Not from what i remember he didn't. I'll have to see if i can find the issue. And even so, like i already said, for the most part Wolverine nowadays is written far more powerful than he was originally and in the 80's.
...far more powerful..as in? What...he can shoot laserbeams out of his claws?
And I distinctly remember Deathstroke punking both Colossus and Wolverine with Ease.

This is Wolverine fanboy vs. Deathstroke fanboy.
We'll never see eye to eye, so I'll just say this:

Another Wolverine fanboy here. I got your back!
Besides Enemy of the state, Wolverine has also taken down his own team in Old man Logan. Also beserker mode is what makes him better than usual.
Its all power of plot anyway, though as far as crossover stories go. If Slade really did take on the X-men with elative ease I'd call B.S. on that considering the psychics and Storm.

...Old Man Logan...Alternate Future Doesn't Count...though admittedly Old man Logan is a total BA And I will Kill Neca if they ever decided to make him into a hard to get Chase.
And I agree on the power of plot...but because LOBO is an over the top parody-type character there's no way (and I know its been beaten to death but seriously) he should have stopped Lobo.

Slade's better.
I concur, gentlemen, this is an argument that could go on for a LONG time as both sides have material to cite or valid points to make. I will say this about Logan, besides Enemy of The State, in which most of Wolverine's violent carnage is done "off screen" & therefore referenced more than anything; I feel that due to some violence limitations Wolverine can be argued to be underused, no? I know he's in plenty of "voilent" comics, but I dunno, shouldn't he just slice most characters in half that are not impervious? Adamintium is supposed to be the strongest metal, no? I could be way off as there are clearly more comic intellectual realmers on this thread ...

Oh, right. He's always gotta minus two from his result for being a Liefeldian knock off of Wolfman/Perez's Slade Wilson.

...eh it can regenerate it's just that it regenerates back to looking like a spoiled prune....
Loki interference aside.
and yeah....I think everyone (except for my pal at college who Denies that WADE WILSON was originally a parody of SLADE WILSON) knows that Wade was a pale imitation of Slade.
Oh well...its not like the X-men Were the Original. (THough I guess the Doom Patrol didn't have that many titles...)

Agreed. I feel the same way when people say that about Cap.
My problem with Cap is that I never know what power level he's being written at. "Peak human" was where he was for a very long time. Slade's *never* been merely Peak Human. Cap's high point is Slade's starting point.

Doom Patrol only beat X-Men by about three months. It's not really likely that the X-Men were a reaction. Not long ago I read the early Doom Patrol comics for the first time, and they aren't like the X-Men at all. They *are* a lot like the Fantastic Four. Think of them as the "freak" version of the FF and you get the idea. Like the whole team was like the early Thing. They weren't hunted, they were still somewhat celebrities, if shunned/disliked.
X-Men was a more original concept. Actually being underground and such.
With any new set, I personally can't wait to find out the figure list and stats. I love this stuff, the hype and everything else. I do like to be surprised when I by a brick or boosters (holy ####!, I can't believe they made this fig). I was a huge X-men fan growing up in the 80s and 90s so I was/am pumped for GSX.
Personally there are a majority of figures that do not appeal to me. I was hoping for more Brotherhood, Hellfire Club, and AoA figures. In addition to X-theme figures I assumed they would throw in some other marvel figures - my hope was some more Guardians of the Galaxy (cosmic) stuff and some Dark Avengers, etc.
Anyway, I am still psyched, glad I'm just buying a brick and will trade/buy for pieces I don't pull.
Some of the sculpts look really amazing too. I'm an addict, so even when my personal desires aren't met in a new set, I'm still happy about the progression of Heroclix, glad I can still play the game, the excitement about new figures, and the hope that the "ONE" figure you still want will be made.
