"You can't do anything against Mordru in your wounded state," Mento told Blue Devil. "Help Moon Knight instead."
"Boy you really sure do know how to make a guy feel good about himself," Blue Devil chided Mento. He swung his trident at Man-Bat, but the creature ducked out of the way. "Then again, maybe it's justified." Blue Devil gurmbled.
"He is very fast," Moon Knight said. "Don't feel too bad. Not everyone can hit someone like him," he added, delivering a dead-on punch to the villain.
"Yeah, thanks," Blue Devil groaned. Moon Knight missed his sarcasm.
Ghost Widow rolls to heal Nightmare. Needs 5, rolls 11. Heal roll is 2. Argh. They really gotta do something about support.
Mordru on Swamp Thing. Of course he'll outwit his impervious. Needs 4, rolls 7. Swamp Thing takes 3.
Man-Bat on Ragman. Needs 10, rolls 10. Super. 1 to both and Man-Bat falls.
Psimon will try to m/c Moon Knight. Needs 5, rolls 8. Moony will attack Ragman. Needs 7, rolls 10. (Good rolls this game). 3 more to Rags and 1 to Moony for attacking a Mystic.
Enter Spidey in Ragman's place, the zombie version of course. Needs 5, rolls 11. Ragman's out, 1 to Spidey.
Funny thing is I was going to being in a Spider-Man myself. What do you think? Sufficiently different versions between the zombie and the real thing, or is Spidey called out.
I'm starting to think in general when we're playing a heroes villains theme like Crisis, that while we can't double up ourselves it would be okay for those characters where there are these evil alternates (Black Queen/Jean Grey, to use another example) for each of us to take an appropriate version.
I think your using Spider-Man is fine. I am mostly going for villains or possessed heroes to fit the theme ( I mean zombies, they're just about the best Halloween choices ever).
We'll need to start thinking about the special rolls for the final Avengers/JLA game pretty soon.
"Hey guys, I'm here to...oh dear God, is that me?" Spider-Man asked, aghast at the zombie version of himself. Apparently the sight of him as a whole, living being didn't sit too well with the zombie Spider-Man either. He became enraged and swung wildly at anything.
"Spider-Man, perhaps it's best if you gave your aid elsewhere," Mento thought to him. "And I know just where you'd be useful."
"Okay," Spider-Man said. "Anything to get away from...that." He leapt back and swung down the corridor and into the dining room where Ghost Widow was using her powers to heal the others.
"Sorry, creepy lady," Spider-Man said. "If we knock someone down, we want 'em to stay down." He swung into Ghost Widow.
"Meddler, you'll pay the price for that," the Ghost Widow threatened.
"I think I already have," Spider-Man said, shivering uncontrollably.
"You face the power of the Green now, wizard," Swamp Thing said, swiping at him.
I had completely forgotten what an amazing AV the IC Spidey had. WHen I knew I had to hit Ghost Widow's 18 DV, he was a natural choice.
Either Ghost Widow's Damage is off (she should have taken 3 from Spidey's attack and 1 for the push) or if you used her Protected as well as Mordru's then being pushed, she couldn't attack Spidey. Which was it?
And while I'm mentioning things, for Blue Devil's attack on Moon Knight, it'd only be for 2 damage. You may have been looking at the Vet BD. I'm only using the Exp
Spidey pushes on Ghost Widow. AV10 on DV17. Gets 5. He takes 1.
Zatanna has a go at him, AV8 on DV17. Gets 8. Almost. She pushes herself out.
At the risk of being redundant with Swamp Thing, I'll bring in Man-Thing. He doesn't get played nearly enough. With Damage Shield. He'll attack Mordru, AV10 on DV17. Gets 7. 3 to Mordru with Exploit Weakness. Man-Thing takes 1.
Mento Outwits Mordru's Super Senses.
Mento on Mordru, AV8 on DV16 +1. Gets 8. Almost.
Blue Devil on Spider-Man, Av8 o nDV17. Gets 9. Super Senses is 2. Spidey takes 2.
Moon Knight on Spidey, giving himself CCE. AV8 on DV15. Gets 10, but Super Senses is 6. 1 to Moon Knight.
