I put this tactic on my show last year. I wrote about this last year. I made a thread about this last year. Now you all are really getting onto this trick. Really? Now the pitchforks and torches?
Lets be honest here. If It was as game breaking as folks say then there would be tons of threads about it. Second of all in 300,400, and 500 it is a tough trick to pull off on several fronts. For lack of abetter words it is an all in gamble. Your vehicle can be destroyed or damaged on approach. There is no free lunch with this.
The second thing is in all honesty they didn't limit vehicles the way they should have. No giant or colossal character ever gets in a plane, car, disco, while huge. No tiny character has ever piloted a vehicle while small. There is ton of comic accurate problems in vehicles. Heck my bats can drive the Batmobile if I want.
The biggest thing is that there are some options if people are that afraid of mind control, which before Brother Voodoo wasn't there. Think about how long this tactic has been possible. Now think of how many of you who saw this just recently. You dump on GD saying they are dumb but you failed to spot the obvious some of us saw months ago.
Best thing I can say is go and actually break down how this will functionally work as a team, do a video on it and show everyone on youtube your "play testing." Hell if you want to come on my show and talk about your play testing I will make a show just for you to show your brilliance to the world.

It's more that some people really like to bag on WK, and you can make a thread about a lot of things and they'll take the opportunity to do so.

This I don't agree with just because I have never felt that the common consensus was evidence of anything. The most disgusting team in years could be out there, some people could know about it, and we might not have a ton of threads about it.

I don't dump on GD, PT though? Haha, yeah, I do. But let's be fair, a lot of people questioning PT did spot the obvious and that's WHY the criticism. Also, my critique of PT is not personal, it's not saying the Playtesters are bad at their job or anything like that, it's pointing out the failings of the System. I recognize that PT'ers might catch a lot of things but that due to circumstances still don't get fixed before release.

Any takers?
PM me
aqhoffman- greatest post possibly ever
jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.
This is clearly broken because it's winning all those tournaments we all hear about. When WizKids introduced the GCPD Police Cruiser they did not intend the back seat to be a holding pen like in real life! /sarcasm mode off

Mmm so snarky...Good for you you caught on to the concept so early! I noticed it as well. But, as you seemed to have noticed too, it wasn't broken back when vehicles first came out. Then there was Brother Voodoo. Now it matters. I'm sure you can figure out how to abuse it if you think hard considering how ahead of the curve you were on the idea in the first place.
Can we take the WK/PT bashing somewhere else? There are some legitmate issues being brought up in this thread and I'd hate to see them get drowned out by people with an axe to grind or who are just looking to make a sarcastic comment.
With all due respect the "bashing" may be necessary to get their attention. wk needs to get it together. How many times have we pleaded "please stop with new mechanics until the old problems are fixed?"
So many unanaswered questions and they want to introduce these new team bases? Resources, tiny, vehicles... seriously it is enough. I don't care what they introduce eventually but we don't even know how for sure if we can dpa with a token waiting.
Being the rules forum this may not be the most appropriate place for these grievances to be aired but it's where they come up.
With all due respect the "bashing" may be necessary to get their attention.
No, it isn't. If you think there is an issue with a mechanic (by which I mean that something either doesn't seem to be working right or is in conflict with another ruling, not "boo-hoo, this character can't do what he does in the comics"), bring it up, and I or one of the other rules deupties will look at it, and if there's not a clear answer, we'll pass it on to Sean and Wizkids.
Continuing to argue for another 8 pages serves no purpose that I can see, but it does clog up the rules forum threads and make it harder for people to find actual answers.
Want to argue about how things "should" work? Fine. I just would prefer you to do it in general discussion or the dear wizkids forum so that we can keep the actual rules threads easier to find answers in.

OK, if the question has been asked, and now all we're doing is waiting for the answer, what's wrong with some joking around? Some people are just taking some of this too seriously.
Let me find the strength to cut back on this game!

What answer are you waiting for? It's perfectly clear that nothing in the rules prevents one from mind controlling a character to become a pilot. It's possible that it will get errata later, but it's pretty clear that it does work unless something changes.
And as I said, all the back and forth (a lot of which isn't even related to the topic at hand) makes it harder for people to find the answer buried amid all the posts about how people want it to work and whether it's a competitive tactic.
