Errata on that global level is pretty hard... it changes card integrity, and creates confusion. They've really avoided that thusfar, I honestly believe they should continue to avoid. I'll miss her, but like most in this thread I understand she has to go. Hopefully free characters won't be so abusive in the future.
Well we could both go back and forth with our own respective "No, you're wrong", but that would do no one good.
Care to explain how?
I'm looking at her as a one-drop for Heralds. Giving her Loyalty-Reveal ensures two things.
Out of a 6-card opening hand(Based on Loyalty Reveal):
1 card is Frankie.
1 card is a resource.
1 card is being discarded.
1 card must be cost 4 or greater AND/OR Heralds.
While yes, anyone playing a deck that utilizes her after the first turn is at a disadvantage, the Loyalty-reveal ensures that one of the other cards in your hand must be a Herald. And it can't be the Frankie itself.
I'm going on the most simplistic ideas. If you can, please, argue them.
3 slaughter swamp
2 soul world
2 un building
2 checkmate safehouse
1 31st century metropolis
4 straight to the grave
4 enemy
4 attend or die
4 negabomb
3 remnant fleet
3 sorcerer's treasure
4 cards for your win condition (pick a big guy)
this is how it works:
on turn 4: have marvel knights, secret society, kree and heralds teamed up. have 1 dagger in your discard pile. have 1 frankie in your discard pile. have 1 nenora in your hand. have 1 stranger in your hand. play attend or die.
still say this isn't broken?
sooooooooooo
attend or die is the facilitator, without which the combo is unworkable?
theres your card to ban

Reveal another Frankie. And it doesn't have to be on turn 1. After you get one out you can play the other one normally.

Precisely. At best this slows down the madness by one or two turns, meaning that the crazy-Frankie action starts on turn two or three rather than one or two.
Other ways to get around Loyalty-Reveal on Frankie: Midnight Sons. Coercion. Crisis On Infinite Earths.

I don't disagree with a banning of Attend or Die!, but Frankie needs to be gone too. I've heard about several decks that abuse Frankie that don't even bother with AoD!, instead using her for other reasons.
I really don't think errata is the way to go. For those of you who are saying discard a Heralds card, look at cards like Silver Surfer and the whole 4+ theme of HoG. I think it's pretty obvious they wanted you to be able to discard I Hunger! and I Must Obey! to Frankie. Only being able to recruit once a turn? How are you going to determine this? It just doesn't work. Employing "add-on" rules only makes our game more complicated and harder to get into.
Seriously, I think those of us who are worrying about errata should just accept the fact that there are people out there who play this game more and our better at it that are telling us that the only way to end this is the banhammer. They're giving us deck lists too.
Still, my two cents for a plausible errata:
When Frankie Raye comes into play, you may discard a card with cost four or greater. If you do, draw two cards and target opponent gets to kick you in the nuts.

Agreed. You can easily Nega-Bomb on 5 without Attend or Die, and that's still pretty damn good.
Your options for doing this in Silver are Reality Gem and War of Attrition. Reality Gem can't be reused without a stun, and the aforementioned Frankie combo decks tend to play weenies (making stunback difficult). War of Attrition hits you right back. Both require that you draw into them, which isn't easy (although certain decks can at least tutor for Reality Gem). And, most importantly, both are largely irrelevant given that Poison Ivy can tutor new teamups faster than you can disrupt them.

Precisely. It's the Necropotence era of Magic all over again.

Overexaggerating much?
Maybe I am wrong, but we are nowhere near that level of homogenization. Frankie can be used in a myriad of archetypes, and we have confirmation in this thread that there are ways to beat the archetypes people are afraid of.
Skullclamp more like it. Necropotence? No way, in my opinion.
The only real coinflip PC was New York. And that was just with Sentinels minus overload. I really don't want to see what a coin-flip is with 30 minute build phases for each player doing the most damage in the 50+.
