You Know What I Like? When People Capitalize Every Word For No Reason. It's Obnoxious, It's Hard To Read, And It Takes A Bunch Of Extra Effort On Your Part.
(Obviously I'm not directing that at you, but I had an argument with a buddy on Skype last night who kept doing that and he used a similar argument. If it's apparently deliberate and makes reading what you right a headache, I don't buy it so much as I do with little spelling mistakes.)
I totally get where you're coming from.
But I do this from time to time.
I hesitate to bring up e e cummings since people generally use him as a way of justifying bad grammar.
But he knew the rules well and broke them for particular effects. I do the same thing from time to time. I'm sorry if/that it bugs you.
There are some writing habits of people on various sites that I frequent that bug the HELL out of me, but I still appreciate what they have to say.
Ah! Good. I didn't want to presume, but I know that's how it works for some people, That's how it works for me, too, though I've gotten used to curbing the impulse.
Also my boss was talking today about how excited his son is to see Green Lantern, they went to Subway for lunch and one of the things that come with the toy is these cardboard cut out GL Rings and Mask...and his son wore it for the rest of the day, wouldn't take it off :s

So I see that the WordPress template for heroclix.com is starting to go up. It's mostly non-functional (in fact, checking again I see that it's gone completely wacky) but it was good to see tabs for status of redemptions, and a separate one for White Lantern redemptions.
They're working on it.
Edit: Now they're back to the cheery standby message. Still, it was good to see that they're working on it.
I'm pleased to see that word of mouth has seen X-Men: First Class' box office grow at a healthy pace -- as with Thor, the foreign take is outpacing the domestic.
How is everyone feeling about Green Lantern? Honestly. Yes, we all want to see it do well, but I do wonder if much of the effort we've seen in the past couple months has really just been cutting and re-cutting of the trailers based on fan reactions. I'm left me unsure whether it's brought us a clearer view of a film we'll enjoy or an increasingly distorted view of a film that was more clearly conveyed by one or more of the earlier trailers.
It does feel as if it's the film I've been bombarded with more ads over a longer time than the others we've seen so far this season (Thor & X-Men), and I'm not sure what to make of that.
I'm wearing a GL ring right now. I've been wearing it for over ten years now.
But something about the movie previews just aren't working for me. I can't put my finger on it. I'll guess I'll see when I see it.
No, apply it. This is totally me. You summed it up well.
There are a few people around here who are already watching me like hawks and love pointing out when I screw up some spelling.
I love it. It think it's hilarious.
Great, we are diametricly opposed on yet another subject. (Checklist so far: LotR, spelling, ???)
Let's just agree to not point each other's spelling mistakes out so one of the following doesn't happen:
1) I go ape $chiznit trying to figure out what I did to you that you feel the need to insult me all the time. (I know you don't mean it this way, but this is how I am programmed to take it.)
2) You don't go ape $chiznit driving yourself nuts over the fact that I don't care about spelling so I don't even bother to proof read a post. (For the record, when it is important, like with emails or work, I proof read and spell check. Message boards just aren't worth it.)
We both have these tendencies so let's not keep poking that animal with a stick.
I think we need to bring this back to hot dogs so we are on the same side of a topic again.
As I'll be at a comics con Friday and Saturday but not expecting to see the movie until Sunday, I'm sure I'll have been inundated with fan reviews and reactions before I see it.

Yeah, I agree that I know there are people that feel they are being helpful and have an almost OCD impulse to correct spelling.
I also acknowledge that I have an almost irrational reaction to these people as either that they are looking for brownie points, looking down on others, or purposely trying to be insulting.

Oh, you want topics to hate on me on?
Here's the list that tends to get me in trouble:
Picard not Kirk
Kyle not Hal
Tranformers: The Movie / Michael Bay does not understand what a robot IS!
Reality Television Sucks
Snowboarding not Skiing
Freedom not Safety
Frats Suck
Professional Sports are pointless
Take your pick. Fire away.
Y'know, when someone flames the hell out of me, it bugs me a bit, but my ability to remember that, and then treat them differently because of it is non-existent. Either I have a really short attention span or I'm too forgiving. I don't hold grudges well online. So I probably won't remember to treat you with kid gloves and not do this to you. I point it out when I find it entertaining. I'm an equal opportunity offender.
Dude, you realize that the hot dog thing will get me hated on more than any other subject and you're doing this on purpose, aren't you?
