and tournament organizer system which is being upgraded across all UDE products.

!!!
YAY! Well, I think it will be yay! Have to say, been calling for this one myself for awhile. Okay, now I'm literally on the edge of my seat for this announcement.
One thing that isn't in our announcement, but is very imporant, is the demo team and tournament organizer system which is being upgraded across all UDE products.
This should greatly help the local tournament scene.

Now that is fantastic. What I'm hoping for, is a somewhat independent demo team system. I would love to demo Vs System and WoW, but I have no interest in YGO whatsoever. I was planning on learning the game just for the demo team business; I even bought a couple structure decks. But I'd rather not have to. :P
In any case, I can't wait. I know there have been some TO problems, and there haven't been a lot of demos, at least in my area. You guys are doing a heck of a job, and thank you!
We are indeed restructuring our PCQ program (basically eliminating them as they are, at least for this year).
The OP announcement is done and is in editing. I'm the reason it's late since I was constantly making small additions and wording adjustments to be as clear as possible. I assume it will be up between 5-6pm tonight (Pacific). There is some good news and some bad news, but generally it lays out the plan of how we're going to keep Vs. System strong for years to come.
Word,
Jeff
Just wondering, why not impliment the changes next year? granted, the announcment isn't up yet, so i can;t fully understand your reasoning, but why not let people want to go to syndey additional chances to get PC ponts if they don't have them?
I can fully support some changes for the better, pcq wise, but why not let people have their tournaments now, keep the things the same, even if there are some flaws there, so that way, a new pcq format/schedual would be ready for the comming year, as opposed to elimitating the now? It, IMO, is like pulling the rug out from some of the players. I don't think, as of now, there were any changes that needed to be made immidatly.
I know we seem impaciant, but that doesn't mean you have to whipe the board once the year has started...
I know the announcement is coming, but this may be the death toll for VS in St. Louis, as Upper Deck will not talk to the only store interested in running a Hobby League so we get no City Championships, and we were just starting to get new players into the game and slightly increase PCQ attendance.
I guess it's one last hurrah this weekend with the Mega PCQ's here. I better get my last point or I'm probably screwed for going to Indy.

I'd be very surprised to hear that we won't talk to a store interested in running Hobby League. Can you send me the store info?
The reason I am pointing this out is that we here in the NH Seacoast area(halfway between Boston & Portland, ME) won't have VS City Championships in our area because it is the same weekend as MTG City Champs. MTG will make a LOT more money for the store owner, so he is going with MTG. Is anyone else having this issue?
Just to clarify but Vs. City Championships are not slated for a specific weekend so your store can run them on a different weekend if they wish. The Vs. City Championship support comes in the March Hobby League kit.

Thanks.

Can they be ran during the week or is it weekends only? My local shop has its weekends dedicated to WOW, Magic and Yugioh.

Can't send you a PM so here's our story:
Sure, no problem sir.

The store had a different owner, and ownership changed over this last summer. From what I'm told by the new manager and assistant manager (Phenom 1 from the WoW 1-70 podcast on WoWRealms.com) the old owner stiffed UDE on payment for previous Hobby League kits.
The local player base has bugged the store to call UDE, but the message we're being told is UDE won't return their phone calls because they are on a black list for unpaid stuff from previous ownership. If they could get them, we could have VS Hobby League [and City Championships :p ] on Sundays and WoW Hobby League on another day.
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Man I am impatient. It's like when a tv station advertises they're going to show a teaser trailer or something cool like that during a show you wouldn't be caught dead watching anyway. You just KNOW it's going to be during the very last commercial break. Sigh.
