No, but it'll still be after MEV tomorrow and for 10 years hence. Then there will be a moratorium on "After MEV." And in 2021 it becomes "After MEV" again for a minimum of 50 years, but no more than 60.
isnt that what DCU was.....the vitural set that Gugs, lebeau and others put together?
It would be different if the game was officially cancelled. Right now, those are only "fantasy" sets. In the future they may be considered more "real" of we formed a community that agreed to play with them.
We would be in some sort of Mad Max post apocalyptic world.
We would band together and decide how to rebuild Vs. System society.
See, we would be really ####ing good at that. Think of all the bloggers, and Realmsers, and TCGplayers that would love to have input on something like that.
This game will not die, even if they stop printing it.
Op messed up big last year. Announcing Worlds to be 2 weeks after NY was a huge mistake & one of the reason for the low turn out.
Op has also messed up bad since the first tournaments were organized. Vs events should be held same time, same place every year. Lets face it guys the most successful tournaments for Vs were held @ Gen Con INDY & the reason why is probably because most people could rely on those dates & take off in advance to get there.
Worlds should have been @ Gen Con Indy.
IMHO I think we should have 3 events a year. We have 2 sets come out every year. 2-4 weeks after a new set comes out there should be a mega weekend to promote the new set. This would mean that some time in JUNE - JULY there is a Mega & sometime in DEC- Jan also. Then during Gen Con Indy We have a Worlds/ Super Mega Weekend.
I think these events should be planned in advance so everybody knows next year these are when they will be. One Megaweekend should be in L.A & the other probably should be NY.
If Ude wants to continue having low attendance for Vs events keep making plans @ the last minute so your average player cannot attend.

We would probably have a helluva lot of fun.
Now that sounds like a future I would like to live in :D
Well we could couldn't we? We could do a whole digital world of fun. We could band together and create our own VS program...no more MWS, hello VSWS :D We could create commities led by the greats of this forum to create new sets (DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Films, TV etc) all sanctioned by all to create a fair gaming style. New keywords would be our molluscs. All would bow before us! Obama would probalby phone us up to get tips on rebuilding the economy (try this Mr President - its the new 3 drop Mr. Money!).
I really hope that VS continues. UDE might be sucky, but they created a great game. In this climate that the world is in, I guess its possible that its game over. But hey, we should go inside. They come out in the dark...mostly...wait a minute, wrong reference.
Well heres to MEV (when we finally if ever get it over here) and to the future of new sets. If not, heres to King Stubarnes - long may he reign :D

I was thinking it would be fun to have an annual Stu Barnes Back Yard Vs Fest. Stu we could get people to RSVP to a VS event in your back yard. Everyone chips in $50.00 bucks in advance to cover the prizes.

This is Birch and I's contingency plan from day 1 lol.
Anyways, back to shift!
There are no planned non-Marvel Evolution announcements until after the release of Marvel Evolution.
Sit back and enjoy the show!

So yeah, no planned announcements UNTIL AFTER = no planned announcements BEFORE.
Which IMPLIES that there would be after because if there were no announcements to be made at all he could have simply said:
<snip>
I would really like to hear something from UDE too, but this is one of the reasons they are so hesitant in giving us info. Because we tend to over analyze things and get out pitch forks if we feel they don't meet the expections of their announcements. Heck, in this case it was just a post on an internet forum.
It's not my intention to call CaptainCuba out. Not at all. Just saying that if we had our posts scrutinized to this degree, you can bet we'd all be very, very cautious in making any announcements (or even posts on a fan based user forum.)
This is Birch and I's contingency plan from day 1 lol.
*Day 1 being the day DC was announced as doomed.
The insane thing?
They would need to announce the cancellation before we could get it rolling in earnest.
But, again, damn we would be good at it. You guys make killer cards, Lost Hemisphere and Full Body Transplant and all the other blogs do the voting, we start up an official site for the tournaments?
While what you are saying is true, I also understand Cuba's point of view on this.
Frankly, at this point, I think Upper Deck is hurting itself by staying silent. The current state of things screams out that Vs is dead. Short of outright confirming that Vs is in fact dead, anything they might say is better than a silence which merely confirms player's worst fears with each passing day.
The wheels just go round & round. The Yin must be Yin & the Yang well whatever.....
All of us want an announcement.
Stu is just being Stu yet he is making a great point. You do not have to think this is the end of the road.
Captain Cuba we are glad your hooked on VS. I wish we had more people as dedicated as you. UDE has been poorly managing VS since its conception. They have done so many things wrong that we stopped counting 2 or 3 years ago. There comes a point were you just have to accept what happens & make the best of it. The horse is dead we can stop beating it.
CC I know you & I have gone round & round in the past & I think its great that we are all still here arguing. If anyone was to make a comic strip about all us here on realms I nominate you as Lucy! I guess that Stu would have to be Charile Brown.
Silence is never good Lebeau but I have not given up hope. I wouldn't expect an announcment until next year. Ude probably will not be making any new investments in newer games. That said if Vs is truely standing on its own feet we should reasonably expect another set.
Either way I will still be buying product & playing. CC asked how many packs we have bought since DCL? I personal bought more then anyone else in Kansas. I nearly have playsets of everything.
