I agree. When the cult leader was killed last time we got a message in the write up about it as well, so I don't think JRS was cult.

Different mods have different styles. Some notify the player anytime an action fail. I only inform those that wold get a PM back from me anyway when they fail. I don't recall anyone sending out PMs just to confirm an action was successful though, so it's pretty safe to assume your action succeeded unless there is something indicating otherwise.
