This year has been an exciting year for HeroClix. We've released excellent sets with incredible figures, we've seen the debut of several new forms of play at HeroClix tournaments, and we've released what has easily been one of the most sought after (and admittedly one of the most controversial) figures in the history of the game. Of course, I speak of your favorite Eater of Worlds and mine—Galactus.
By now, you know all about the lines, the raffle tickets, the extremely limited quantities, and the incredible demand for Galactus. While the ride's been a bit bumpy at times (most learning experiences are), we've come out on the other side with a process for convention-exclusive figures that works, that eliminates the need to stand in line for hours, and that gives everybody at a show a fair shot at a figure. Your feedback has been an integral part of that process, and we appreciate both your input and your patience as we came to a solution. Thanks for bearing with us and letting us know what worked and what didn't.
Now that we’re clear on what demand is like for figures like Galactus (not that there's anybody quite like Galactus!), we'll be able to more adequately satisfy demand while still maintaining the high collectability of convention exclusives. In other words: more people will have a chance to buy one, but we won't flood the market with them, either. You'll still have to go to a convention. You'll still have to be a guest. (Unfortunately, we are unable to offer these items to exhibitors or vendors). You'll probably still have to have a winning raffle ticket in order to buy one—this system has worked well for us and for other collectible companies, and we intend to use it for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for hanging in there with us as we figured out how to handle the biggest HeroClix figure to date. We promise to keep coming up with more incredible new figures for you to collect and play with, but we also promise to make them available in a way that's consistently fair to you, the player.
Thank you for your support of HeroClix.
Sincerely, Brian Mitchell HeroClix Brand Manager WizKids, Inc.
Good, maybe the secondary market price for Galactus will bump up a bit. I've been holding on to my extras waiting for the value to get out of the slump its in.
i was one of the lucky(?) ones at WWLA who got a galactus(14 hours of waiting in line and i didnt see much of the rest of WWLA) and i know first hand how bad wizkids dropped the ball and how far they had to go to fix it(in my opinion i could have been done faster but hey im an outsider) i think wizkids has done a great job since then in fixing their mistake which speaks volumes about the company i was very critical of at the time(i still feel that the WWLA apology was very lacking but again teh past is teh past and eventually ill let it go).
So to wizkids i say thank you for galactus, your welcome for my criticism and suggestions, and keep up the good work maintaining what i have always considered a far superior product and my favorite game!

Carl : I'm gonna give this rainbow thing another five minutes... and if it don't show up, I'm going down to the store and I'm buyin' a Hot Rod magazine.
On the other hand, some of us are not truly satisfied with the solutions offered. I do admit, though, that they've tried, and succeeded to the extent that in the end they have a more workable solution than what they started with.
Originally posted by TERRA_Rising This is all well and good, but since I have sold my collection because of the debacle that is Galactus, it's too late for this former Judge.
As obviously demonstrated by your posting on HCRealms.
I don't have a Galactus, but to me the problem wasn't getting one, the problem was making him unbeatable as part of a force. As such, I don't really want a Galactus. I hope for better playtestingin the future.
I wonder who was the first person at WK to say "yea lets make a really cool figure that you can ONLY get at conventions and screw everyone who cant go to one!!" and dont tell me the secondary market, some people cant dump the massive amount of cash for one. I like this game and have had few complaints but I just hate the idea having galactus (who is a well known marvel character) as a convention only figure. If you guys were gonna do that, you might as well have not made him for all I care.
hes friggen galactus! of course he shoudl be nye unbeatable! you name one character who could beat him in combat? all who have were either gods(thanos with gauantlet), died in the process (surfer) or had to barter with him(fantastic four) i think wizkids has made alot of characters badly overpowered and some underpowered but galactus is not one of them!
btw galactus is definatly beatable as a force, hard as heck but its possible. you just better be prepared to dish 16 damage a turn like he can, pray he doesnt hit every imperv roll, and use stealth as much as possible. hes 44 clicks of whoopa55 but for 1800 points im sure you can field a team thats just as brutal and you get 18 actions a turn as opposed to galactus's 2(?) thats an attack from 18 possible figs. which if they all can do at least 3 damage is a chance to dish at least 18 clicks in one turn! so in all of 3 turns you could take the big bastard down. not easy but lots of fun to try!

roboclix has the right idea. If you're a judge that holds 600+ point tourneys all the time & are concerned that Galactus will be unbeatable in that format, keep in mind that YOU'RE THE JUDGE! Take a tip from Wizkids & ban, er, retire him.
I don't have 65+ positive feedback (325+ on eBay) because I stink! My Trading Thread has non's, U's & LE's from CD, AW, Icons, FF, Legacy & more! My eBay Sales has new clix & sets listed every Sunday!
