I think you are probably right, but it all depends on demand. If PvE takes off and Gax provides unique gameplay, then it will have value.

I know I want to get all of the mercenaries if they have unique abilities. I'm not crazy enough to spend much at all on them, but I'm sure there are tons of people who will want them to varying extents.

Most of those people should be able to get their Gax from next years GENCON time period. Unless the pack drop is crazy low, this should limit its value.

Yea, we don't even know the drop rate of they yet. If they are low then they could fetch a good price. The only problem would be that as time go on getting the one you want would be harder.

There's also an entire year until we can possibly get them in-game. I'm sure tons of people won't want to wait that long or won't even know about it.

MC, that's true only as long as the desire for the item wanes. Since it is not tradeable that might limit the desire for future generations of HEXers to even want it. It is kind of a toss-up.

Personally, it's all or nothing from collector's mentality. So if there is one piece that I cannot acquire/collect, then its not a complete collection i.e. no point for me to pursue the rest. With this mindset, although I want to have the MC's, as soon as I get the stage where I miss one, I probably give up. Since there are so many marcenaries already there, I am sure we have enough to play with once PvE is officially out.

Plus anyone who had not pledged King Tier or higher are already missed out complete mercenary sets anyways.

Very true. This should limit the value of the Gax/Portensio at least until/if Mercs become tradeable.

UPDATE: No more sales since the last update on eBay. Lowest BIN is ~$45 and there are no real auctions running at this point. It looks like the early sellers and buyers have met and everyone else is in wait and see mode.

Probably waiting for the alpha to see the true potential of Hex before cashing in.

No doubt. Not sure if that makes the most sense, but it takes two to make a market. My gut feeling on this one is that those who sold early will make the most money.

UPDATE: Not a single sale HEX related that I can find since 10SEPT. Prices still holding firm around $45. Things should pick up as alpha gains some steam, hopefully by the end of the week.

Those who sold for this type of game will always make more money.

The digital game system. Those who goes first cash in first and the price slowly drops from there. The set price is the initial price of which the highest value was brought. Since you can always get it later, no matter the drop rate, the first initial rush is always higher. Physical stuff is where the money is at.
