Thor is there becase he is Thor, and he hits for 5, and can move 5 and attack from 10 away in the same move..and see stealth.. everyone knows that.
My reason for Spiderman is hes the only spiderman I have found that has 2 Ranged targets and hits for 3. He has the spiderman ability(wild card) so he can see stealth too. He has leap climb so he doest have to roll break away. His attack is 11, so He can easily hit or Incap 2 people at a time. and his defense is 17 with supersenses..hard to hit.
Paramedic becuase hshe has 3 clicks of support, and has an attack roll of 8, so shes a useful healer
Any comments on it? Thinks its good/could be better?
Goldilocks is going to be a contender for some time, he's just so nasty (read: broken) for his points. And while the new Spidey is cool, he's not a great choice for copying the Ultimates TA for one reason - his short range. By the time Pete would get close enough to make his attack on a Stealth piece, he would most likely have his SSenses Outwitted and get knocked down to size, especially by a team with closer to the standard 6figs for a 300pt build.
Of course, I'd give you kudos for trying your team out in a tourney to see how it does, but you might want to test it out in friendly games first.
Also, since Thor is Mr. Popularity, you may want to consider and/or playtest how well your team would do against other Thor teams...
...such as with another Ultimates attacker:
Thor, 186
e. Hawkeye, 60
r. Jean Grey, 31
r. Con Artist, 11
v. Paramedic, 12
= 300pts, 5figs
...or an 'all-about-Thor' force:
Thor, 186
r. Black Panther, 27
r. Jean Grey, 31
r. Destiny, 20
v. Paramedic, 12
(2x) e. Con Artist, 24 (2x12)
= 300pts, 7figs
A 3 figs team for a 300pts game is not a good idea.
I was playing in our 1st MM tourney saturday, and 2 guys were playing 3 figs.
They have been defeated in the first round, and easily.
Thor is very powerfull, but he need some support. I like the 1st team of scholarx : 2 attackers is always better than 1.
Could someone explain why Thor is considered "cheese" I have played him a couple of times in tournys and do good with him. All figures like thor do is even the playing-feild for less experienced or bad players. I enjoy facing thor even when Im not playing him just because if you cant own him your just that much better.
I don't think Thor U is cheese. WK may have not considered exactly the cost of ultimate TA (undercosted, i think). But Thor isn't cheese. It's not so hard to defeat him.
Cheese is a style of playing, no? Not characters.
Thor can be taken down. But-- if you get a carp roll and miss OR your oponent limps him back to one of those "cheesey" Para/Medics then your game turns a complete 180 and Thor (borken) will begin to wipe the board clean.
I like the Ultimates version of Thor in the comics so I like to play him. But, I feel like I am cheating somehow when I do play him.
I have everyone on the first team except for a con artist, or a Vet paramedic..I have an Exp paramedic, and no con artist though. This teams for a tourney Thursday at my local shop and everyone has to be legal too because its for the LE MM pieces (Jean Paul and Firestar) and Spiderman i know doesnt have that great of range..but thats the best format for a team i could come up with..every other one i tried wasnt very good.
Ive got a 4 person 300 Point team thats won one tourny for me and has won numerous other games..its undefeated in about 6-7 games.
I think Thor is extreme cheese. It takes very little strategy to win with Thor...
Still this team sounds pretty good..we will see how it goes in 2 Hours when i fight it...i dont belive hes going to use this one though..he pulled Loki last night...
I may have to resort to my big gun...Gladiator heh
