We've been arguing about this for weeks now. Does poisin damage ignore defense abilities like toughness, etc? What are the parameters for this power? Thanks
POISON (optional): At the beginning of your turn, each opposing character adjacent to this character
is dealt 1 damage.
There is nothing in the FAQ about this. There is nothing in the Power description that says that it ignores any other powers. Since nothing allows it to ignore damage reducers, it does *not* ignore damage reducers.
(FWIW, this was previously ruled the opposite, or was a common misconception that still lingers in some players' minds. You're not the only one who has this question.)

An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
Once upon a time, Impervious was worded differently than it is now. Back then, it activated when the character was hit by an attack (similar to Super Senses), not when damage was dealt.
Since Poison was not (and still is not) an attack, Poison effectively bypassed Impervious.
However, Impervious now activates whenever damage is dealt, not just by an attack. Since Poison deals damage, Impervious works normally.
As far as I know, Toughness and Invulnerability have always been effective against Poison.
This history lesson has been brought to you by the letter P and the letter L, and by the number 3....
Thanks, PL. Personally, as the rulings are updated, I tend to forget the previous rulings... it's interesting to keep track of to see the different possible interpretation, and to know where players may get tripped up (usually by misremembering how things used to be).

Now just to add to the question here, what if I had three characters with poison standing next to an opposing character with one of the damage reducers. Does the damage from all three occur at the sametime bypassing the damage reducer or would each damage of poison be dealt seperately, and end up not doing a darn thing?
I don't have to take this abuse from you, I've got hundreds of people dying to abuse me.
Actually, you are allowed to use Outwit before the Poison takes effect, so V Joker can be quite menacing... Especially when teamed up with late-dial Poisoners such as Poison Ivy and Clayface to use as Mastermind fodder...
However, the damage is still delivered one click at a time, so if a fig goes from a click with say Invulnerability to a click with Toughness the rest of the Poison would be lost...
