-With Battlefield condition cards, do both players have to agree to use them, or can one player simply declare that they are using it?
-If both players do have to agree to use the conditions, why have the "Ordinary Day" card? It seems to me that Ordinary Day is intended to be used as kind of an "outwit" of other condition cards.
-Are grounded flyers affected by the Earthquake card? They still have the flying symbol.
-If grounded flyers are affected by Earthquake, could you use Crosswinds to ground them and then have them be affected by the Earthquake condition?
-In regards to the Earthquake condition, do both players take the clicks of damage each turn?
The current tournament FAQ includes rules for using the BFCs. You bring n-1 different conditions to the tournament, where n=number of rounds. You are allowed to use one BFC per round.
If you mean fliers with Earthbound, yes they are affected by Earthquake. Earthbound says to treat the flyer as if it had the boot speed mode.
Yes, you can use Crosswinds to ground flyers for the Earthquake card, but that would require your opponent to play one of these while you played the other.
The damage from Earthquake happens the first time a two or three is rolled, then the Condition is removed from the game.
So even if the other player don't have BFCs cards at all, you can still use them? (Some players don't have them yet.)
In this kind of scenario, are they allowed?

It so happened that just saw a game where BFCs were played. In this version, the 2 players each played 1 card and used that for the duration of the game. The BFC were Crosswinds and Eartquake.
This is the pickle as Eathquake (and Earthbound) give a character with flight the boot speed MODE (according to the Universe Power Card) not the symbol, and Eathquake clearly states that is only affects pieces with the boot symbol. So since Crosswinds does not change the symbol (and they could have printed the BFC card to say all pieces/characters in grounded or boot mode) shoudn't flyers be excluded? I know its a technicality, but isn't that what makes this game great?
Every relationship is fundamentally a power struggle, and the individual in power is whoever likes the other person less.

I believe Earthbound changes the boot symbol. Crosswinds gives the character Earthbound. Transitively.... etc.

Ah... rules lawyering at it's best.
For all intents and purposes (I'll have to go and look up ludd_gang's answer to see if he is indeed correct in his reasoning) figs affected by Crosswinds are considered to be grounded and would be affected by Earthquake.

Even if you're opponent uses a BFC card, you don't have to.

My impression is that - for sealed tourneys - a BFC is a part of your team and cannot be changed. You choose it at the beginning of the tourney and play it against all of your various opponents without knowing what they will be playing.
Is this how everyone has been playing in sealed tourneys?
Has everyone been playing that you can have different BFC's for different rounds in a non-sealed tourney?
mohenjo: In a sealed tournament, you can play the same card in all rounds, or not. It's your choice. However, you have to determine to use it before you see your opponent's team.
logansbuddy: If the tourney is X rounds, you can use up to (X-1) Battlefield Condition cards. So if it is 6 rounds, then you can use UP TO 5. Don't have to use 5, but you can. However, when it is used, that's it for that particular card for the day.
