As if explaining why there's two entirely different card layouts in your Golden Age deck wouldn't be hard enough to explain as is...
Oh, yeah. That's gonna be a pain in the ###. "Wait...why does this have a moon symbol? Does this have something to do with Khonshu?" "It's concealed." "It doesn't say it's concealed." "Ummmm...it just is. Trust me." Similar with activate, a few other things. Not insurmountable by any means, but it's definitely going to be a pain in the ### to explain.

Huh? Who's going to ask you to explain?
I don't understand the issue, honestly. I don't remember ever realizing that the color of the numbers was different, and I surely never used it to teach people the game.
First off, I have no problem with the new card template. Not really 'excited' about it, but if it makes everyone else happy - well more power to them.
My only concern is the following:
"To fully initiate this beginning, Upper Deck Entertainment upgraded the very cards and rules of the game as you know it."
This really concerns me. What does this mean?
It could be nothing ... but it could be more than nothing. I could see this being a good thing ... or a bad thing. A really bad thing.
However, at the moment, I just don't have enough information - and I personally don't think something that sounds this major should have been 'teased' in the article.
I'll admit it, I'm worried, and I'm not usually one to cry out for more information about something, but I would really like more info on this as soon as possible.
I am definitely a fan of the new layouts. I like the new widescreen art, and I think adding the symbols will make quick reference to the cards that much easier. As for the problems with the cost color, it seems that it is really a minor difference since we already have the different color bars to differentiate the different types of cards. It will take a while to become accustomed to the new layout, but over time I think most people will come to appreciate them.
I don't know, the cards might be pretty hard to read in the shade. I guess it depends on how shady. Could you clarify? I am worried about the level of shade.
Also, could we play in a breeze, too? It's pretty hot outside, and I prefer colder weather.
I'm with you Access, that Boulder equip has me worried. If there's a rule-change that allows you to easily equip a 3-cost gear like that, we have problems.
