Being a retired YUGIOH player I'm interested in some figs for nostalgias sake, but that will all be secondary market for me and I WILL NEVER use them in matches. YUGIOH is a plague among us nerds as well as world of Warcraft!!! Boycott em all!!!!!
One of the venues I go to had a Yugioh tournament on Saturday. This is in Salt Lake City. They had 280 people show up for this tournament. The biggest Heroclix tournament that we've ever had there was maybe 14 or so. Granted the Yugioh tournament was a special event but the amount of players that this could potentially bring into the game is huge.
Is it really though? How many clix players got heavily into VS? I got a little, but quickly got out because I preferred clix. I don't see someone already heavily invested in one game taking some of their spending money and putting it towards another similar game.
this... really this... i guess im going to have to start to lock my stuff up...
This. I've been witness to card theft.
Crime is not funny.
But the reaction of the victim genuinely became hilarious. I had to bite my lip and walk away to so that I didn't laugh in the face of the little bugger. He was hurting, after all. I didn't want to make it worse.
I'm really, really not excited for this. The YGO tourneys occur at the same time as 'clix at our venue so I know all about the type of crowd we'll be dealing with. Just noisy and boisterous in general and often particularly malodourous (it has gotten better tho). Some of the guys seem very normal but some... very abnormal. One of our 'clix players also plays YGO tho, and he's fine so maybe its not all bad. But, man, so sad that this is happening.
However, if both tourneys are happening at he same time, they'd have to choose between the 2 and why would they ditch a game they knew for one they didn't?
How does the op not know what yugioh is... It isn't my first choice for a japanime series to be clixed, but they could have done a lot worse... Are we going to see exodus and the blue eyes ultimate dragon?
I'll see your Simpsons mob with torches and raise you a South Park mob with brooms.
RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!
I don't think is being marketed to existing Heroclix players as much as it's trying to bring in new-to-Heroclix players. YGO has a HUGE following and to get even 10% of that would be amazing.
I'm not going to get any, but I'm sure some kid wants to see his favorite YGO in 3D and then wants to see how Superman stacks up against it.
