Wow, I feel like an idiot. I may have just violated the no bumping rules in the Trade thread in a knee-jerk reaction to updating it after someone offered me a piece I'd just agreed to trade for.
*stupid, stupid, stupid!* >_< >_< >_<
I took a look, and I don't think you did anything egregious. It helps, too, that someone chimed in with a PM notice shortly afterward.
There's a "No Bumping" rule in the trade forum now? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
Well, self bumping. I was mostly thinking about how I posted in my own thread to say I'd updated it when it hasn't even been 24 hours since I created the dang thing.
There has been one for a long time. It prevents people who sit in front of the computer to bump their thread every hour despite lack of interest.
Yeah, it makes sense. Looking at it, though, I don't expect that a hammer will fall on Space Jawa for it. It seems to have been an honest bit of enthusiasm.
The place I'd ordered Cap, etc. from has been pushing through filling their orders. As I'd placed three different orders for various things between late February and mid-March (well, 4 if one counts September's Superman) and it's best for their system if they treat each one separately - clearing it out and checking it off - I may end up with as many as three shipping waves. The first of them - one of the Cap cases - is on the way.
Checking the tracking number they gave me this afternoon I see it's set for delivery Friday. Most likely the rest will go out tomorrow, and I likely won't see that (which will include a second case of the main set and one of the gravity feed units) until Monday. Part of me wants to see it all earlier, as you'd expect, but having it split up may keep it from feeling quite so overwhelming. Anyway, I'm mostly happy that I'll be seeing a chunk of it this side of the weekend; I'd rather have it split this way than everything arriving next week.
Was busy opening my case. Not too bad. Pulled Quasar, invisible woman, MODOK, squirrel girl, human torch and kitty pryde. The chase figure was Rojhaz. Missing Darkstar on the rares front. Overall I'm pretty happy. A decent amount of generics.
Well, I'm officially done with the Captain America set! Tonight my friend and I split a case at the sealed game, with the SRs going to be divided evenly if someone didn't get any. If there was 3 SRs, the person with 1 SR would get the LMD Brick figure. Anyway, I went 1-2 in the tourney (there were 2 Quasars pulled, it was just nasty, someone also got Ice Cap). My team was tough to play. I had no fliers, so I went with Cobra, Viper, Yelena Belova, the SHIELD generic with Support and an Adaptoid. I was mainly relying on pushing Viper and Yelena to Perplex and letting Cobra do all the work up front. Yelena would become SHIELD keyword and TA every round so the SHIELD generic could use Support. The best moment was when Yelena, on her second last click, hit a 6 with BCF/Exploit on a full health Luke Cage.
Anyway, the SR in my part of the brick was Maelstrom, and my friend got Quasar (he pulled him in the tourney) and Red Skull. I traded him my Human Torch that I got yesterday for the Baron Strucker he got in his own brick yesterday, and he also pulled Scorpio in that brick, so I traded him Squirrel Girl for Scorpio. I then traded my LMD that I got today, and 15 bucks, and got his extra Red Skull. So now I have all the SRs from this set that I needed for my collection-Baron Zemo, Red Skull, Baron Strucker, MODOK, Scorpio and Maelstrom, as well as The Captain and Quasar, and I have extras of Maelstrom and Red Skull. Except for Capwolf, which would be cool to have for Animal teams, all my must haves are complete.
I also traded the judge the Shield Throwing Cap I got in sealed (my third one) for Gravity Feed Klaw. Maybe not the best deal, but I really needed that Klaw. The guy who pulled Ice Cap in the tourney I've met before and he's a really nice guy. We chatted a lot this evening. He had a ton of extras from the Green Lantern Gravity Feed set, and I haven't bought any, so he gave me R'amey Holl and Abin Sur just because he had so many of them. I told him he didn't need to give me the extras and tried to trade him something, but he didn't want anything and told me it was cool. So I'm glad I got to see that guy again. He's on the realms here too-its proof that there are more good than bad realmsers out there!
Anyway that was my day.
The Ever Growing Trickster and Pied Piper KO List!
U Ganthet, Labcoat Beast, Cap and Bucky
Not removing this until we get Clock King and The Rose-01/23/11
Come on, NECA-Marvel Horror Theme Set 2011!

Very nice! Always great when you can basically finish up your set quickly. Now you can sit back and enjoy playing them!
Speaking of GF figures, is anyone around here looking for certain figs?
The figures I'm still looking for are Baron Strucker, M.O.D.O.K., and Scorpio for the SR's and the Ice Cap and Wolfcap for the Chases. I've got an extra Maelstrom, Red Skull, Kitty Pryde, and Quasar. I'm debating updating my Trade Thread now or if I should wait until Saturday after more boosters are bought at the tournament.
So I had a good evening as well. I wasn't able to play in our sealed event due to lack funds, but I watched our crew burn through a couple cases worth of figures. No MODOK or Zemo, but I think I saw at least one of everybody else. The guys pulled Rojhaz and Weapon X. We only had five players, but it was fun. The winning team was Crimson Dynamo, Red Guardian and Bucky Cap.
At the end of the night, after everyone but me had left, I found myself with a copy of FF #6 to purchase. I also had a $5 off punch card coupon that I had to spend at least $10 total to use. I looked longingly at the Cap boosters and wrestled with the notion of buying just one. The peg board only had two loose packs on it, so I asked Shop Keep if I could pull a booster from a fresh brick. As he was going to crack one at the end of the night to restock the peg board anyway, he didn't care, but he said I couldn't "feel up the packs." I agreed, simply stating that I'd like the one from the back right corner. He handed it to me, I paid the good man and my nimble fingers slit the tape and pulled the sleeve. Inside I found a SHIELD Agent, Phobos, Nomad, Darkstar and Invisible Woman.
And that proved to me that you don't need a whole bunch of packs to be happy. Just one good SR can make your day.
So, good news on the case/pulls front in general so far for the Ogres who've stepping in so far, it seems.
It'll be stretched out to both sides of the weekend for me - a blast Friday, a couple boosters at a Marquee Saturday, then (almost certainly) the rest, including the gravity feed pieces, Monday.
For now, though... oh. I keep tricking myself into thinking tomorrow's Friday instead of Thursday, and each time I correct myself it makes me weary all over again. Anyway, it's nearly 11:30. I need to get a few things ready, quickly, then try to settle in to sleep. 6am is merciless.

That's awesome! My friend and I (we're the oldest two that play here) always talk about how just the simple act of opening boosters makes us feel like kids again.
