Jeez! I can't believe I completely forgot about those Masked Shamen! Yet another reason for me to grovel and beg for an Apprentice Folio...
But I agree now, a *** Masked Shaman would be a far superior choice then Scorch. And while we are at it, an Apprentice Folio with Battle Dance and Centaur's Gait would be a great addition to the force, or even Eagle's Wing or Hunter's Luck.
I think Stormwall would be very playable in 300pts, I don't see any reason why playing Heartdrinker would be a bad idea. He's a great thug, and he can heal stuff. I just wish I could still field him with Blade of Shadows. Of course, you don't really need him since the shaman can heal itself anyway.
Thats a good build VaporGecko, but I think Apprentice Folio has only 9 pages. Best spells will be Battle Dance and Centaur's Gait.
But I still disagree on the High costed relic. I'd rather field Khan Podo & a **Goblin Raider instead. Change the *Orc Marauder, to a *Goblin Raider. Infiltrate harasser. The 2 Goblin Raiders would tie up some range threats, as your army march towards battle.
I love to put Podo in, 'coz he's the mighty Podo. If you dont, then change him w/ another * & **Goblin Raider.
So if I were to play your army, I'd do it something like this.(Well, its just me.)
Originally posted by ORCRAID Ok, so again, HeatWave, OotCS, & Call Familiar on Podo, will be AWESOME!!! 1 click healing potential every end of phase.:D
I agree. Just watch out for any circumstances where Podo cannot be legally place in base contact with the caster (say your opponent's army swarms the caster, so when Podo dies, there's no space left). :)
Rib's Ghosts is the best thing the orcs got in the set...even better than khan podo! All your orcs can now breakaway on anything but a 1! I know Rava is loving the sound of that.
Additionly this card allows you to form formations with the new magespawn if you feel like sprinkling in some blackwings to help make up for the orcs lack of soarers (one of the orcs biggest weaknesses) or some grimlins for harassing. In unrestricted your clurches and gobbos can make formations with the Khans!
The cost of this wonderful card?...all you have to do is play 3 marauders...just 3...and it is free!
Order of teh Crescent Sword comes in at a close second I think. Sure it depends on your own figure's death, but if your a heavy reckless player it all works out well in the end. And while we are talking about Styrene, Aprentice Folio is great for our Orcs, plus Gateshield and Wylden Shield (both on Podo) are fun.
It's not like any faction got a massive power boost as teh focus was on Shyft and Magespawn, not factions. Perhaps the addition of Marz to the Atlantians was a tip of the scale in tehir favor, but it isn't something overtly ground breaking, he just gives them taht melee powerhouse they had been lacking for the last three sets.
Any good AC for the Orcs will help a lot (ex: OotCS, Rib G's...) Snake is still legal, so 12 Movement for your Khans 'n Swarm. Just like old school, get them to action fast.:D
Originally posted by Miggles What do you guys think of Omens....besides Podo and the raiders...our kind got kinda hosed on this set
That means more savings for the future. Next expansions.:D
I believed that WK is just balancing the figure distributions from the last 4 expansions, 1 is the base set 2.0. Hopefully we'll get a boost next.:D
I think I'm actually going to lay off of omens and start buying a couple of 2.0 and Dark riders boosters. I got Rage Hammer and Magestone Bracers and then i also picked up arc lightning and arcane sight these were 4 cards I didn't even have and I picked them all up before we started distributing the omens for the marquee. and then I got my ### kicked at the marquee for not having drawed any summons and two of the same adventuring company which I had no figures to discount it...major suck face! Either way I could use another tough ub-khan and a couple of harkas which run rampant in 2.0
Move in formation the 2 Harkas & the 3 Goblins. Enchant PR, CG & FoF to the Khan. Tie up enemies w/ the Goblins, so the the Khan can move in for the heavy damage. the Harkas can move in to finish what the Khan started. The rest of the strats are plain & simple.
Hope you like it. :D
You Orc guys might help him also, kindly give further comments & suggestions to this army.

Daruk right? I like the Thunder Drummer, even though I prefer DoomBro. From your build you have some really good pieces there, but at this moment, we Orcs should be wise sometimes. Say, just for points wise. Why not use Khan Podo instead of the Drummer? You can have the same concept w/ the defensive mode.
Why not use the **Wolfkin instead of the ***? If you will not use the Infiltrate SA of the ***Wolfkin, then you're not maximizing your points used. In this type of Orc army w/ a defend fig as the center piece(Khan Podo, Thunder Drummer, DoomBro.), the **Wolfkin is very appropriate here. And the chioce of a Goblin support/harraser must be consider also.
Try this build:
Same strats from your build, but w/ lots of muscle & points wise. Sorround Podo w/ the 3 Wolfkins & the 2 Goblins w/ Gishki. DT them all to their hot spots. Have the Shaman cast the desired spells, while your UbKhan follows the main group to add some damage. or Harrass w/ the Goblins & move in for the kill.
Well, you can still put your Thunder Drummer at one side of the field, but dont forget to tell your opponent that he's just your lucky charm.:D
I really have to agree with the use of stormwall. While substituting a couple goblins is great for ground based range, it does nothing against soring range. I'm npt sure about anyone else but I face a lot of soring range figs in amy area and that is the orcs biggest weakness. Also it's still going to be hard to stop an enemy Rava (I've had dueling Ravas many times) or Laurel or other big bounder from getting the first hit. And a 20 def isn't a sure stop to a ranged powerhouse, Tazia/ K-bow has a 14 attack, likewise with Rava/ Heartseeker etc. etc.
Stormwall stops all of this uterly, with out wasting your domains. True it's not as effective as some gobins if your oponent has no range, but then at least you get a +1 defense. But there is nothing as satisfying as seeing the dismay on your oponents face when he sees your swarm of melee figs with stormwall sitting across from his high cost ranged figs (or fig, as the case tends to be) Even Vith will have trouble facing an orc swarm when he has to land.
