So, how do folk feel about the recent announcement re: the TRU colossals and GL gravity feed figs going non-exclusive at some point down the line?
I ask because this is a pretty well-reasoned group and I'm looking for some candid responses on the matter (as opposed to what one may find in GD).
I have no problem with a staggered release.
Step 1, make it exclusive (at a con, toy store, foreign country, etc.)
Step 2, six months later, make it available everywhere to everyone.
This way the psychos can froth in their frenzy, HeroClix/WizKids gets some attention in specific areas, and those who have a semblance of balance in their life can wait the 6 months to get the figures (if they even want them).

Not being too up on my general discussion, I have to ask: are people complaining about this too? I thought exclusives were going to be the end of Heroclix, and now making them non-exclusive is a bad idea?
I don't much care, and that goes for the whole situation. I'm not terribly interested in the gravity feed figures or the new colossals. I'll probably pick some up, but I won't go way out of my way for it. Selling them at my usual gamin' store increases my chances of buying, but not by a ton.

I haven't seen the announcement but I think it is a good thing as it seems they are targeting the wrong market with these. If they were starters with dumbed down rules, like alpha clixs it would feel more right.
I actually asked a mod if we could give Wade fake warning points for calling himself one of the horsemen and then get the points removed later, but apparently only Typhon can remove warnings, so we scrapped the idea.

I was prepared to type up my response, and then I saw that Wintremute already said pretty much exactly what I think, so here's his post again:

I wish they would do things like this for SDCC...everything seems to be about wizard world philly around these parts :-/
At SDCC we should all drink a bunch of margaritas and hold the "Slightly Tipsy HeroClix Championship."
OR, buy a few bottles of tequila and take a shot each time you give one of your figures an action token... call it the "How The Heck Did I End Up in Tijuana And How Did I Get This 'I Survived The Donkey Show' T-Shirt?" championship!
Got my grubby paws on some GL Gravity Feed boosters this evening. Traded one of the players at my venue a decent number of older LEs and Us. Only missing these:
001 Green Lantern
002 Hal Jordan
003 Kilowog
006 Ganthet
I really, really, really wish there was a real-life situation where I could tell a large group of people, "YOU ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO SPEAK THE WORDS TO LIONEL RICHIE'S SONG, HELLO, AS YOU ARE INTIMIDATING PEOPLE."
