same rarity.
She was broken ASK any Top tier player they will agreeif you can make a deck with frankie+ phantom+STTG to mill your deck on turn 3 that broken.
Yes, however the point I'm trying to bring to the table is that while yes, clone decks are dwindling, so are the availability to for actual "Theme" decks.
Dwindling is a bit of an overstatement though ... each card hits a couple of theme decks when there are many that still exist.

Now granted, I've never played Skrull, and don't plan to, but I can gather that since there aren't too many Skrull characters to begin with, a 1 drop is NEEDED.
At the same time, Skrulls are built around having as many different team affiliations as possible. Nenora would be packed more for being a 2/1 body, having [and giving] the Kree affiliation and being free that her skrullitude. The last part just made her able to get the bonus from their team up.
However, she can easily get replaced by other 1-drops with different team affiliations. Or heck ... Multiple Men so that, along with Wolverine, they can use Mutopia as an efficient team-up [many teams on a single card].

Same with Frankie Raye, but since The Punishers and Galan are available, I suppose there is no reason to complain.
It's just that I'd much rather see cards banned and QUICKLY replaced rather than just banning them because they are highly used.
(a) It's difficult, based on how sets are set up, to 'slip' a replacement in quickly.
(b) The card isn't banned "because they are highly used." The card is banned because it's way too powerful ... And it's highly used for the same reason, it's way too powerful. That doesn't necessarily mean that a card will be banned just because it sees a lot of play. That's only part of the evidence that a card should be banned [i.e. a common line of thinking by competitive players that it is a card you HAVE to pack/play/build around to compete.]

Are Heralds, Skrull, and Fantastic Four players garaunteed a playable 1 drop in Marvel Team-Up? No. Would it be nice? Well it'd make me feel better knowing the decks can work a little more consistently.
Heralds? I'd hope that they'd get Aunt May, Golden Oldie as a dual affiliated, but I doubt that's going to happen.
Kree? [Not listed, but Nenora is also Kree] I'm assuming most would rather a press character than a 1-drop for Kree.
Skrull? They can easily come up with more skrulls, it's just a matter of where they decide to put them on the curve. They might be looking at the 2-drop slot perhaps, as Warskrull is the only one there.
Fantastic Four? Perhaps not in team-up. However the Marvel set after it, Legends, features the Fantastic Four as one of it's teams.
Doom? [not listed, but Valeria is also Doom] Between Moloids and Boris ... Doom is set in both Modern/Silver and Golden ages.
Okay. I think I see the problem. And when I look at it that way, you guys are right. I'm not a competitive player. And I don't really want to be (although I'm sure I will be when I get my drivers license). I just like to kick back with my pals at the hobbie leauge, and have fun flipping some cards. I don't give a f*** if I win or lose. You guys however have things at stake, so it matters if you win. This is the problem. Now that I look at it this way, I can see your point. I'm sorry for the disruption. But I still think the "Frankie Ray's Fall" was funny ;)
And I have to say kudos to bibamofo for the rep he just gave me. I was gonna say that, but he beat me to it. Oh well. Here's to ugly fraking gold brick ***!!!

Hey, kudos to you for being mature enough to see the other side of the issue. Some people on here just can't do that.
And remember, while banned cards are not allowed in sanctioned play, you can still use them in casual play at the kitchen table and such. Just make sure your friends are cool with it.
He wasn't being sarcastic, just imagine what happens when you ban peoples $60 Enemies (some people have had to pay that much to get them right before a tourney).
"I know I made a big deal when cards got banned, but I think I can be a little mad at having usless cards that I paid 30 cents for."
dumb### alert! i ahte it when people post #### like this. 60$ my ###.
The next banned card will be we are legion. someone will make some broken jank with it. take it to pc sydney and top 8 with it and everyone will copy it. therefore this is the next card to be banned. enemy/mobilize/sttg will never be banned becasue everyone dosent have them. they arent broken combo cards that win games. they just help u hit the curve or whatever u need. search cards dont wingames or draw u 8+ cards a turn
