Did a lot of testing today (mainly hands, but also against my brother using his Sams).
-1 Emmersblade
+1 Ragigura
With all the monster destruction around I figured I needed another recovery option (so I can recover twice if need be) and I'm fine playing with 2 Emmers.
-1 Saber Hole
+1 Gottoms' E-Call
Found 3 Saber Holes lead to dead draws quite a lot. I know I said E-Call clashed with Oppression, but I missed to too much to cut it. I am thinking of cutting the Holes but time will tell.
-1 Book of Moon
+1 One for One
Found 3 Books was too many. Added in One for One to support the 2nd Ragi
Sounds like you're already tweaking heavily after the banlist has come out....
Certainly looks like you've swapped out for the better. But maybe losing the third book and adding one for one which could only hit pushuul and ragi is a bit much....
Just thought I'd do an analysis/reasons each card is in the "new" build. Hopefully this will help players that are just starting and want to run Sabers. Starting from scratch. Blue feel free post copy this onto the TCGPlayer new Saber thread (I hope I'm allowed to mention it, please remove if I can't). And Alpha...This isn't so you can think up someway to beat me, it's for the other people. I'll be angry if you use it in that way ;)

Monsters (21)
I feel it is still necessary to have a monster heavy build and I like my decks to be at 41, personal thing. Not up for discussion.
2 Airbellum
I ran two before Cat went and will still probably be running two until the end of the format. I am thinking of dropping one for a 3rd FHK becasue it is a terrible topdeck. I am runnig two because IMO (note IMO) it is still one of the best lv3 tuners in the game. I want to be able to hit it consistantly.
2 Pashuul
While Boggart into Pashuul into Hyunlei is considered a bad play, I'd still like to have the ability to do it (given the amout of backrow that I think will be played). It can also stall for a few turns if I need to. Two so I can get it consistantly.
3 Faultroll
Do I need to explain? Win condition. I still don't feel the 3 will be a dead draw.
3 Boggart
To help get Sabers on the field. Run three before Cat went, still will. Auto three of IMO.
3 Emmersblade (well 2 + 1 Giant Rat until I get it, but welcome to other suggestions)
Definitely at least a two of, running three of for the tool boxing ability it lends to the deck. It's a lv3 non-tuner that replaces itself (usually) and helps fill the grave.
1 Gardestrike
Personal tech choice. With Cat gone, it allows another way to get two Sabers on the field. I've got a friend that runs Kaiser Glads (Kaiser Colosseum) and it's another out to it. Perfer it to Cyber Dragon because it's got a Saber name. With Dark Hole and three BRD it shouldn't be too hard to get two Sabers in the grave and none on field.
1 Ragigura
IMO a staple at one. Great for recovery and at two, I feel it gives too many dead draws.
2 Fulhelmknight
Great lv3 tuner. I feel that it's slightly broken but run in threes feels like it's too much to me. As I have said thinking of maxing this over one Airbellum (but doubt I will).
3 Darksoul
Still staple at three (IMO). I gives us our search power and the ability to make -1s (Synchros) a 0. Already been discussed everywhere else.
1 Garsem
Another one of tech choice. I don't see why people hate on it as much as they do. I this format with triple BRD and Dark Hole it should be run in one's (if not two's). It is a great deterant to mass destruction (especially if you still have your normal summon this turn and you still get the search if it gets BTHed.

Magic (10)
1 Saber Slash
Have always run it. It's a great card, not many players run it so it's a good surprise (IMO). Has won me many-a-game.
1 Giant Trunade
Shouldn't have to say anything. Clears backrows for safe plays.
1 Cold Wave
Shouldn't have to say anything. Neutralises backrows for safe plays.
1 Monster Reborn
Nothing to say.
1 Dark Hole
Combos well with Airbellum. Clears fields.
1 Mind Control
Steals monsters for synchroing.
2 Book of Moon
Breaks up plays. FHK abuse.
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
fast, chainable backrow removal.
1 Tech Spot
For either 2nd MST (which it is now), 3rd BoM or MBaaS.

Trap (10)
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
Monster removal. Prefer Karma Cut but I don't feel I can support the discard but if the meta turns out to be majority grave dependant I'll swap at least one BTH for one KC. Also might use Saber Hole here, but doubt it.
1 Starlight Road
With all the removal around I want some protection, while a bit situational it has big payoffs.
1 Royal Oppression
Stops the special summoning and I have numerous ways to stop it (Saber Slash, 2 MST, Trap Stun, Cold Wave, Trunade, etc).
1 Trap Stun
Mini Cold Wave. Allows for safer plays and turns off Oppression.
2 Gottoms' Emergency Call
Always have run two. Tried three (too many dead draws), tried one (didn't see it often enough). Two is the number for me.
1 Torrential Tribute
More removal.
1 Solemn Judgement
Negation.
1 Mirror Force
While usually a one for one, I feel safer running it. It's weird. While static I like it enough to give it a shot in a non-Heavy Storm meta.
saber thread on tcg is as mucky as ever, think i'm staying out of it for a while. Lot of the same a-holes as usual who think they are right before the first card is drawn in the new format.
I'm testing a few approaches. Starting with no airbellum (will probably end up with 1 again, still a good target for emmersblade, e-call (if I decide to run it again) and faultroll), 3 FHK, 3 pashuul, 2 reinforce truth. I want to see how heavily I can rely on pashuul and emmersblade in this format. 3 darksoul means I'll have people wondering if they want to waste a dark hole or BRD on my field of sets. Hope to have to set very few pashuul, bring most out with RT, emmers and on the back of boggart and cyber dragon.
I'm definitely running cyber dragon over gardestrike. A single garde may have its merit, its always a dead card if you open with it. cyber dragon is faster, less conditional and a good play against machines.
For once I'm finding myself with too few spell and trap slots. There's a number of them that can never be ignored (giant trunade, cold wave, monster reborn, dark hole, solemn judgment and triple book are staple now I feel). After that I could just go all out aggro, max on GEC, its certainly a unique strength sabers have as they are now in this format. Spam monsters. Downside is it may not be enough against control decks like naturia or gladiators, the two key matchups this format.
More defense is risky too, how many BTH, saber hole and d-prison will survive with most people maining two MST at the start of the format at least ? For the first time I'm at a loss about which direction to go really.
I'd go the aggro way. When I went more control I got my @$$ handed to me by Alphas Glads (preside), then I tried aggro and handed it back.
I've taken out Reinforce Truth and I haven't missed it (so far). I needed the spot. I don't see Pashuul as being as good this format with all the removal so I cut the RT. I think I'll still run Pashuul at 2 (nearly always if not always).
Haha... don't worry corran, i've yet to actually base my deck on beating you, that's what the side is for. :)
I'm more than happy with a 50-50 ratio with you and i'm rather happy you went to the effort of explaining your deck. No way i'd use it to undermine you. besides, i only generally know what you're doing when things hit the field anyway.
I'm still yet to decide on exactly which card i'll get to side against you, but it's not as if it matters, considering they'll likely have to go through you anyways. :)
I should do something like this with my deck. Certainly makes it easier to get constructive criticism from the people on here who actually know things.
Starlight Road is about the only thing that I would say change to My Body as a Shield. Road is good, but I have always like MBaaS more since it can be used against 1-1 destruction effects.
The tech spot I would make a second MST for sure. I see 2 MST as staple.
Thanks for the insight on MST (it's what I have decided on).
I don't see MBasS run in ones, it's probably just me. At 1, I don't feel it's there often enough. Whereas, Starlight seems to be there when I need it (more often than not). I don't run Saber Hole (right now, I might in future) and this just says "Hi" to BRD (basically). It also had no cost. It's really just a personal thing.
Thanks Mad. If you can't find anything to improve on, I know I'm doing something right. lol.
Just updated really. Changed tech spot to MST, going wit 1 BTH and 1 KC, and siding 2 Cydras.
Decided on Scrap Archfiend over Mist Wurm. There have not been anytimes where I'd rather go Mist over Gottoms and there have been a couple of times where I would have won if I had a beater lv7.
Basic Side decided on.
+2 Cyber Dragon
+2 Swallow Flip
+2 D.D. Crow
+1 Crevice into the DD
+3 Effect Veiler
+2 Dust Tornado/Consecrated Light (opinions please)
+1 Mind Crush
+2 Thunder King Rai-Oh
+2 Chain Disappearance

The side is kinda close to mine. Crevice might almost be good to put up to 2 for the number of grave reliance that will occur this format. Infernities will rule the graveyard and Crevice is the best way to deal with them. I also side deck a Trasmigration Prophecy to recycle extra Sabers if the need should arise. I have been in that situation a time or two and with it also being an out to grave reliant deck, it seems like a good idea this format.
Mind Crush is great as a side for Herald. I have also thought about Drastic Drop Off in the side deck since so many deck rely on searching. Just one of those though.
I would go Consecrated Light over Dust Tornado. It gives even more fire power against Infernities which will be huge this format.
Thanks. I'm going double Crow because of the set. Until I get the 2nd crow though, I'll go double Crevice.
TTP sounds like a good idea. I might give it a shot, but I find I don't have to return Sabers to the deck. There has been one instance where it would have been helpful (I had 2 Faultroll in hand and 1 FHK, everything else in deck was s/t and I had no field (monsterwise)).
Inferities will be huge? Oh yea...lol (forgot about SSP). I'll go with what you suggest there. Already have enough single s/t hate. Thanks again.
I just realised I forgot to add Chain Disappearance. Any ideas about what to take out? Right now, I'm thinking 1 Effect Veiler and what? Maybe Mind Crush?
I'm debating another change. I want to give Saber Hole another shot, so I'm taking ouy Karma Cut and a BTH for 2 Saber Holes. I also want some form of removal in there so trying @ D Prisons over Mirror Force and a MST. I'll let you guys know after some more testing (I'm liking it so far).
Updated. After heavy testing last night I decided to:
-1 Bottomless Trap Hole
-1 Karma Cut
+2 Saber Hole
I wanted to give Saber Hole another shot and this seemed the best change to me.
-1 Mirror Force
-1 Mystical Space Typhoon
+2 Dimensional Prison
I wanted some form of removal in there and Mirror Force is very easy to play around and 1 MST is enough for me. I see the Prisons being more helpful in the long run.
EDIT: Want to take out the sided Veilers, probably for anti-removal. I can see Macro making a comback without heavy around. And against all the removal sided against Sabers. I also don't feel I'll be able to play the Veilers well at all. If they go will fill the spots with IIW of to a lesser extent HR2.
