Pulse Wave:
You can Perplex up the damage before you make the attack. If you wind up having more than one figure within half range of the PW fig, damage is reduced to one. Also, your Perplexers cannot be within 1/2 range of the PW fig because PW ignores all powers within its effect range. (This would also be important if you Perplexed up your attack value).
Enhancement:
Is ignored by PW (not to mention the Enhancer would automatically be within the PW eefect...ouch!)
Enhancement does work for Energy Explosion, see below.
Energy Explosion:
Damage is reduced to 1. Since Perplex cannot be done in the middle of an action, if the EE fig had its damage value Perplexed up, the Perplex was wasted. However, after the damage drops to one, Enhancement (a free action specifically allowed by the rules to be done in the middle of an action) can raise the damage value back up from one.
Hope that helps.
Note: The SHIELD TA works like Enhancement, except it requires a power action and only affects one ranged attack.

Wizkids needs to do something to simplify this game. It is rediculous how complicated it ends up being. I go through all the trouble to "read up" on the rules just so they can come back with a FAQ (which the fact that they have to release FAQ after FAQ is proof that it is too complicated to begin with) that turns everything upside down. It's getting pretty frustrating from my point of view anyway.

I appreciate the sentiment (really, I do). But honestly, I don't think its that the rules are too complicated... I think most of it is how some people choose to interpret the rules. This forces myself, other envoys, and WK to create FAQ entries and unduely "complicate" the game.
Man-o-man, did I open myself up for a blasting or what?
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
I can understand your point of view as well. It's like people just read and re-read until they find the loop hole they are looking for and exploit it. Just like Opalscion put it...they are rules lawyers
I find the rules to be pretty basic there are always tricks you can try that work and some that won't,like free action from jla ta and hss attack option 1 were you get a free move and attack that doesn't count as an action, mind controlling figs. and turning off optional powers. The thing that makes it hard is when you do this and some else hasn't thought about it they call the judge but this is fine cause it gets it out of the way with a simple "it works that way".The best thing you can do is at the start of your tournament is to clarify your tricks with the judge, another thing is when people don't play friendly YES your guy is in stealth and your opponent can not see him but your guys know were his is so pc away use your wc ta whenever it suits you best. You are not always going to be able to win ever tournament you play in but you can run for fellowship with a friendly attitude towards your open and if they are jerks it's one less to worry about.
