DarqFeonix, you are Nale, Don of the Linear Guild (Mafia)! You have concocted an elaborate scheme to get your brother here so you can eliminate him once and for all. Of course, considering the embarrassment of last time… you really want to make him and his pesky friends pay.
As the Don of the mafia, you must make a night kill yourself, or assign it to one of your loyal minions. If you don’t make a nightkill, you can instead mind control a target and force them to target another player of your choosing. Be careful, some of these guys have actual class levels, so it might not work. Also, as the Don, you require a 2/3rds majority to be lynched.
You can communicate with the rest of your mafia, too, which consists of Wade Wilson (Sabine), MSU (Thog), Morpheousdr3am3r (Leeky Windstaff), Rokk_Krinn (Yokyok), and Magnito (Pompey).
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
Mind control only has a 50% chance of success when targeting the Black Dragon or any members of the Order of the Stick. He rolled pretty well throughout the game, and the mind control was very useful when they lucked into sending the vigilante (Roy) into V when he was PGO'ing nightkills.
* * * * * *
Wade Wilson, you are Sabine, Demon Seductress of the Linear Guild (Mafia)! You’ve been grooming Nale to be a primo evildoer… and his death last time was darn inconvenient. Fortunately, he got raised, you got summoned back to the Prime Material Plane, and now it’s payback time.
If you aren’t assigned the nightkill, you can randomly misdirect a target character of your choosing.
You can communicate with the rest of your mafia, which consists of DarqFeonix (Nale), MSU (Thog), Morpheousdr3am3r (Leeky Windstaff), Rokk_Krinn (Yokyok), and Magnito (Pompey).
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
Killed by the SK Night 1! ARG!
* * * * * *
MSU, you are Thog, Enforcer of the Linear Guild (Mafia)! Thog scare cleric to get Nale raised. Nale have plan to ruin Not-Nale! Thog use rocket skates! Thog like rocket skates and ice cream and puppies. Nale still not let Thog have puppy though. Thog sad. L
If Thog not assigned nightkill, Thog roleblock target player.
Thog make talkies with other mafia, like Nale (DarqFeonix), Sabine (Wade Wilson), Leeky Windstaff (Morpheousdr3am3r), Yokyok (Rokk_Krinn), and Pompey (Magnito).
Thog win when all threats dead and Thog get puppy. Yay!
And of course, Thog gets scryed Night 1 by V. And V found the ice cream, so... (sorry, the scrying was supposed to be fairly accurate).
* * * * * *
Morpheousdr3am3r, you are Leeky Windstaff, evil gnome druid (Mafia)! You really don’t care about the Linear Guild too much, but these people will pay for their corrupt cities and decadent ways of life outside the wilderness! Oh yes, they will pay!!!
You are exceptionally hard to kill, because you are a cheesemonkey of a druid, so you can avoid one kill attempt (nightkill, daykill, or lynch). Additionally, when you are assigned the nightkill, you cannot be roleblocked as you have far too many minions to carry out the task.
You can communicate with the other members of your mafia, which consists of DarqFeonix (Nale), Wade Wilson (Sabine), MSU (Thog), Rokk_Krinn (Yokyok), and Magnito (Pompey).
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
Maybe I should have given him an extra power. But I figured for a game this size, six people in the mafia was pretty big! Of course, I didn't plan on them losing half their numbers by Night 2.
* * * * * *
Rokk_Krinn, you are Yokyok, son of Yikyik and noble kobold swashbuckler (Mafia)! You normally would never associate with villains such as the Linear Guild, but they have promised to bring you your father’s killer. As such, you have your own personal quest to hold too, and you aren’t terribly concerned about the Order of the Stick… save for the Halfling. Oh yes, he will pay.
If you are not assigned the nightkill, you can follow a target and find out whoever they target (tracker). Additionally, if you do find out who Belkar is, you can post in bold in the thread, “<player name>, My name is Yokyok, you killed my father, PREPARE TO DIE!” If you are correct, you will chase the vile Halfling out of the game, pursuing him as you complete your alternate win condition. (Needless to say, you might not want to mention this in full to your mafia teammates… but I leave that for you.)
You can communicate with the other members of your mafia, which consists of DarqFeonix (Nale), Wade Wilson (Sabine), MSU (Thog), Morpheousdr3am3r (Leeky Windstaff), and Magnito (Pompey).
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
Considering that there was an entire set of comic strips devoted to Belkar being hounded by Yokyok, I figured that the Belkar player would know the setting and realize "Hey, I might not want to advertise!"
Um, yeah, that didn't work according to plan...
* * * * * * Magnito, you are Pompey, bitter half-elf wizard (Mafia)! You fell in pretty easily with the Linear Guild because… well, you’re a teen and Sabine is hot. What more needs to be said? The fact that they are tormenting Julia Greenhilt is just a bonus.
If you are assigned the nightkill, you can summon creatures to devour the remains, so no one can figure out who died (janitor). Additionally, if you are not assigned the nightkill, you can still act as a janitor if you target the same player as the mafia killer that evening.
You can communicate with the other members of your mafia, which consists of DarqFeonix (Nale), Wade Wilson (Sabine), MSU (Thog), Morpheousdr3am3r (Leeky Windstaff), and Rokk_Krinn (Yokyok).
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
I should have given Pompey something else, as well, but he just seemed to be a novice wizard, and summoning bugs to eat his opponents seemed like enough power with a six-person mafia.

The Darkstone (replaced by PaxZRake), you are the Shadowdancer (Neutral). You were originally an assassin, trying to kill the King of Nowhere, but he never showed up. So now you’re in Cliffport trying to find another job. Fortunately, you have some skill yanking people into the shadows, but now you’re afraid with all the murders recently, someone will think you’re doing it! That wouldn’t be good at all.
At night, you may grab a fellow player and yank them through the shadows, effectively jailkeeping them for the evening. They cannot be targeted by other players, and are effectively roleblocked.
You win if you survive to the end of the game.
Fun fact: Night 7 Pax targeted NotYou. And Darq tried to mind control him to target NotYou. And then Groovy used his roleblock power on Darq.
* * * * * * Dbauers, you are the Dwarven Demolition Expert (Neutral). You were an assassin trying to kill the King of Nowhere, but he never showed up so you went back to Cliffport. But now there’s these other murders taking place, and you’re a bit concerned you might be framed for them.
At night, you may target a player and plant a bomb on them. After a random number of posts, the bomb will detonate, taking them out unless they have a specific way of avoiding kills. Additionally, if anyone nightkills you, they will probably be taken out by a bomb themselves.
You win if you survive to the end of the game.
Unfortunately, the Dwarven Demolitions Expert has a weakness for the fairer sex, so any bomb he plants on a female character (not player, sorry Truffles!) automatically fails. Additionally, a female character (or ambiguous, like V) can target him for a kill and not be bombed.
He actually didn't do much the entire game. He only bombed Truffle Shuffle of his own free will.
* * * * * *
Shadow40, you are the Oracle (Neutral)! A kobold with the gift of prophecy, you are just trying to make a buck and keep people from bothering you too much. Of course, the Linear Guild is bad for business, so you’d prefer that they don’t exactly come out with a win. And you’ve seen the Order of the Stick coming back for more business, and repeat customers are so rare in your line of work!
Every night, you can ask a question of the moderator. The question might or might not be answered, with a level of crypticness in direct proportion to the complexity of the question. Additionally, you can give the moderator an anonymous message to relay to a character once during the day phase.
Lastly, you cannot reveal your identity in the game thread. If you do, you will be mod-killed at the end of the day phase, as everyone in the area is going to swamp your lair with requests about the future. You can hint at your true nature, but out and out stating "I am the Oracle" will cause you to leave the game.
You win if all threats to you are eliminated.
Man, I was so mad that the Oracle died Night 1. But on the bright side, he WILL show up in First Night Death 2. I guarantee it. MUAH HAH HAH. In retrospect, I shouldn't have had three survivor type roles, but last game the neutrals died very fast, so I didn't think it would matter that much.
* * * * * *
Mbauers, you are the Young Adult Black Dragon from the forest (Neutral)! For some odd snafu, you were out making time with that nice green dragon girl when the adventurers showed up to steal your starmetal! But now you’re lurking around Cliffport, trying to find the thieves and devouring some soft-skinned humanoids just for fun.
You are the Serial Killer! Each night, you must PM a target to the moderator. That target will be dissolved by your acid breath or devoured, hiding the identity of your victim. Additionally, you cannot be nightkilled unless you are also roleblocked.
You win when you are the only player left in the game.
And my mistake was on Night 1. Magnito targeted mbauers for the kill, and mbauers targeted Wade Wilson. However, no one roleblocked mbauers, so he shouldn't have died. I didn't realize that until the writeup was done, and it was pretty obvious that he wasn't exactly a good guy from the writeup, janitored or not. (Which I don't feel bad about... I can't imagine the mafia wanting to RC as the Serial Killer.) And yes, I have apologized profusely to mbauers, so hush.

NotYou, I couldn't tell if you were overconfident and deztrcutive town or clever mafia. Even if you believe in pressure as a means ti an end, you went after me despite giving up all the details and having a very solid claim (a *slight* chance of janitored role, but very slight). You crowded out/distracted from any number of other potential conversations and made it easy for the mafia to obfuscate or hide.
How many times did I point out Mags' silence?
Completely disagree.
Magnito was perfectly right to hide behind the possibility of being Durkon,
because silence doesn't equal mafia exclusively.
Your claim wasn't solid.
There was a strong chance it could have been a janitored role, and I
felt it was undermined by your continuous use of RL excuses or Not been
paying attention...I'll start paying attention from now on.
By the end of the game...what was achieved by town powers?
Nothing.
Even the one successful Copping didn't target mafia.
It targetted me, and it was only because I'd been trying to catch MSU
that it hit the right spot.
Town powers did nothing, and all we had was trying to talk things out.
People without a safety net simply don't want to do that.
You yourself say you don't bother until you've made it several days in.
So what was getting crowded out?
I have to say constantly having to push people was really tiresome for
me, but that's what needs doing when powers aren't delivering.
As I said before, lynching you and get_1 told me exactly who we should
kill, but I didn't regain enough trust to make anyone else listen.
Sorry, for what it's worth, but I'd do it again.
Your effectively saying you couldn't be bothered to keep up because you
were in too much and other stuff was more important was kind of annoying.
RCricket55, you are Roy Greenhilt, leader of the Order of the Stick (Town/OOTS). Beleaguered and bemused leader of the Order of the Stick, you’re still getting used to your father no longer materializing to boss you around when Azure City shanghaied you into investigating the gates. However, Julia’s kidnapping put a temporary hold on that plan, as you had to lead the group to Cliffport to rescue her from the Linear Guild.
You are the vigilante! Each night, you may PM a target to the moderator. That target will be nightkilled. Additionally, once during the game, you can state in the thread, “<player name>, LET MY SISTER GO!” and that player will be daykilled.
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
Did not have the best game... killed the Oracle Night 1, and then was mind controlled into a PGOing Groovy Night 2. His role had changed a bit, to reflect the fact he was a bit more gung-ho in rescuing his sister.
* * * * * *
Melkhor, you are Haley Starshine, second-in-command of the Order of the Stick (Town/OOTS). Fortunately for you, I’m not the kind of moderator that would make you talk in cryptograms. If you want to, though, I won’t stop you from doing that. Needless to say, you know that this is a trap that the Linear Guild set for you in Cliffport, but you’re still trying to work out the particulars.
You are the reverse tracker. Each night, you may PM me a target, and you will find out everyone that targeted that person. Additionally, you are very skilled with evading attacks, and there’s a decent chance that any nightkill attempts on you will simply fail.
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
Melkhor played a pretty good game, really. And the last night did technically have him getting killed (rolled a 76 for evasion). But I had something in mind for the final writeup, so I went with that. And yes, Haley's evasion chances were still insanely high at 75%.
* * * * * *
Kedryn, you are Durkon Thundershield, dwarven cleric of the Order of the Stick (Town/OOTS). You have a love of beer, a fear of trees, and a deep loyalty to Roy and the Order of the Stick. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of trees in the city park here in Cliffport, and amazingly humans don’t know what a danger those things can be!!!
Cure Moderate Wounds! – For your night action, you can PM a player’s name to the mod. That player is protected from nightkills for the evening (doctor).
Raise Dead – Once per game, you can bring a character back from the dead. This replaces your normal night action.
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
I should have changed him up to give him a one-shot nightkill. Admittedly, I didn't want to use the Azure City versions of the characters I thought of, but I should have done some changes... it made the characters somewhat predictable. Also, I don't know WHY he didn't raise the vigilante! Bring Roy back dude!!!
* * * * * *
Loganspeedo, you are Elan the Bard, human bard and devotee of Banjo (Town/OOTS)! You were brought back by Banjo at the end of last game, and you knew he was a real God, you just knew it! Even if you sometimes drive Durkon crazy when you try and talk theology with him.
As your night action, you can force a player to target another player (mind control). Once per game, you can instead doctor a chosen target so you can protect them from nightkills.
You win when all threats to your faction are eliminated.
He played it pretty well, but the mafia clued in and got him fast.
Fun Fact #1: Once Elan was janitor-killed, Nale gained a town-cloak. Fun Fact #2: Both Elan and Haley were put into the swear filters on the mafia proboards. Anyone typing Elan would see "Nale's idiot brother" instead. Any... well, derogatory term referring to a woman or certain anatomical parts of said woman would translate as "Haley." Sabine made me do it.
* * * * * *
GroovyBoy, you are Vaarsuvius, elven wizard (Town/OOTS)! You are still a long-winded keeper of a thousand arcane secrets, each one would drive a normal mortal mad. MAD! After the events of the last adventure, you are feeling far more loyalty than you normally would to the Order of the Stick, and so you have come to help Roy out against the predictable dramatic tropes of Elan’s evil twin.
Spellbook – You can do a variety of effects, thanks to the masterful versatility of your spellbook that contains the very mind-shattering secrets of ultimate arcane power… but you have to use all four powers once before you can reuse any of them (inventor).
-Cone of Cold – roleblock a target
-Explosive Runes – Post bomb (after 100 posts that day, the target is killed)
-Evan’s Spiked Tentacles of Forced Intrusion – anyone attempting to nightkill you is instead killed themselves
-Scrying – You can determine one item that your target has, giving you a clue as to their true identity
The forces of the very cosmos are mine to command… - Once per game, you can unleash the full power of your tendency to commit long-winded monologues, blocking everyone else’s night actions. If you do so, this replaces your normal spellbook action.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
Another character I should have given extra powers or different powers too. In the end, it made him somewhat predictable to the mafia.
* * * * * *
PaxZRake, you are Belkar Bitterleaf, world’s worst tracker (Town/OOTS)! And boy, are you cheesed off now! Not only are you being forced to behave by these losers, but now that darn Lord Shojo put a mark of justice on your head, so you can’t commit any killing inside city limits! However, you do have a few other tricks…
You are a roleblocker! Each night, you can choose a target to block from completing their action out of sheer frustration. Additionally, you’ve discovered that you can evade attacks somewhat, though not nearly as good as Haley.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
Belkar has a 25% chance of avoiding a nightkill thanks to his rangerly evasion. But I thought changing Belkar to a roleblocker and turning Roy into the vig would throw people off.

Dbauers, you are the Dwarven Demolition Expert (Neutral). He actually didn't do much the entire game. He was mind controlled by Nale into bombing Hatut Zeraze. He only bombed Truffle Shuffle of his own free will.
Actually, unless I was misdirected that night, I MC'd Groovy to bomb Hatut.
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"
Wow, great game Mal, and congrats to my teammates, Pax, Dbauers, and Rokk. I'm pretty sure this was my best played game yet. I really thought I had made a major mistake when I first opened up the end game gambit when I poured out all of the targets, the only names not mentioned being Darq and Mags. I didn't mind not having another power, and I honestly don't even know what would have made sense with the character. I don;t think we could have pulled the win off with out NotYou getting us good lynches day after day.

Props to Morph for posing as Nale at the perfect time. He came forward perfectly, even though I could tell he was worried about outing himself as Mafia. Thanks, dude!
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"
There was exactly one person who I might have been as janitored.
And a misdirector is very useful endgame and relatively useless early game.
You hounded me the better part of three days on *zero* evidence, ending with my lynch.
I'm sorry, that's bad play.
You say that lynching two townies told you exactly who was mafia! No Kidding! Lynch the townies and the mafia are the ones who are left!
I can see lynching a townie who doesn't play along to pressure, but I told the truth 100% of the time.
Bad play.
As I pointed out...the town never got ANY evidence.
Your excuses were off, and there was no better target.
We could have afforded 2 bad lynches, but the 3rd (Sky) put us on the
brink, and allowing the mafia to control the next one sent us teetering
to a point where we were dependant on neutrals.
The alternative would have been to just stall out in the hope that we still
had a living cop who might get lucky.
THAT would be bad play.
Hatut Zeraze, you are the Cliffport Police Chief (Town). You just started working on this case, as the brutal murders taking place throughout town are just ruining your nights. But even worse than the murders, are the odds that some pesky Player Characters are going to be running amok through your city to try and deal with the problem on their own…
You are the cop. Each night, you can PM a target to me and find out their alignment.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
Very good at finding townies. Then Groovy with explosive runes was mind controlled into him. Ouch.
* * * * * *
Truffle Shuffle, you are the Rookie Cliffport Cop (Town). You’re new to the beat, but you’re a promising cop who’s been working closely with the Chief to try and solve these murders. While you aren’t a full-fledged detective, you’re learning very fast from him.
You are a tracker. Each night, you can PM a target to me and find out who they targeted. Additionally, if the Cliffport Police Chief is killed, you lose your tracking powers and become the cop in his place.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
I admit, I was surprised when she was brought back instead of other characters... but she did a pretty good job throughout the game. And she did get promoted to cop. Ironically, she copped Magnito when Morph made the nightkill.
* * * * * *
NotYou, you are Captain Julio Scoundrel (Town), world-famous sky pirate, renowned ladies man, and all-around dashing action hero! Even though you’re older now, you still have a bit of the old magic. And one of the best airships in the world, the Mechane!
You are a busdriver. Each night, you can PM two targets to me, and anyone targeting player A will target player B instead, and vice versa. Additionally, if you find an appropriate character to mentor, you might teach them a few tricks…
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
If NotYou targets Elan, then they are masoned together, and Elan will also get a one-shot nightkill to reflect his Dashing Swordsman status. Sadly, that didn't happen... and while the night targeting was pretty decent by NotYou, the day behavior boggled my mind! Especially with helping get a trio of townies lynched.
* * * * * *
get_1, you are Celia the Sylph (Town)! Well, your parents are paying for law school, so getting a raise outsider spell wasn’t too hard to manage for them. In any case, now you’re taking Spring Break in Cliffport, and are hoping that you might bump into Roy here so you can continue from where you left off with New Year’s. And considering the pests that the Linear Guild were, if you find them here, you’d be happy to help take them down.
Due to your legal expertise, you are a double voter! Additionally, you can also alter the votes needed for someone to be lynched. At night, you can PM a target to the mod, and they will either need 1/3 majority or 2/3 majority to be lynched, depending on what you choose.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
If get_1 targets Roy, then they are masoned together.Didn't happen, obviously. Though apparently get_1 hasn't read this part of Order of the Stick because he was all "Roy and Celia do WHAT?!?"
Sadly, I think get_1 was a touch too belligerent for this... which fed into NotYou's paranoia. And then Darq was able to sneak in the hammer. Which no one called him on, IIRC. She would have REALLY had the ability to mess with the mafia. (Oh, and in case you're wondering, if get_1 had zapped Darq with the 1/3 majority to lynch power... it would have just balanced out to a normal majority.)
* * * * * *
SkyKushryd, you are Larry Gardener, child wizard prodigy (Town)! You weren’t killed by the Linear Guild, but it was a close call. Fortunately, you’re a super special wizard so you were able to survive. Now, you left Warthog’s School to find out what their nefarious plan is and to stop it before it gets out of hand.
You get a random night action that you can use each night. The nature of the power will be made clear to you at the end of the day phase. Additionally, you are masoned with Warthog, the Master of the Warthog’s School of Wizardry and Sorcery (Grinner), and can communicate freely with him throughout the game.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
Considering that I included Fruit Pie the Sorcerer in the first game, how could people not believe Larry Gardener would be here??? His powers were:
Night 1 - Making himself or Warthog a paranoid silencer (RB/Silence anyone targeting them... no one targeted Warthog that night) Night 2 - Reverse Busdriver (forced get_1 and Morph to target each other) Night 3 - Double Action (targeted Grinner, was misdirected to NotYou) Night 4 - Critique Curse (Roleblock target, then Silences them the next day, and has a 50% chance of killing them the following night, targeted dbauers but was jailkept) Since Larry Gardener is a special snowflake, he was told when his actions failed. Whoops!
* * * * * *
Ignatz_Mouse, you are Julia Greenhilt (Town)! You were taken captive by the Linear Guild, but escaping that idiot Pompey was hardly any trouble. Now, you just have to figure out where your loser brother is, so he and his buddies can take care of this business.
You are a misdirector, and each night you can target a player and randomize their target (or targets). Additionally, since you’re true neutral (you go both ways), you cop as neutral instead of town.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
Poor Julia. Hopefully she gets out of juvie.
* * * * * *
Grinner, you are Warthog, Master of Warthog’s School of Wizardry and Sorcery (Town)! Once those Linear Guild fellows left your school, you just knew they were up to no good. So you managed to get little Larry brought back and now you’re both in town trying to figure out what they’re up to. Of course, Larry thinks it’s all HIS idea, the precocious little brat, but you have to humor him as he thinks HE is the center of the story. Sheesh, obviously he never read the strip’s title…
You are a jailkeeper! Each night, you can place a target in magical stasis and they are roleblocked as well as protected from nightkills. They can still be targeted for non-lethal effects, however. Additionally, you are in a mason with Larry Gardener (Skykushryd) and can communicate with him freely outside the thread.
You win when all threats to your faction have been eliminated.
Warthog was fun to include... I had to put a few goofy characters in there that weren't in the first one for various reasons.

And sorry, lynching three townies in a row (get_1, Ignatz, and Sky) is bad play.
Of course, the fact that the town was paranoid enough to be throwing down on fellow townies, with little participation from the mafia, meant that voting records weren't a big help at all.

If you recall, I think I was get's biggest defender, and I certainly couldn't hammer him non-chalantly... then he comes on, does a 180 and roleclaims a character who wasn't in the Cliffport Saga. I saw my opening, and took it. Thanks, get!

Let's just say you didn't do Sky any favours by telling him, as the only player, when his actions failed and by telling me that he targeted Dbauers despite being Jailkept!
Regards
Melkhor
From the ashes of Paragon City... it rises!
