One thing is pretty clear here though, WK will probably be dammed before they ever make another exclusive figure figure like this for the fans.
Talk about biting them in the ###.
Not a chance. In fact, just the opposite is true. Galactus brought potentially an additional 10,000 people to WWLA. 10,000! (whatever the # was, it was pretty big).
Other conventions this year will most likely see similar bumps in attendence.
The decision makers at Wizkids and WW will definitely make sure to produce something to try and repeat that performance and more importantly, the revenues that were generated by the additional attendees. They're not going to let a little short term pain for Dorcus and Brother Magneto and a few others dictate their business practices.
They aren't going to kick themselves and their customers by not making another exclusive figure. They're just going to learn from this experience and bring that figure to market better.
I was at Wizard World LA on Sunday only. I had a small chance to get the Galactus, but I was unwilling to get in line at 4AM to get it. While I accept WizKids apology, I would like to know exact numbers they plan on bringing to San Diego before I make that trip. Is this too much to ask?

Personally, I think it is. The number of Galacti they provide should not be THE determining factor on whether or not you go to a convention. Slightly modifying what urlmaker said, "If going to WWLA only for a Galactus figure... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?!? Sheesh." There is SO much more to do there than stand in friggin line all day for a Big G figure. There are OTHER lines to stand in all day! Get some autographs, get swag from the other booths, meet some of your fellow gamers, play a few games, get drunk (if old enough), eat expensive and lousy food, drink warm sodas, and above all, have a BLAST!
Apologizing for Galactus... sheesh... you people should be apologizing to them. Wasn't it company line that Galactus would never be made? Same with Silver Surfer? Now we have them both, and even 2 versions of SS. The people that are complaining should be ashamed of themselves, but I know they won't be.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
Originally posted by Funky Jett I will say this again... YOU were just as ill prepared as WizKids was. You thought you could just waltz in and get the figure. Well, I'm sorry you weren't able to do that. The only one to blame for that is you. You made a wrong assumption.
Tell me you're joking Funky. I dont think any reasonable person thought they could just "waltz in" and get a Galactus. I do think getting up at 6am (4 hours early) to wait in line on Saturday would have given you a reasonable chance at getting Galactus. Well, normally it would have if it werent for the dealers and cutters who got in line early. I hold Wizkids accountable for not being able to secure this.
Yes we made a decision based on information given to us by Wizkids. So when that information is wrong who should we hold accountable? Ourselves? Look, Wizkids may have made a mistake in planning based on the information given to them by Wizard World. They should hold Wizard World accountable for that, no question.
Those of you who were not there dont quite understand the frustration. Yes, Galactus limited (much more than we all thought). The fact that WK made things worse with the poor handling of the situation is what I'm most upset about. Everything was a mess. On Friday when they started letting people in at 5 pm there was a MAD rush to the booth. The line was easily hunderds of people long in a matter of minutes. I heard people started lining up for preview night at 11am. Granted, not all were there for Galactus. A grand total of 50 Galactus were sold on Friday night (at least 15 to dealers, probably more). So WK knew that hundreds of people who wanted Galactus would have to wait till Saturday. They should have planned for lots more than that. Saturday rolls around and its even crazier than Friday. There were over 100 people already in line at the WK booth just as they opened the doors to the public on Saturday. How da heck did that happen? Again, I hold Wizkids accountable for that. This is where they failed to do their best in making sure everything was "fair." It most certainly was not. Again, hopefully they've learned from this and we will not see these problems again. Based on Wizkid's past actions, I'm not holding my breath.
You might find it odd, but the ONLY reason I went to the convention was for the LE figures. By Sunday, only Invisible Girl was available. The 2nd Silver Surfer you mention was also sold out long before I got there. Fortunately, I live in SoCal, so it wasn't such a burden for me to go. However, I still feel that I'm out $40 (I brought my wife). I almost didn't go on Sunday since I at least knew in advance that it was nigh impossible to get one. But, me and my wifey went anyways. We got there at 10 went straight to the WizKids booth to see the madness for ourselves. We walked around the convention (which was nothing more than a glorified Frank & Sons - people in SoCal know what I'm talking about - and Frank & Sons is free). I have seen a post regarding full disclosure on a limited edition figure posted here: http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showth...l&pagenumber=2
If Mattel can put the numbers and all of the information surrounding their convention exclusives out there before the con, then WizKids can too.
That's all I ask...

Seriously i feel bad that most of you didn't even have a chance to get your galactus heroclix, but you know what, if this is your biggest problem in your life you need to get a better life. This is becoming rediculous, grow up and live with it. I have had many opportunities to try and buy similar things like this and have missed my chance, you know what I did, I said "Oh well, I'll just have to live without it". I've had plenty of problems not even related to buying this that I have had to live with, between deaths, cancer, family problems and alike there are a lot of things that aren't fair in the world and you just have to live with it. #### happens and they stated they were sorry and would do their best to make sure it doesn't happen again. I'll live without Galactus if I have to and I'm not going to cry bloody murder if I don't get one.

To the best of my knowledge, few, if any, have claimed that this is the biggest problem in our lives. We're discussing it here, on a website dedicated to Heroclix, b/c it is a Heroclix issue.
Captain America: C'mere, let me get a closer look at that big gash on your cheek.
Bruce Banner: But I haven't got a gash on my cheek.

'May have, but don't! Who cares about you? We have enough patriotic Americans complaining as it is! Take your Judge Mortis and Stix and like it, Euro(expletive)!'
I know something I'd like to Stix right now...

I'm glad you don't have anything better to do with your life than to point your finger at the people airing their complaints and say, "Wow, at least you don't have cancer."

On the contrary, if most people here had 'I have no Galactus' as the biggest problem in their life, I'd wager they'd have a way better life than right now. I sure as sugar would.

I think you're missing the boat on this one funky. Galactus was a convention exclusive. Hence the whole point of Galactus was to draw people to a convention that they might not have otherwise attended. So yes, the number of Galacti could very well be THE determing factor on whether or not people go to a convention.
Just keep in mind that they call it a convention exclusive for a reason.
Why can't you people just let it go. ThePope, I never said I had cancer, just that it has been something that has affected my life and that sometimes there are things you just need to live with. The way most of you talk about this it does sound like it is the only important thing in your life. The problem is that people are just complaining, what is that going to do, nothing but fill up the forumns with unneeded and unimportant posts, whatever happened to talking about heroclixs and teams, comics, superheroes. Lately all I've heard is that since I didn't get a Galactus clix I'm going to complain even though it will not make a difference.

Should we only post on topics you deem important and needed?

If something was a mail-away exclusive from a magazine. And that magazine was one that you never purchased (PSM comes to mind). And you bought the magazine just to get the exclusive. Wouldn't you expect that you had a good chance of getting the mail-away figure, even if there was small print that said LIMITED QUANTITIES, YADA YADA.
I certainly would expect to get the figure, and have everytime in the past.

maybe you should post about something other then the fact you didn't get a galactus and that this is the biggest tragety in the world, there has got to be better thing to talk about. WWLA is over and there's nothing that can be done about it except fixing the things that went wrong and we aren't in any position to tell Wizkids what to do, they will do what they think will be the best for them but will also try to make things better for their consumers also.
