Can you shield up the damage from a thrown object?

No. Throwing or TKing an object deals damage as set by the rules.

Shield increases the damage value (not damage dealt) and damage value is not involved when throwing or TKing an object.

i'm checking the faq, but as far as the rulebook is concerned, yes.

when you throw an object you give the character a ranged combat action, regardless of whether or not that figure has a ranged attack.

the shield ta activates during a ranged combat attack.

and since RCE is a ranged combat action and you can use shield, i don't see why you couldn't use it for the thrown object.
