Well hello everyone, I'm glad I found this forum.
Been a mech fan since around MW3 came out. I was a kid at the time and I got into those K'NEX sets then was like "how do i get this game?" lol
Got MW4, MW4: Mercs, MechAssault, and MA2. (I still think Mechassault is a bit retarded even though they have some slick stuff) Also have Mechcommander 2. Used to be a heavy online player. I was a Shadow Knight in Pr0 then a Jade Falcon after I moved up to Mp3.0.2b or whatever, then I joined the Ultra Renegades Group...after they disbanded I got into NetMech IV and ISW and joined House Davion. I was known as vipetheviper through all of this so hey whats up.
Hello. I am War Wolf. I am a longtime Wizkidz fan and have been playing cmg's ever since the original release of Mage Knight even though the company crashed and all the old games beyond heroclix were cut loose.
I was first introduced to mechwarrior when I bought and played the game for super nintendo. I had wanted to test this game out for some time, but I had neither the time, nor the resources.
Although I am still strapped for resources, I decided I needed to get into this game now, seeing as how it is no longer in production. The number of actual games I have played still remains in the single digits, but I have thoroughly enjoyed each game I've played thus far. I have only won 2 out of the 7 games I've played so far. This is because of several reasons. For one, I don't want to scare away the new players I've introduced to the game to play with me. For two, I wanted to see how mechs played through as they walked their way through their dials toward and ultimate defeat. Some are definitely more impressive than others. And the final reason, it's all a learning experience. Whether I win or lose, the game is just fun to play. Eventually I will allow myself to open up that can of whup @$$, but when teaching people to play is not the time.
Funny thing, this is the way I used to teach people to play Mage Knight.
Although there are a great many parallels between Mage Knight and Mechwarrior, I found that there are a great many differences which make the whole game worthwhile. If it was just a giant space robot version of Mage Knight, I probably wouldn't enjoy it. But I do.
Hi folks. LOBO here.
I used to play MW clix competatively when I lived in Missouri, but after I moved to Texas 5 years ago I rarely played. I've decided to keep on collecting and completing sets/factions for posterity sake when I have kids so I'll have a great assortment to teach them about the best strategy game, and storyline around. Mechwarrior/Battletech.
I currently live about 30 minutes north of Fort Worth, Texas.
Would like to buy/sell/trade/ and Play some mechwarrior clix.
If anyone is interested you can reach me at [email protected]
Or my Steam handle is: CmdrLOBO
I'll check back on the msg board when I can.
Have a good one.
Howdy everyone, it's great to see some activity on this board still. I guess I'm sort of a new-old member. I joined a long time ago, but only managed to make one post in that time.
I'm a long time BattleTech player, probably nearing 20 years (yikes!) now. I always like the Dark Age setting and appreciated WK for keeping the game alive and for trying something new. And I finally played my first game of MechWarrior a couple weeks ago. Better late than never, eh? I can say I definitely had fun, and now I'm trying to build up a little army of my own.
I actually run a BattleTech meetup in NYC; if there are any MW players out there in the area, please sign up! I wouldn't mind adding some MW meetups to our schedule too.
My name's Andrew. I've played rpg and strategy games since probably 1970-something. Got into Mechwarrior clix with Dark Age and then bailed when my expensive collection was deemed obsolete with the new Age of Destruction rules.
Sold most off but kept a couple armies. Now my son is 14 and I'm amassing a collection again. Plus I got a hold of a couple big Heroscape lots for the tiles. I'll be dropping in for some questions or discussions in the future.
Hello everyone. I've been lurking for a month or two, as I am just getting into MW:AoD (and clix in general) but it seemed a natural progression for a longtime board game and Mechwarrior fan. My first big internet gaming experience was actually playing MW2: Mercs back in the day. They had a huge league going with a map and an economy system. I moved on to MW4, Mechcommander 2, and Mechassault (ehhh), but missed the old school stuff for a long time. Now that MW:O and MW:Tactics are on the verge of release, I figured to make this the year of the mech, bought the new Battletech 25th anniversary edition, and found AoD to play with friends who appreciate the less-complex mechanics.
We managed to get a case and a couple starters and we're looking forward to learning the ropes.
I've just bought a large collection of a friend who doesn't play any longer, so I'm still discovering the game.
I've originally played MechWarrior back when it was FASA's, with paper minis and grid battlefields. I also briefly played the RPG version. I'm very excited with my collection, and I hope to learn the quirks of the game in here.
My name is Bruce Payne (Jack Applestill) I live in Portland Oregon. I'm a faithful Heroclix player and have respectable feedback rating on HCrealms (Incase your curious, because I plan on posting a Want to Buy Thread). Just recently I decided to voluntarily get sucked back into Mechwarrior.
I began playing when Dark Age was released back in 2002. (Wow... That was a decade ago). Ever since I was a little kid I was always fascinated with what I didn't know then that I knew later was called the "Atlas" mech (I know... so clique) as I'm sure everyone else and their mother was. When I noticed a clix set was being released I immediately was looking to see if he was in the set. Sure enough "Derek Hasbani" of Sword Sworn's Atlas was in the set, when I found out "Jonah Levin" was an LE I about wet myself! I quit shortly after the Fire For Effect set was released, and regreted it ever since. Primarily because I never really had anyone faithful in playing as I was. Then I was just young enough to be to shy to play in tournaments. I believe I may have played in like one at Rainy Day Games.
Anyway, I just purchased a large lot of my favorite clan "Republic Of The Sphere" and scored big time, spent $100 each on the Undead Lance & Wolf Spiders action packs because nobody in this world has them for sale, and just wanted to throw my name out there officially/respectfully as another player looking for other players in Oregon to play with/against. Sure wish Mechwarrior wasn't discontinued/put on the back burner. Also... I will be posting a list of figures via "WTB thread" I'm desperately looking for that I hope some good Samaritan on this forum can help me with!
P.S. Why does this site run so slowly??? I read a forum on it, and even downloaded fire fox script manger still nothing.
I live in Orange County California. And have been playing miniatures games for years. I'm a Demo Agent for Catalyst and run traditional Battletech events. But I also love play AOD Mechwarrior games. And have recently started games on Friday nights at Amber Game Zone in Fullerton California. I enjoy playing Steel wolves or Jade Falcon mostly.
So I just came back and have been checking things out, pretty dead it seems :(
Hopefully I will be able to find a JF Action pack and Mad Cat IV somewhere :/
I have not played since 02-03 and boy have things changed. I tried out AoD starter and it sure seemed fun. I even got my wife to play. Hopefully I am not the only one around...
Howdy folks,
Since I have not been on Realms since 2006, I will reintroduce myself. Name is Mr. Tract D. Stephens. I used to live in Stockbridge, GA and now I live in Navarre, FL since I retired from the Army. I used to have one heck of a trade rating back in the day and I am just as trustworthy as before. :D
Anyway, I am wanting to participate on the threads like before and enjoy the witty banter. If anyone on here remembers me, holler out!!
