V DOOM attacked my Dr. Strange and rolled a crit hit. There were a couple of figs behind my Strange, 1 to his left and 1 to his right.

Each figs takes 2 damage and suffers knockback, starting from the figs furthest from the target. Is the knockback delivered in a direction away from the attacker, or is it away from the target (Strange)?

Courtesy of the general FAQ:
"All characters that take damage from an Energy Explosion attack suffer knock back (if applicable), except the figure using the power. These characters must all move away from the character that used the power, starting with those farthest from the attacker."

So it would be away from Doom.
